So do the green robots keep coming if you let them flee instead of beating them? I've been on this fight for hours and i've tried looking for guides to beat this god forsaken fight and no luck
The fact that both him and Cognitive Haru repeat the same frases so much indicates that its probably on purpose, they are literally adding filler to stress you out.
This sucks a lot because it makes you want to mash to skip it, which unfortunately means missing Futaba's line about killing all the robots in the same turn, which as it turns out, will make you waste hours of your time thinking the boss is actually long without understanding why it keeps going on and on and on ... That happened to me. Fuck this boss.
Felt, I hate how vanilla okumura was boring. A terrible boss fight after Wakaba, I'm surprised Wakaba isn't disliked throughout the fandom. All you do is hit at a flying sphynx until you hit it with a ballista twice or somehow defeat it.
@@a_lois The palace and the music make up for the alright boss battle IMO. Also Wakaba’s scream or yell was annoying however again the palace itself was just so good it makes up for it.
Okumura calls the other party members: Joker: "The pompous man in the black coat" Ryuji: "The obnoxious blond one" Morgana: "The weird black and white cat" Yusuke: "The weirdo in the fox mask"
Makoto: The barbaric woman in black! Haru: *i forgot but i'll try* The fake who too the image of my daughter! I dont think the Haru one is correct but I think its close. (Edit#1: Okay it turns out that he says it in the video so nevermind-- "The phony with the face of my daughter") (Edit#2: I wasnt expecting to be wrong with Makoto. "The barbaric black-haired woman")
This battle was absolutely the worst fight in the entire game. They somehow managed to over correct from stupidly easy and anticlimactic, to infuriatingly bullshit. I've tried 4 times, and those goddamned green robots will never, never, never die. This is the first time I've ever rage-quit a Persona fight. Taking up 25 minutes of a fight before I finally have to quit and go grind a persona to have better Psi moves, because I'm physically incapable of beating a boss that has no business being as difficult as it is, is not fun.
Oh it gets worse cause I’m actually able to kill them but this dumb boss just keeps spawning them till time runs out I had to fight 6 waves of them this is stupid what the hell is this boss I was enjoying the whole game up until here
I like how 2 years later after the first game, they were like "maybe this fight is ok. How do we tweak it?" "When we make the other bosses longer, lets make this one HARDER than last time! I bet they loved that duplication enemy thing. That was dope right?" That one guy who play tested but remembers he's under contract: Did....did we play the same exact part of the game or are you bsing me-I mean, yeah! They'll love it!"
I really like how they kept the fight with the theme of “ceo hides behind his workforce”. But the targeting and his constant chatter and callouts makes the fight less boring compared to the original.
Well looks like they made this fight a lot more annoying than the original. In the original fight the trash mobs were pushovers. Only thing you had to worry about was ensuring your health was high enough so the big robot didn't one shot you with the power of anime Mcdonalds. Also it seems robo Haru has taken the Chiaotzu approach to self-sacrifice, couldn't even do enough damage to finish off the MC.
First off, I think it's more accurate to say anime Burger King (lol). Second, the fight is also harder because the boss consistently spams buffs on one mob, debuffs on your entire team, and commands one enemy almost every 2 turns to kamikaze your team. Plus, the mobs 'reset' themselves if you don't defeat them in 2 turns or less (though the exception is the one that blows up in that time, so technically it's kill at least 3 minimum). The only exception to that annoyance is the single giant robot and Robo-Haru (kinda). All of which wouldn't really be TOO bad if it's not for the fact that you have to do this all within a certain time, which means that if you aren't entirely prepared, you're already screwed from the get-go
@@ShadowPersona360 , I stuck with green giant robots for about 3 hours, cause I didn't have enough damage to kill buffed robots. Felt really annoying. Then I just nullified all enemy buffs and team debuffs, raised attack, stop trying baton passes and went to straight dealing damage through weakness exploits. Vault guardian ability, taken from Kaneshiro will seeds helped a lot. Oh my fucking god, the pleasure and relief I felt when Akechi finished this man was huge.
Abyss Boi Haru could have had a better introduction and a better use of jer screentime in the original, if not for Morgana being so petty. But in the end, he found a reason to stay with the team, to guide the Phantom Thieves.
Joseph Falco Jr No Miyazaki decided to thank them for publishing Demon Souls in the USA by making an actual challenging fight to overcome for all of the P5 players who came from smash.
