I think I am definitely gonna change my jeska//ishai deck to nareset! I feel like they will be nearly the same but having access to another graveyard is crazy over the kill with commander plan!
New narset has me contemplating using it to break parity on stax pieces when they get removed, as always I see a commander and go hmm can we stax this?
Josh could have cast that Deflecting Swat (while Breach was on the stack) to net a red mana, which would have allowed him to storm off enough to flip Urabrask or make some other plays.
I think in order to cast the deflecting swat it needs to have a target, since the breach on the stack doesn’t target or have a target you cannot cast deflecting swat while it’s on the stack
@@jacobmoody5788 I used to think that as well, but I came to learn that Deflecting Swat is similarly worded to Redirect, which has this ruling: Redirect can target any spell, not just an instant or sorcery spell. For example, you could use it to change the target of an Aura spell. However, if the targeted spell has no targets (for example, if it’s an instant or sorcery spell that doesn’t specifically use the word “target,” or if it’s a creature spell), Redirect won’t have any effect on it. @@zilkay6558 Timing wasn't an issue. Josh just needed 1 extra mana to flip Urabrask, which he could have gotten from casting Swat, targeting Breach--or March for that matter. Once Swat and Breach resolve, the stack would be empty, and then he can use that 1 red mana to flip Urabrask--not that it would have changed the outcome of the game of course.
Pontus' deck *really* wanted him to cast Bring to Light.. Little point of optimization: you don't make any choices for a card like D-Swat until you start resolving it (except for which spell you're targeting, of course). So by announcing what you're changing the Snap to, you're giving away information; if your opponents want to interact with fhe Swat, they do so without knowing what your exact plan is.
I'm not sure if you're running it but would you consider Traumatize as a pseudo Ad Nauseam? Targetting yourself or a Blue Farm player almost guarantees you're gonna get your breach or a way to get it. Although as I'm writing this you are fueling Mnemonic Betrayal and your opponents' Breach if you target them
That Urabrask list was kinda cheeks. I’ve played it the last 3 weeks & I’ve found anytime I untap with urabrask and if it’s not interracted with the win rate that turn is 95%+ Turn 2 wins are not uncommon with a decent keep, turn 3-4 wins are more common through interaction.
yeah, they were strong. Its really difficult to evaluate cantrips like probe in situations like this. I would have probably discarded storm and I'm not sure that would have been the right decision
