"It'd be like If kids these days went to an X-box live lobby ten years ago, they'd never make it" That's one of the best analogies for 1980's Sabertooth being put in today's stories
Ehh "good" is subjective though. When Rob says either of those 2 phrases you know he will be talking about something he is passionate and excited about.
Me too...except this....ima need better than this in my honest opinion! Maybe as a trade it will read better. We shall see. Im on board, but hesitantly.
That is the kind of a hole thing he would say. Sue should have jacked his a$$ up after that. That’s some high level creepy cult crap, right there. I’m of a different opinion, this is coming off more creepy than badass to me. I’m way more intrigued than I have been in awhile though.
X-Men gonna kidnap Franklin (who's STILL a kid after being that way since like 1985 or something) and use the Marauders to kill any Morlocks that be left over from that first massacre back in '86!
Hickman is such a good storyteller that he could write a story about a car rusting away to nothing and it would be amazing! I really enjoy reading his work.
"Potential". I have no idea what Hickman was thinking about with this new Omega classification. Just like Iceman, Storm has the potential to be Omega. She has no Omega showings. Just like ol Robert.
I have the comic where sabertooth threw gambits brother and girlfriend/ theft mark, off the top of Notre Dame making gambit save one (after gambit gave him the necklace) just for laughs.
Philip Hernandez The way he should be. It was exciting to have a villain who was just a bad guy unlike Magneto who has an understandable motive. Sabretooth’s only real motive is what satisfies me? Now you can’t have too many like that but it’s good to have those few agents of chaos hanging out in your character’s world. He was one of my favorites, you never really knew what he was going to do.
@@ReeceHoward06 which I dont get why, she was so powerful she became the storm itself not even Doom or the rest of the Xmen (besides Jean) could beat her. Not to mention she can control cosmic weather
I feel like this comics was written for me. The X-men have become their own nation, they are developing their own culture and this run will introduce new concepts and ideas instead of rehashing old Claremont issues. I'm STOKED for this run
Tonyd717 dude wtf every video I click someone with your profile picture comments Dosent matter what vid Comics UFC fights Dude who the hell is that on your profile pic I literally see it in every single video I’m looking at
I get this statement. You’re write. DC Rebirth was lit, and it fixed a lot of New 52 problems, and made Superman cool again. Which I thought was impossible. Hickman is doing with House of X for X-men what Rebirth did for Superman.
I like the re-tweaking of omega level definition although readers generally classified people like Magneto as omega level anyways. A bit upset that Jean isn't an omega level with both powers but she really was a better telepath than telekinetic. Storm was always hinted as omega level, glad it is official. Surprised Xavier not in this listing or Emma...but then again that would be so many omega level telepaths running around.
Hey, you forgot the jab of Cyclops to reed about Franklyn being a mutant . Also about the guy with the gun having a third affiliation. First time posting. But I do appreciate your work, good job.
Matt R I mean he’s a Xmen fan so obviously he would be excited That’s like someone getting excited when geoff Johns come back to write green lantern again
As soon as you said "with that being said guys" it felt like when you're watching an insane episode of a show and all of a sudden the credits roll. I WANT MORE. I NEED MORE.
Krakoa being a mutant and not an island makes them sympathetic, which is an interesting take because (unless they were born in the state they exist now) they began life as a regular child before mutating into a giant, bizarre monster. That would cause a great shame and reason to lash out because they can’t pass for human at any level. Having Cypher around allows someone to communicate, finally, and understand Krakoa’s problems. May not change a lot, but Cypher’s ability means they can learn the monster’s motives.
House of X is so so good! It's been so long since I read an X-Men that feels like X-Men, and I started reading X-Men in '89. I'm currently ordering 4 covers of the physical Comic right now.
I'm not a comic reader but due to Marvel Studios getting X-Men, I decided to read this as I imagine it will probably be some of what the MCU ends up drawing upon and I have to say I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to finishing this series and Power of X.
Xavier is worrying me, and Magnito is acting like a badass. Nicely done Rob. I read books and comics and I can’t wait for the full volume of this to come out on Christmas Eve. I really didn’t understand the X-Men or the Weapons projects until you explained them. I wonder if it’s gonna be all out war with the Humans against Mutants, or if it’s all a conspiracy, that someone else is pushing both sides to a war. I like Humans but the X-Men don’t seem to deal with any of the good ones, they’ve all got to always deal with the bad apples of humanity. Good luck Humans you’re gonna need it, Godspeed X-Men.
Could not agree more, Rob. I've been reading X-Men for 30+ years and this story is amazing! The most excited I have been for an X-Men run in a long time.
I like how you explain the story especially the aspect of the human paranoia(strategizing and not knowing what your potential enemy or competitor is moving to or from) because that's what's happening with us in reality now.
Is anyone else shocked that Esme is alive? Is Sophie alive now too? Is the five-in-one back?! Also, STORM IS FINALLY FULLY ACKNOWLEDGED AS AN OMEGA LEVEL MUTANT!!!!!!!
