@@Kpaceguy Quick question if you are watching a movie or content in Dolby Atmos, does the sound bar automatically detect that or do you have to turn on the VRT-X for that as well?
@@CannoliSasquatch you have that roku tv ready version ryte??. That one was not that great. Try to find the original version. I promise you volumes don't go above 15 it'll shake the floor
Nice!! I have the first one....the pros about this new one, it decodes both Dolby and DTS, the 2 rear speakers and it's 1000watts the con is you lose an HDMI port
@@reelsheels210 listen to what I'm saying connect to the port change the settings on the TV & bam. I'm telling you what ta do. I watch dts content via Blu ray
Nice job on the presentation ! I heard the same new soundbar and I was blown away ! I'm gonna get one for sure . I cam across your page and I was impressed with you ! Thank you for your time Sir !!!!!!
Vizio is very good for the price. My M51 Dolby Atmos was just on sale for $250 with Amazon Prime Day, but i got it few months ago at Best Buy $299. Nakamichi Soundbar one of the high end super good ones but expensive like $800-900. But it has a 10" subwoofer that hits 30 HZ.
Didn't expect to be back so soon, but here I am. Setup was an absolute breeze. Currently taking her on her maiden voyage watching Dune 2. For $200, I'm definitely impressed. Satellite speakers are a lot less noticeable than I expected/would like, but I'm sure I can change that in the settings.
Thanks for the great review. I'm thinking about getting a new Samsung OLED and was shocked by some of the soundbar prices. I happened to hear a demo of this model today in Walmart and was very impressed. For $200 I think I could give it a try. Hey, if I don't like it, they have a nice return policy.
Ironically I just got a Samsung S90D OLED for my apartment and was looking for a soundbar and was looking at this model. What do you think? How does it play with the TV?
Very good presentation of this sound bar. I have an older S4251W-B4 from 2013 . It still pumps but doesn't give all the newer features that this onn does. I also upgraded my TV, so i believe the sound bar should be replaced. I've been looking at this sound bar for last two weeks, and now that I have seen your video and some comments, I will pull the trigger in a few minutes. Thanks for sharing your video and opinion.
@Kpaceguy You're welcome. For some reason, these are selling fast. There were about 7 left last night, and when I went to purchase it, they were all sold out, lol.
@@Kpaceguy It is working very well, the movies with dolby atmos and the sound settings are really good. Movies like The Batman, Top Gun Maverick and some others. That movie mode actually works pretty well and if the wife finds it a little high pitched, I just put on Music mode. Thanks again.
I cannot express how important and meaningful it is that you answer back these questions I know I'm not the only one that really appreciates that but I've got another one so when I'm watching RU-vid when I turn on a video I noticed it says Dolby surround but whenever I play my switch it says PCM
That's because the switch doesn't have dolby surround or anything like that. Its an analog signal converted into a digital signal. PCM means it's converting the signal.
@@Kpaceguy yeah I had forgotten all about that I'd heard that and then after I posted that comment I had to leave and yeah I remember that LOL.. on my LG TV though I guess it's called simplink whenever I turn that off my remote stops controlling my TV but if I turn my TV off after I turned off the simp link it automatically turns the simp link back on and that turns on sound bar.. LOL I just can't get it to stop turning it on..it satys simp link (cec)
I want to really say thanks for this video I was on the fence about this sound system . But I enjoyed your complete review, settings etc So I got it … It’s perfect for me and my first half hour using it, It’s pretty dam good ! Again Thanks for the video review !