I looked on the wiki page, and it actually said in the "Strategy" section that lowering difficulty level for this fight might be one of the only things you can do if you aren't prepared
God I know this boss is very hard and annoying and the worst part I almost ran out of time by the time got okumra I had almost 4:00 min left this is more hard than in the original
I'll copy and paste a comment I made on a strat that might help in beating the boss, if you haven't beaten it already. The best way to beat this boss is to use items that do the affect the right affinity weakness for each wave of robots, whenever you use a teammate that doesn't have the correct affinity. This is so you can take full advantage of baton passes. For example, I used a team of Ryuji, Morgana, Joker, and Haru. For the example, I'll focus on the 5th wave of giant green robots. Whenever it's Ryuji or Morgan's turn, throw an item that deals psy damage to one enemy and baton pass to the next teammate (Ryuji or Morgana) that don't naturally have the psy affinity. Then baton pass to either Haru or Joker, depending on who has the second strongest AOE attack of psy (or curse if you have that for Joker as that is also a weakness for the giant green bots). Make sure the third baton player AOEs for the weakness and pass it to the last player to also AOE again for Max damage. Basically, take as much advantage of the baton passes as you can for this fight. I hope it helps.
Technically they already are. I mean Kaneshiro literally forced female high schoolers to be prostitutes and blackmails them, Madarame stole the livelihood of many people and children, and technically murdered someone, etc. Its just that we don't feel they're so bad because we didn't have much of a connection to their victims as much as we did to Kamoshida's.
After playing through Royal, I am really happy about what they did with the new Palace. Sure, it may not be a "bad" guy, but it's the most fitting antagonist for Persona 5.
I know right?! The entire Okumura section of P5 was worst part of the game, and somehow in Royal they not only didn't fix the problems present but added new ones aswell. Like how do you even manage to improve everything but make the worst part of the original worse?
The stamp on summoning gate shows what element the next corporobo is weak at. First is 火村(火 means fire), Second is 氷川(氷 means ice), third is 風田(風 means wind), fourth is 雷門(雷 means thunder), and fifth is 念上(念 means mind).
Actually, you don't even have to know the language. If you for some reason paid enough attention to the colours, they also indicate - red = fire, blue = ice, yellow = lightning, green = wind.
The weaknesses are also the same as in the rest of the dungeon. You’re expected to have figured them all out during the earlier sneaking section with the keycards.
ColeMeCrazy probably not because they already knew they wouldn’t make them playable at that point, at least for akechi. There may be a line for kasumi tho
For some reason, the damage when you do a super effective/critical/technical damage is boosted 3x of it's base damage. While that's good for you, the enemies technically get that 3x damage buff too.
I brought Shiki-Ouji into every dungeon past Madarame. Four Nulls is just utterly stupid, and I got lucky to fuse him with a ton of different spread moves during an alarm. If I didn't want Joker to take damage for any reason I just swapped to Shiki-Ouji.
@No Not how the game works dumbass. Unless you seriously grinded like a madman in Mementos for levels or cash, AND had a serious discount by somehow completing the Strength confidant when three of the ingredients for Seth are IN Futaba's Palace, there is zero way you were able to afford fusing Yoshitsune at around level 30-40. Edit: Not to mention one of Yoshitsune's component pieces is the ultimate Magician Persona, which is physically impossible to obtain until after the seventh Palace.
@@mortiphasm6816 Hadn't played the boss fight at the time, and I feel thats even better, because she's only strong and useful when she's destroying herself for the company
She has to survive to be able to use the self-destruct move, which proves that Okumura is willing to sacrifice her just like all the rest of the robots.
If Akechi and Kasumi were playable at this point Okumura would probably say: "That clown prince with the beak!" "This poor excuse for a wannabe gymnast!"
My reactions off how he would had said those -Lots of nerves for calling someone he knows like that....and i can imagine that clown prince...really returning the words to him..with interests -......he dared to call her that. as if his previous words to Haru and Ann weren't hard enough he would had dared to say taht?!
This fight feels like the developers just threw a bunch of gimmicks together and made it a boss. Making for an incredibly frustrating experinece. The only fix is that it's after this is when you finally get your sneak peak into the third semester.