Just the use of Krakoa alone was so clever to me and I love the intrigue and mystery now, it’s truly Science Fiction which X-Men does best to me! And Prof.X is a whole new man now
That's cool but the question is will they do anything with her character, i don't see Ro being omega level as a big deal because i know even with a new writer they always shove to background.
Iceman is my fav omega level mutant ever since he froze all the water in Legions body leading up to the age of Apocalypse. Emma frost was the first to realize Bobby was Omega level when she took over his body.
"I have a new word for the lexicon of man: KRAKOA. And in the future, when you speak it, make sure you do so softly and with proper deference. For we will be listening." -MAGNETO
I started reading “The Uncanny X-Men” as a 14-year old boy in 1988. I’m now a 45-year old man and “House Of X” has me feeling like a kid again! This book is DOPE!!!
Man this man Jonathan Hickman basically fixed my addiction from his story with Image Comics in Black Monday Murders with House of X. This man's complex writing is next level. We are in for a treat!!
That final line by magneto sent chills down my spine and it really embodies why he is my favorite villain in marvel comics and second favorite comic book villain of all time
aww, a bit sad that they removed Jean from being omega level in both telepathy and telekinesis... maybe she'll grow into it eventually? idk. but really cool that they're tightening up definitions. really looking forwards to the next issues. the series has immense potential.
So pumped for this. I need a comic buddy to hash it out with. Somethings definitely up with Chuck. Cyke and Wolvy were acting off, Jean was picking up on something before Chuck suppressed her, the cuckoo's were damn near slave like. One thing I didn't see anyone piont out though Magneto was his ordinary self.
Just read it and then listened to your commentary. Spot on and I loved it. Totally excited about this arc and hope you continue to do a breakdown going forward. Long live apocalypse!! We need more of that guy! Totally unrelated but I know you feel it too lol
I kinda liked that moment with Rahne. It showed depth of character and need to feel normal. I wish that it was an actual threat to her as opposed to some guys she could easily beat but I got the intent
This is one of the best comics I've read in 2019. Everyone read this, that's a public service announcement. I like how you briefly mentioned how Hickman picked up on a few threads that Claremont teased about during his stupidly long run on the X-Men. Claremont left so many loose threads from his time writing X-Men that's it's ridiculous. Of course he left so many things unresolved because he genuinely thought he would be writing X-Men forever, and could tie them up whenever he wanted. Considering how popular X-Men became because of Claremont, I'm not surprised he thought that way.
That was such a stupid line and 30-year-old edgelords who act like 14 y/o boys always regurgitate that same line. That’s like my grandma saying I wouldn’t have survived in the 60s, yeah modern day me displaced in time wouldn’t be too accepting of that. Go figure.
This awesome. I really needed this vid as I recently jumped back into my comic store for this solely for this event! I usually find your vids sometime hard to watch as it jumps into different tangents but this one perfect! Thank you! I only have one question... how did Xavier come back? Last time I was reading he died back in AvX. It’s been a while 😅
Couple of things you missed Rob: Jean, Scott and other mutants were being rebirthed in some pods for some reason (May have something to do with magnetos line about them being gods) The flowers being planted by various X-Men were habitat flowers. Nightcrawler planted his on the moon and Armor planted hers on Mars. Meaning KRAKOA ALSO EXISTS IN SPACE Also the implication is that Xavier is collecting omega level mutants. They are the “most valuable resource.” And Scott tells the F4 that Franklin is welcome to come to Krakoa (ergo the X-Men want Franklin Richards) The human space station was created around a mastermold head, and there are multiple omega sentinels (it was said they were out mining), so the humans have an army of mutant killing robots and can make more. Also the mutants created their own language (you can figure some of the letters out just by how the letters spell “House of X” on the cover) This book is dope, can’t wait for issue 2 and Powers of X next week
Possibly the best first issue I've ever read. Like period. The tone, the absolute magnitude of it all, I really think we are all in for something incredible.
So I'm pretty sure that these pills are gonna try to turn humanity into mutants, and because Xavier has been making clones the original X-Men are gonna come back from somewhere and stop him. The end
Orchis monitoring certain benchmarks in mutant re-population and their influence in finance and government. Mutants monitoring humans and their benchmarks on the way to Artificial Intelligence. Fascinating stuff. Hickman is a comics God
They don’t give Magneto his do! I kno metal is supposedly almost accessible everywhere But why doesn’t he carry and vibranium or uru or adamanium on his costume? Like just a thin layer? And he’ll he’s the master of magnetism! He should be able to manipulate even metals without ferromagnetic or stuff like that just bc on the molecular lvl there is
Rob you and your knowledge of comics is astounding. The MCU or Kevin Feige should definitely hire you for your knowledge and Ideas for future stories to be adapted to film. Like seriously. Your awesome 😃👏🏆👍
