"Long ago in a distant star, I, AKUL, the everliving master of Necrons, unleashed an unspeakable genius! But a foolish Eldar warrior wielding a ridiculous clothing stepped forth to oppose me!"
I hate to be critical and I love skari, but I don't think this was quite enough for the opening episode of a narrative campaign. I think it would be a good idea to check out some of the narrative campaigns that Winters SEO or Say Hi Paul have done. If you look at this batrep, what was actually different from any normal batrep, a bit of voiceover? Am I going to have to sign up to the vault to find out what happens next? Not really because there was no narrative hook for me. I hope this lands in the way it was intended, as genuine criticism to improve, the first episode of a narrative campaign should be dripping in narrative and make me NEED to see the next episode and the resolution. What is the narrative here, a new tomb world and a necron overlord wants it, but some Drukhari want some relics? Apologies for sounding blunt, but who cares? That's every batrep ever. In the wake of recent videos talking about how MWG needs to focus on what it does best to retain viewers and sign ups, I don't think this campaign is helping I'm afraid. Maybe the story is amazing and its the best narrative campaign by the end that MWG has ever done, but nothing of that was in this first episode which is meant to sell the vault and the rest of the series. Love MWG, Skari, huge fan, just want the best from you guys.
I couldn't decide whether my first army would be Necrons or Thousand Sons; ended up starting with Necrons after my buddy told me they were the easiest models to paint by a landslide. 'Just use a silver primer and they're immediately playable. Then use green and black to details the ones you end up actually using
Love the video, great use of gravel to break up the terrain outline and make it appear more 'real'? I guess. Also thanks for speeding up the movement with narration, great way to do it.
@@SkaredCast Yeah bring it up with the mini wargaming team or maybe make it yourself if you want to. I remember when they used to pretty much do exactly that and they did it once with orcs and once with deathwatch. So many ways you could do it like even for drukari. One of the best parts is the narrative aspect as they can perma die get injuries get lost/separate ect and the power fantasy as you would build them into one man armies that reflect lore a bit better then the table top does. Imagine a striketeam of elite eldar from all walks of life put together by the ynnari to do a special task of finding the final blade thats in slaanesh domain so they can unleash their god to kill slaanesh. You would likely need some sorta buff to durability via a blessing cause eldar die way to easy in 40k. A DE version of this could easilly be a certain Arcon Skari putting together a team of slaves with bombs in their neck and that have been super tortured/drugged and forced to become his strike team thus being allowed to use pretty much any factions models for the killteam
I have to get over my hatred of Xenos to watch this one. I usually only watch space marine stuff. Like, who do I root for here? Lol. Will this be available on the narrative youtube tier or just the vault?