A honest strategy for this fight: when you get to the part with green robots, use concentrate on joker, have ryuji buff his attack, and have morgana and haru on the on the field. When the green robots appear again, use miracle punch with morgana, hoping it succeeds, baton pass to haru, use psio on one robot and baton pass to joker and do your most powerful multi-attacking psio move. That should wear them down pretty good for following attacks. I did this at lv 44 on hard mode. Hope this helps you guys!
Being my usual self (aka an idiot) I forgot to bring a Persona with the psy attack for all enemies, instead I only brought the single target version. An hour of rage later, I finally beat this BS
Four things I find this bullshit: 1-They come back in 2 turns with their health restore. 2-They go after one person and it so annoyed to keep on reviving them. 3-One of them blows up and almost takes all of your health. 4-Theres a time limit on this battle, and you got to finish this quickly.
This fight might just make me cheat. I have the DLC persona after all, and if anyone judges me for that I'd like to remind you they took the worst boss fight in the original, and with years of feedback, time and effort they MADE IT SO MUCH WORSE.
@@TheAnimenia Tried Messiah picaro but I think I accidentally screwed up the rhythm of the fight and after every spawn the green ones would blow up. Izanagi-no-Okami worked wonders though.
This fight is a pain in the ass on the higher difficulties. As you see, if you don’t kill the groups fast enough, they will run away and respawn. And because the groups get beefier the further you go....you can imagine how this goes.
Actually you have to kill them in exactly 2 turns, you can technically kill any unbuffed robot within that limit but defintely not when one has Rakukaja on and/or key party members are hungry. Plus I seriously doubt anyone still have Dekaja with them by this point. (Or buy baptismal water, if not.)
I wanna hear Okumura call out who to target for all of the phantom thieves. Also boss fights in Royal make the boss an even worse person then they were in Persona 5
"boss fights in Royal make the boss an even worse person then they were in Royal" What? The bosses are worse in this games than they were in this game?
I had to restart this fight twice because on how bullshit They kept getting buffed and then running away after two rounds. I don’t know how they made this boss more shit than it was in the original 😂
I have no clue how this made it past play testing. It's not challenging or skill based at all; it's completely broken. The fact that you need to change the difficulty to a HIGHER level in order to finish this fight says a lot.
Honestly....after dying 12 times and finally getting lucky and beating him......I didn't even care that Akechi killed him....Akechi is the true MVP of this boss fight
You could give this game a 9.5/10 or a 4.5/5 and have a paragraph about how this is the one change they made for the worse and you wouldn't lose any credibility.
I just did this boss fight and I still haven’t beaten it. Okumura’s boss is so tedious, so mind-numbingly infuriating. Those green robots always run like little bitches when their health goes the slightest bit under half, so great job, you’ve just wasted your SP and any items you might have used so you can do it all over again because Okumura will always call in more robots till the end of time unless you’ve either beaten him by sheer luck or you quit. Fuck this boss.
Turning up the difficulty to merciless actually makes this battle much easier as you will do so much damage if you hit those technicals and weaknesses. Just be sure stock up on some elemental items and do baton passes as much as possible.
That was how I beat the phase with the 4 big guys. My advice: Take Haru with you and put the Persona from the DLCs with Abyssal Wings on it. Use your other two party members to throw curse bombs at them. Baton pass to Haru as the third and use her all psy attack. Then baton pass to joker last, and you'll have the ability to use Abyssal Wings twice in a row, once without any SP cost. That's about 60% of the big robots health in one turn.
TOO HELL WITH THIS GODDAMN FIGHT!!!!!!! This is by far one the of hardest boss fights I have ever fought. I didn't want to use any of the DLC persona, but they fight forced me to bring one that dealt heavy curse damage to
@@psionics321 Even with baton pass and items, this boss is just kind of horseshit for what they're expecting of players at this level. They're already insanely powerful and durable, however it wouldn't be such an issue... IF they didn't leave the fight after two turns, which if you happen to not finish all of them off by that point but they have a sliver of health yet, makes it that much more annoying. This also means that if you used items against that wave of enemies, they're potentially gone now forcing you to restart because they were the only thing that gave the player a chance. Not only that, but one enemy can self destruct and oftentimes, that's the one buffed with defense adding on to those massive issues already there. I wouldn't say it's people being bad either, because almost no one complains about the rest of the bosses in this way. Not even Maruki, who works similarly but is not designed to inconvenience the player in every way possible by that point in the game. I handily beat this boss on my second playthrough in 5 or so minutes, but that doesn't change how I feel about its design.
