Renault have a BRAND new app for the renault zoe however you may find it doesn't work when you try log in with your old ZE services username and password! I know terrible annoying with no alert before they did it! Also Renault have a NEW electric car platform the CMF-EV will be shared with Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi under there alliance system this meant MUCH lower R&D costs for all companies and will mean a range of new cars. Does this mean the current renault zoe will disappear? What new EV's would you like to see from renault on this new platform? let me know in the comments!

I've got that app, but nascent got the car yet. As a retired couple the Zoe size car is perfect. We can get 3 grandkids in the back and plenty of luggage for our cruises.

Thanks Nick. If it helps you to pronounce it, try to split Mitsubishi into 'Mitsu' and 'bishi'. Interestingly, 三菱 in Japanese is read as one word, Mitsubishi. The Japanese are being clever though, because, if you split the two characters apart, they're pronounced completely differently, but they are translated as: 三 = Three and 菱 = Rhombus, or diamond. And three diamonds is the Mitsubishi logo. You'll never forget it now!

Hi Nick. Looking at your app there is something missing to the app I have. It's a battery symbol just below the battery range graphic. But I don't know what it does. Is it a preheat for charging in cold weather? Any idea?😁

I was in a meeting with one of the Directors of RRG at the start of January (by accident) as I was trying to sort out a replacement for my fluence. I was told the equivalent grand coupe (not available in UK) size wise was not available for another 2 years so I was recommended to get the new Zoe and trade it up when the bigger equivalent model comes out. All the talk on the Zoe was rosy for a good number of years, there was no mention of binning it. I ordered a new Zoe of the production line 1st week in January.

Thank you for another great video. Yes this new app was a bit annoying to begin with and continues to be annoying. My app doesn't contain charge management or climate control in the My Vehicle tab and despite having checked for updates of the app and flagged it to them I still have no answers for the missing info. Incidentally the the pre-condition button on my key card no longer works either. Any ideas or advice? On the CMF platform I'd probably like to see a larger car like a Golf/Leon/Focus sized car with a greater range. Versatile enough to be spacious for a family and have a good range to go places with maybe one charge stop and tootle around a city. PS I'm driving a 2019 ZE40.

First issue on app your just need to keep reporting. Regarding the preheat it won’t work vis key unless your over 45% charge Yep larger would be better more room for passengers feet!

@@NicolasRaimo Thank you for your really really fast reply. I wasn't expecting anything for a week lol. I'll keep reporting the app issue. Each time i've tried to pre-condition with the key it's been at around 97%. It sounds like it could be a dealership fix. Larger passenger cabin would be nice seeing as I have tested the eNiro and the cabin was larger but the price tag was silly.

As a ZE40 owner is it worth getting the app? I've only heard bad things about the old one. I bought my Zoe used so didn't have any contact from Renault when I took ownership. Have tried calling for a code but always got cut off before finding the elusive activation code department.

We provided the vehicle registration number, VIN, and date of purchase in a request for the activation code via email to customer.services@renault.co.uk, a day later we had the activation code.

Hi, THE thing that seems to be missing is a version for a PC (running windows) As I use a PC far more than my mobile it would be nice to have "the app" on the PC. Oh and to have the cabin heat/cool on the key fob too!

You can login to the My renault webpage I believe and do it all from the PC, very few people would use a native PC app so renault are extremely unlikely to ever make one

Depends aftermarket there's not many if any I would. Warranties I can sell as a garage are insurance products and under written as such, but even some garages don't do that.

A Scenic style car would be great, even an Espace bus, like VW are promising, something larger, more practical, longer wheelbase to fit a nice big battery tray under, not these Crossover types we have now that are hatchbacks on stilts

Thanks for that video Nicolas. Our ZE50 is (was) due to be delivered at the end of May, but is now approximately 2 months behind I think. Do you think it'll be worth getting the app up and running at the dealers when we pick the car up? We should then be able to get it up and running properly.

Apps a lot easier to setup on Ze50 but you can have it pre downloaded ready for collection which model did you go Dion?

@@NicolasRaimo Went for the GT line with CCS in Quartz white (just like a mini Model3 ;-) ). Best car available to replace our Fiesta in my opinion. Awaiting a date to have the charger fitted, we opted for the Chargemaster.

@@NicolasRaimo We looked at all the options and chose Green Energy because they had the lowest daily average in our area, due to me working shifts I wouldn't have taken advantage of the Octopus tariffs unfortunately.

