Before there were modern cooler fans/humidifier that are widely sold and used today, in the 70-90s there were fans of this type which had even more functions, cooling/mist mode and heating mode. To be honest, I never knew that this type of fan existed, until one day I found this fan for sale in antique shops, and it didn't really impressed me. Until a few months ago, I found this old machine in new condition and the only one in stock at a market place. Out of curiosity and the price is still affordable, so why not!
This is the Air Cooler & Heater model TF-883 with an unknown brand which is also the first AC Heating fan that I tried & owned. It is quite heavy, and has a material that is dominated by thick plastic. This fan has 2 speeds, which in my opinion is not that significant of a difference. When the heater is operated, the fan's power usage skyrockets from 70Watts to 1400 Watts! Meanwhile, for cool use, the fan uses a smaller motor to work as a air revitalisor and distribute cool mist to be blown into moist air that comes out of the bottom part of the grille.
Although at first I was a little confused about the function of this heater, which in my opinion was not appropriate for use in the tropical climate in Indonesia, because it is already hot here. But now, I understand more and it turns out that there are times when we need this function, such as when we are cold/freezing when sick, to dry clothes/other objects, and for certain pets that need temperatures hot enough to survive. And finally this machine has become something that is quite interesting and useful for me.