@@soc1163 isn't the challenge in this fight about fighting the clock? you have a 30 second timer and u have a turn or two to kill the round of enemies after they reach low HP. the game gives players many ways to boost their damage output, and this fight is in the mid to late game. Not really the game's fault if a lot of players don't fully utilize something given to them so early on in the game
I think it's interesting because it kinda further emphasizes how weak and fragile Shadow Okamura truly was. He needed mobs to fight for him, his 'daughter' to support and strengthen his position, and in the end he couldn't handle a sneeze by himself
Louis Antonio yes and whenever I was fighting this boss I was saying to myself. Haru what does the scouter say about his power level? It’s over 9000” like seriously I want to hear her Voice actor say that
MinusUltra OneForNobody yeah i died once bc i tried brute forcing this fight then the second time i just fought using the weaknesses and had no problems. Though i still hate this fight and as soon as the big robot showed up i whipped out izanagi to bully okumura bc fuck him lol.
MinusUltra OneForNobody it's pretty easy because of the free DLC. You can pretty much summon a level 90 Messiah Picaro which as almighy attacks that target all enemies
soooo we have infinite respawning enemies unless defeated at the same time, multiple phases, broken because its easier on harder difficulty, one liners and a time limit do i miss something
And even this battle got improved, well, I'm convinced to buy Persona 5, after seen all the new stuff that if has and how even the gameplay got improved (which was already awesome), I will definitely get this game... Specially because I never bought the original.
Personally, I'd say this battle is way, way worse than the original, because if you go in not knowing how the battle changed, like I did, it can be literally impossible to win. It's incredibly difficult to kill the green robots all at once unless you're prepared for it.
Straight up to win this fight. Buy elemental "bomb" items that attack single enemies. (Specifically more psybombs). The hardest part is getting past the green chief robots. Have Haru on your team with psy and have joker with strong psy abilities as well. Have your other teammates use the items that the robots are weak to and baton pass to the other teammates that dont have psy abilities. Eventually you baton pass to joker and haru to blast them into oblivion with a full powered baton pass attack. This fight taught me how powerful baton pass can be and how cool the mechanic is.
@@akiraishere9319 I beat the bastid without them! Changed party members, ground stronger personas, and one-shotted Okumara with curse from one of the high level DLC personas at level 41 with 14 seconds to spare ... *whew*
Another vote for upping the difficulty to Merciless. This fight is a DPS test and you NEED to deal as much damage from exploiting weaknesses as possible.
I feel so incredibly satisfied when I finally beat this guy on Hard. I raged for a good three hours, rewound time, equipped myself better, grinded a bit, and developed new strategies. When I finally managed to lay the smackdown on him, the catharsis was immeasurable.
If anything, it's significantly worse than the original due to the robots being tanky-ass fuckers and the fact that the wave respawns if you don't kill it in time.
This was the only boss fight that gave me trouble in p5r. Those green robots just refused to die; I had to do wacky baton pass shenanigans to do enough damage to kill them.
This dude took the longest to beat out of my whole run so far, with multiple retries and figuring out how to beat him. I was able to do it, but he was the hardest, yet I was able to beat Shido in one go on merciless.
After 3 hours, I made it through (the blue and green robots are the absolute worst) with Haru, Morgana and Makoto. Wish I had used a Garu or Psy ring instead of the elemental items. Playing on hard, had to lower it to easy, and even then, I just barely managed to kill the last green one before it escaped a third time. Then big robot and Haru was a breeze in comparison. Okumura just won't stop talking, and neither does the timer. I'm not pleased with this victory. Next time I play, my entire playthrough will be a preparation for this fight. Good heavens, I want to kick his ***.
