Agree, the military base close to me has redirected to enter access road by creating a winding road with barriers. The only way they could have got thorough is at the last few yards then ram through. Plus the have installed an emergency button which closes a gate after the base entrance.

Guardsmen probably didn't fire because they are not allowed to carry firearms or if they do, the clips have blanks. If a Border Patrol agent fires his pistol, he is pulled off the line, interrogated, and fills out massive paper work requirements. Some agents learn how to use a slingshot to take out poisonous rattlers.

This is not a real military base It is a temporary location where DPS Officers stay for a rotation. Look at it like camping site that is used to quickly access a remote location where there is no police. Abbott doing the best he can to protect Texas! Thanks Brandon!👍