Hey would you recommend getting the new Zoe without CCS? Just I can get the GT model with bigger screen etc for £151 a month on lease but it has no CCS On tight budget so can't afford the extra £20-30 for the model with it because EV insurance for me is more expensive it's £90 a month if I got a Zoe only £70 with a petrol car Plus it have to pay out for a wallbox I do not travel far really so thinking I could get a wallbox and just charge overnight, so won't use CCS charging much anyway Over all the Zoe is more expensive for me than the petrol car I'm thinking of getting (not decided which yet) as the Zoe also needs a yearly service so all in I'd be paying £60 a month more for the Zoe extra cost Inc the insurance but then have to try find money for a wallbox as the grant means still have to pay about £400 I don't travel far and wide so the bit I'd save in fuel cost does not count much as I'm forking out more money a month still I'm thinking I should wait, get the petrol car then when I'm better off money wise get the EV

CCS or no CCS that truly is the question and it depends on a few factors if you answer YES to any of these questions then my advise would be add it. 1) Will you buying the car end of PCP 2) Will you ever travel further than its total range in 1 hop Reason these are important is because if your keeping it then you care about it’s value and CCS models will retain there value better. And the other one will benefit you more. If you said no to both then seriously it won’t make any difference to you at all. Also you need to remember you have ZERO fuel bill on the car and zero road tax this easily covers service and extra cost per month for most people. If your wanting a better deal you can either go direct threw me at my work or I have setup a special discounted rate on zoes with DSG Morecombe ask for Will Adams and quote “EV Nick” and there pre hangled rates

As Nick mentioned, it's all down to how you'll drive the car at the end of the day, but they may retain a higher residual value with the CCS option when/if you come to part with it. We've opted for the CCS due to our longest journey being just over 180 miles, and during the winter we may need to do a quick charge for 15-20 mins on-route.

I'd push to get the CCS if possible. If you need a top up away from home in 30 minutes CCS could give you 50%, AC would only do 20% at best in that time. It is the one thing I wish I could change about my Zoe.

@@NicolasRaimo thanks, it's actually lease for 24 months decided it's best for me from now on and to be honest most occasions I only top up my current car £25 each time I get paid a month. Do not travel that far and don't see me using the full range in 1 journey. Fuel savings for me I would not save that much really, it's my family's home so if I had a wallbox I would need to try work out how much is owe them each time I'd fully charge the car so I can give them it lol

@@rustyjoints4857 see the car I have now I've had since may 2016 I've only out 11k miles on it myself usually each month I get paid I just shove £25 of diesel in and that lasts me till next time I've usually got maybe 10 to 20 mile left before I out another £25 in. Rare occasion I've filled up in-between getting paid. I really am just thinking...what if, if I fancy going further a field This will be on a lease by the way I've decided it's best for me personally then I can get another car after 24 month Savings wise I know alot save money but for me no matter how I work it out I am paying alot more still which I don't think I can afford at the moment, public charging is crap where I am so I would deffo need a wallbox so that's extra £400 to £500 and the servicing on top I did managed to get the place to go down to £151 a month for the new GT version without rapid charge...but insurance is more expensive as well so think what I'm going to do is go with the DS3 crossback for the 24month then see where I am money wise as for that it's £130 and £70 for insurance, being lease I don't have to pay tax anyway as it's done already and with the DS3 no servicing while I have it as I won't do enough miles and no MOT Work cut my hrs so was looking for another job and covid-19 happened hence budget is tight but I need a new car and £130 is a bargain....though £151 is too for the Zoe ...if the insurance was the same as a petrol car I'd get the Zoe for sure but every penny counts at the moment

Hi Nick, I have an issue with my ZOE and the app on my phone. I can not synchronize the app with my car and it is getting on my nerves. Tried to get help from service did not help a lot... The problem is when I sync it its always same status "the code is incorrect" but I got it from the dealer twice so it should not be the problem. Please advise what more can I do...

Renault themselves have suggested they would be able to make a Megane sized sedan with space of a Talisman. I say make that a Megane sized ESTATE. We don't need more SUVs and crossovers or sedans for that matter. What is missing is an electric estate wagon. That or a Saabish combi coupe hatchback. 1500kg towing capacity too, please.

@@NicolasRaimo I grew up and learned to drive in a Renault 12 estate. Its predecessor, which I was too young to remember, was a Renault 6. Ever seen one of those? :) Though I never owned a Renault myself until I got my Zoe recently.

New zoe as in ZE50 I believe it is, however if your an older zoe ZE40 or 22kwh then no it would of been emailed to you when you set up the old app

I downloaded the new app last week to my iPhone (lasted iOS updated) unfortunately the app does not display the preconditioning function or the charging history. Renault have told me this is a unique problem and have passed it to their tech team to try and resolve. Anyone else having these issues?

Yes, I too do not have the precon or history aspects either. My app is the android version on my moto 5G Plus phone. The app says unplugged, so I connected the car to my charger and charged it up to 90 per cent and leaving it connected I then refreshed the app which still said unplugged. Moreover, the app says last activity 07/02/2020 with 81 miles and 57 per cent charge. What's going on?

I'm about to buy a ZE 40 R110. Can this app be used to pre-heat, monitor charging etc if the car doesn't have a WiFi connection (garage is very far from the router)? Thanks

It uses a sim card built into the car so I’d your garage gets mobile signal then yes it will work, there other ways to preheat car also see the video called “3 pre heats of winter”.

@@NicolasRaimo Thanks Nic. Maybe a silly question, but how does the car know whether to 'pre-heat' or 'pre-cool'? Based on time of year or car's outside thermometer maybe?