Honestly, I didn't mind this fight back in the base game. But this... this is just cancer now. With how broken baton pass has become in P5R, I swear they have inflated the HP pools of the enemies to such a ridiculous degree in an effort to offset it (I haven't run the numbers myself, but it certainly felt that way when I did this on maddening), except with the inability to all out attack and reset the enemies even this buffed baton pass system can't overcome the HP pools. Combine that with the inability to now single out the bots that are to self destruct if you want to move to the next wave, the Big Bang spamming from the executive director bot once he drops to about 1/3 of his HP and Okumura actually now being a hindrance with his buffs/debuffs, all while keeping the same 30 minute restriction... seriously, WHO thought this was an upgrade from the previous version of this fight? If it wasn't for concentrated almighty attacks I honestly think I would have lost my blind attempt of the fight xD
If anyone happens to be reading through the comments and is struggling with this fight, try to make use of baton passes. On the last set of robots before robo-Haru, I’d recommend hitting two weaknesses with Haru, one with another party member using an item, another with another party member, and then pass to joker to finish them.
HOLY SHIT so I wasn't the only person raging from this boss fight? Thought I was losing my MIND over this! Was sailing through a majority of the game until this boss showed.
I love Morgana in the cutscenes going up to this fight. It’s then very nearly ruined by the fact that this is the most unenjoyable bossfight a in a video game I have ever fought.
SCREW THIS BOSS FIGHT! For i don't know how many tries i would just get to the fifth stage and get stuck as i could not do enough psi damage to win before the robots blew up and the fight reset, so i would be stuck in the loop before the timer ran out. Somehow i got lucky at one try and was able to progress. I am generally not optimising RPG player but never had this much trouble with the other boss fights in this game.
As much as this fight is annoying, especially those green robots, I actually like this fight. On a story level, it really shows both Okumura’s viewpoint of his workers and the pressures of being a worker, which is weaved into the main mechanics of this boss. The time limit, the limited amount of turns, the dwindling of your resources; they all serve to reflect the pressures that companies can put onto their workers. On a gameplay standpoint, it can be infuriating to some, which I can understand. I also don’t think I could put into words why I enjoyed the battle like I did, as I feel like it would just be shut down by an equally valid opinion. I guess that I feel the game, at this point in time, is teaching you to play it smart. Utilising Baton Passes, Magatamas and Single-Target moves were my key to winning the fight, alongside that Councillor star persona. Overall, I love how the mechanics of the fight fit to subtly create the atmosphere that Okumura put his workers through, despite how hard the battle can be. Although I don’t quite understand what I liked in the actual fight, I know that I was still satisfied with it somewhat and that’s all I can really ask for
Ok.. Uhhhhhh- Have you considered using Jokers turn to switch out party members? I thing The black and blue Robots are Morgana required.. Or maybe Yusuke.. I’m not sure. Thats what I did.
His tactics works, the robots don't resist Gun and with the build he's using, he supposedly can kill the Robots with only Joker having some Garu or Megido skills. The problem is that he can't kill that robot because it got its defense buffed, I don't know why but he's one of the 2-3 people I've saw who actually bothered to lift it. (BTW if you don't lift that Rakukaja in this fight you die without an exception)
@@currentlybeingremade9706 Yes and how did you manage to get past the DM and GM Robots? One of them self destructs and that robot is the last one? Or you just have really strong firepower? Because using the standard approach (Which is what he's doing) there's no way to get around it in 2 turns if you don't use Dekaja from the get-go.
I didn’t lift it but used tarukaja and baton pass to do it. That was a very bad decision since it was still very tough but i managed to do it. It was like it’s either the last bit of health remaining for the defense buffed one or it dies as well by luck.
@No If you are casting Marakunda instantly on turn 1 (Or Dekaja) it just takes 1 Haru Mapsio and 1 Baton Pass to Joker and all 4 die even on hard mode. No DLC needed. I guess someone posted that here.
Proud to say I beat this boss fight on the 4th try on Hard difficulty, it was a pain in the ass not gonna lie. The main personas I used were Rogue Kaguya for the reflect physical dmg passive, and the Kaiwan, a star-shaped persona with an “old” face. My team was around level 41-42, with Ann, Mona and Haru on the field. I would use damage items to deal effective attacks, mostly with Mona and Ann against the green dudes, then Baton pass to Joker to either debuff Defense, or buff team’s Attack, that way being able to deal more damage and defeat the green dudes in time. Everyone before them was relatively easy if one knows their weaknesses, and for the final guy in black suit, I would just attack and then defend when the Big Bang Challenge attack was coming. I must say I had an SP regen accesory I bought from Takemi on Joker, as he’s always using more SP than most of the team. This has been my most difficult fight so far, both because of the high HP enemies had, and because of the pressure the timer put on one, nonetheless, it was an entertaining fight.
