I know this is a few months old, but thought I would chime in...I bought the Star Filter recently, and much to my surprise, it's glorious for me. I am 65, pretty decent skin with an impeccable skin care routine, tho I have some texture...I have always steered clear of glow because of my slightly oily skin and texture...but this surprised me. I wear it as my base with the Dior Skin Corrector Concealer. It sets down to a weightless, 'hugging ' finish and it lasts all day, looks ethereal. I have officially given up my foundations for this.

I agree. I put glowing products under matte foundation. It helps to make the matte foundations more versatile. Thanks for testing the Merit mattes. I prefer their original formula as I tend to stay away from mattes. But good to hear that you like them.

It never ceases to amaze me how wrapped around the axel folks get about whether or not certain actions are shown or talked about in videos. I am constantly hearing other RU-vidrs I follow remind their viewers that, yes, they did put sunscreen on…I guess that is really important to some people. At any rate, I am so glad you reviewed the Dior products I always love to hear your thoughts and see your swatches the natural light really helps me get a better idea of the colors. They do look pretty but I just can’t seem to get excited about them, as for the Merit, I don’t like matte lipsticks on myself so I will pass on those. Thanks for another great and informative video Rebecca, they are always appreciated!

You looked so luminous and pretty!!❤ love the idea of using the Luminzer under a matte foundation! I have a few so I will try this once I get it! Each of the lipsticks looked great on you! Power and Classic were my faves. I don’t like cream or liquid blushes too much but it did look lovely. Also, side note, I used to only wear bullet lipsticks for 20 plus years (since highschool) then switched to matte liquid lipstick for the past like million years. But! I recently added the Dior matte lipsticks to my cart for after my no buy. I think I will add one of these Merit ones as well!

Hi Rebecca,I enjoyed your demo and discussion of the new Dior products. Your skin looked beautiful with these products layered together. This Dior release prompted me to revisit CT's Flawless Filter and Tom Ford's Fire Lust liquid blush. I have glow to my skin, so I'm careful about adding more. While I find CT's Flawless Filter intense, I applied it to the cheek underneath my foundation and applied Tom Ford's Fire Lust over my foundation and the look was gorgeous! I wore CT's Beautiful Skin Foundation but I think the better match would be CT's matte Flawless Foundation. This experiment reminded me that I used to mix Flawless Filter into my concealer and it somehow hides the dark circles and lines from below the nose to the lips. I might pick up the bronze shade but I'm more motivated to reach for the beautiful glowy liquid products that I have, like TF's Fire Lust, the CT Beauty Wands, and use CT's Flawless Filter when I wear a matte foundation, as you were thinking in your video!

Tracey! I’m so glad to learn that I am not alone in mixing that slightly glowing primer with an otherwise completely completely shine free foundation. I have never thought to mix it into my concealer but I have been meaning to try that so thank you for reminding me. And remember, These glowing products are actually really lovely as an eye primer also

Catch some gnats made me laugh, you’re so cute! I’m excited to hear the Merit mattes are so good! I really like their other lipstick formula but the bullet doesn’t work well with my lip shape, I feel like I find of have to put it flat and sideways against my lips? But the only other lipsticks I like as much are Lisa Eldridge’s and these are like $10 cheaper so it seems worth the awkwardness. Haha Also that red looks great on you!

Thank you so much for the kind words on the red lip, Maggie. I really like myself in a red lip but I very rarely wear it because they are so fussy. This one was not at all. it goes on really nicely. But I do know what you mean when the bullet is a slightly awkward angle for your lips. I have that with a lot of different brands. Something about the sharpness on this one actually does work for me but I think I’ve had the same issue with so many others ❤️

wow you look stunning! you're skin is glowing in such a sophisticated way. I bought the star filter and maximizer in pink and i have big pores but it looks good especially after some concealer and powder. i feel i like it more than the ct filter. .....and those lipsticks!! so gorgeous ! love all of them on you! 😍 i wonder how court compares to cabo and tiger (both which i love!)

I picked up the Pink and Rosy in the maximizer (I figured one highlighter and one blush), but I skipped on the other product. I just don’t wear face glow products and I don’t need a huge DIOR bottle for a few drops on my cheek bone. I also picked up a few of the merit matte lipsticks (Classic, Maison, and Equestrian); I really do like Merit lip products a lot.

Good morning, Rabbi Roz! I totally agree with you. There is something really unique about the little glowing blushes. And I think it’s the shades and the way they kind of reflect. It’s a very pretty product but the larger face glow Charlotte Hollywood flawless filter dupe, if one can call a more expensive product a dupe ha ha, not really necessary with the makeup wardrobes we already own. Totally agreed.

I’m oily so I make my own completely non blurring glow. I don’t usually mesh with glowy products but I ONLY wear them with matte foundations. The Auric looks great on me for about 45 minutes, then I’m a greasy mess. I gave it to my daughter and she LOVES it!! I’m sure she’d be rooting for me to try this (because it would soon be hers!😂) I LOVE the original Merit lipstick formula. LOVE! I literally have every shade they make. (Not bought all at once!) At first I was really sad these weren’t new shades in that formula. But then I thought…Wait! I’d love to see what Merit would do with a matte formula. So now I’m fully on board! I love that their matte case is a different but still gorgeous tone from the satin case. One thing I really dislike (that I bet some people love) is that the sticker with the shade name is the color of the shade in these mattes unlike the satins. I think it makes their gorgeous packaging look cheaper. I love your model montages!! I guess they call it Classic for a reason! It will be the first shade I try!

Lisa!!!! oh my God, I cannot believe you mentioned the shade name sticker. There is a whole chaotic lipstick situation in my studio right now. And, let me just say, the shade names being colored on the sticker is helping a bit… A bit. If you buy more than one shade be careful about uncapping them and walking away with the bullet. Why, you ask? The label is on the top of the case, not on the bullet. So all of mine were uncapped while I was playing with them during the video. It’s pretty obvious which cap goes with the red. But the orangey pink and the pinks, I’m having a little bit of trouble. So I had to walk around into different lights and swatch them and compare it to the pictures on the website and the cap. Only me. Only me ha ha. First world problems. I love that your daughter is rooting for you to get a glowing face product so she can have it. That sounds like my mother who says that, when she was little, her brothers would always buy her a football for her birthday When she didn’t use it, they figured, why waste the money, they might as well use it.

I can wear the Dior alone 1-2 pumps only not as much as you used. I don’t wear Charlotte’s alone. They are not the same texture. Dior is by far my preference without the oily feel.

The glow is one of those multiuse products. It’s basically the same thing as the Hollywould flawless filter. You can use it as a primer, mix it into foundation or add it on top like a traditional highlighter ❤️

The Dior face products would be a no for me as I have extremely oily skin ( I powder and blot constantly). I was wondering if you will review the new Natasha Denona palette it looks interesting. I just had the Dior maximiser in pink arrive today. it is lovely. They sent a sample of their fragrance named New Look. OMG I want to rip my nose off. It is HORRIBLE, such a gnarly acidic smell

I guess my question is are you familiar with the Dior DreamSkin cushion (recently discontinued) and how would you say this compares? Because I love that product, have never found anything similar. Their replacement (capture totale serum foundation, also recently discontinued) is NOT similar. This product however seems like it would be from their talking points. I just don’t know how it’d go in real life.

It has been a LONG time since I have played with the DreamSkin and I know now I won't have a chance but, sadly, no, from my memory, this is not similar, unfortunately. Discontinued products are the biggest makeup disappointment. :(

No to everything lol - I'm so weird I hate both glowy face products and matte lip products lol. I like natural finish face products and anything but matte (no matter how nice they are) lip products. It's not just the feel of matte I dislike, it's also the look, so even if they are comfy and silky I like a glowy lip so I will always end up putting a gloss on top, so they are pointless for me. Any new tinted moisturizers or skin tints on the horizon? Seems like it's been a while for those.

Isn’t that nice, Michele? You don’t have to have any fear of missing out and you can safely pass and save money. You asked about new tinted moisturizers or skin tints. I know there’s a new glowing tinted kind of Sunkissed product from glow recipe that I just ordered. But that’s more of a all over face bronzer type thing for spring. And I have yet to play with the new Danessa product which seems like a primer but I think that one is mattifying

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty hmmm yeah those don't side like what I like - I'm always on the hunt for a regular old natural finish tinted moisturizer, nothing glowy, and I don't wear face primers. Oh well. Still wishing Merit would do more shades in their lip oils. I think that's all I'm interested in these days - tinted moisturizers and lip oils - but only if they are silky - no mintiness or plumping or stickiness. Hard to find. Thought I might be mildly interested in the Guerlain lip oils but then I saw something about them being sticky but they do have honey. . .

When I was much much younger, I taught English and creative writing for years, about 10 years. And I had this one classroom where the air conditioner was controlled by the head office somewhere and it was so freezing in the classroom all the time so I kept the classroom door open to just try to moderate it a little bit and I got in trouble with my principal because it’s such a waste of money. So I actually stationed one of the students in a chair by the door And his job was to look to see if the principal was coming and then we would close the door.