Found the reason why my Onn Dolby atmos was lagging when I put on a movie for the first few seconds. I also found out why the Dolby Atmos feature doesn’t really work and got it to work. 1: the cable required for Dolby Atmos while using eARC is NOT HDMI 2.0. HDMI 2.0 will read on the cable “High Speed”. Unfortunately, PS5 AND the Onn Dolby Atmos set ups came stock with HDMI 2.0. Now…Dolby Atmos CAN work with HDMI 2.0 if your HDMI connection to your TV is the older version that says “ARC”. But…it will NOT work with the newer version of that port that says eARC. eARC requires a HDMI 2.1 cable. So, you need to buy TWO HDMI 2.1 cables for everything to work flawlessly. The reason I had lag was because I had a HDMI 2.1 cable going from my ps5 to my TV but was using the stock HDMI 2.0 that came with the Onn Dolby Atmos set up. Lastly, HDMI 2.0 can carry up to 18 Gigabytes per second (Gbps). More data translates into higher resolution (better picture) and clearer, more in-depth sound but HDMI 2.1 can transmit up to 48 Gbps. This increase in bandwidth capacity makes some pretty amazing things possible in the world of audiovisual technologies. By the way…HDMI 2.1 will ALWAYS be labeled “Ultra High Speed” on the cable. If it does not and says “High Speed” it is a 2.0 So by using 2 HDMI 2.1 cables, I stopped the input lag or delayed response and I got true Dolby Atmos. Btw, I asked the guy at Walmart about the cable they used and go figure, the one provided for the display is a 2.1 which doesn’t come with the package when a consumer buys it. I provide a link from Dolby on everything I just stated below this comment and hope this helped. www.dolby.com/en-gb/experience/home-entertainment/articles/hdmi-2.1-arc-and-earc-explained
May be that is the reason I am not seeing Dolby Atmos on the soundbar and just seeing Dolby surround. Thank you so much for this tip as I was struggling with all the settings on soundbar, devices and streaming apps to see that magical Dolby Atmos line on the sound bar. Do you have any recommendation on which cable you got for HDMI 2.1?
Nice system they actually released another sound bar that’s just 5.1 but still passes Atmos… for the price point not a bad system I wish onn would at least make a more high end model in there line with more drivers & maybe more eq settings
I purchased this system yesterday and watched Jurassic Park on bluray and was blown away. Great sound! I initially had a strange audio delay on my first use, but powering the sound system off then on seems to have corrected it. Did you notice this at all on yours? Connected using auxiliary wire to a projector
Keep the older version onn soundbar, because I went to Walmart yesterday and got the new 5.1 onn soundbar and after an hour I returned it because it's cheap garbage out of the box. I couldn't get the rear speakers to work, and the soundbar shut off on me. . It's true, you get what you pay for!
Wondering if could buy two more onn speakers and place them on the side. probably not but this system seems like some good quality on the lower side of a budget
How is the dialogue mix with these speakers? With my current setup, music and fx are loud and dialogue is too quiet. Would these speakers fix my issue?
@@KrAyZi3GaMinG Damn, so is the durability going to be the same as Vizio since I'm worried hearing about older One products not working after few months or having severe bugs
@@Anonymous-l1qHonestly Vizio means nothing. Onn is 50/50 on quality The previous 5.1.2 and the chromecast they have are fantastic with the Onn beating the official chromcast. I never bought what is on the video and I am sure it is better, but I ain't in a hurry since I bought the old one due to rollback/clearance and its great for a small room while this is for more open areas.
Right also have u listened to the new klipsch rp 8000f ii some say the sound is more neutral was considering it but there is also dali oberon 5 not sure if u heard these looking for a a good floorstander for my yamaha rx v6a
My subwoofer seems nonexistent but it is connected and working, what is going on? I had the old system it was great bought new one because of the rear speakers but the amp doesn’t seem to be nearly as good? What is the issue?
You had mentioned you can turn up the rear 2 speakers…. Mine only come on during some RU-vid movies or Apple TV shows. Is there a way to turn them up or have them on full time ?
@nametaken24 because the older model ended up being that price towards the end of its lifetime so I guess they just wanted to refresh and keep the price. It's a steal!
hello can't get this be shipped in Asia, too sad as I contacted Walmart. my options will be Ultimea D70 without dolby atmos but 7.1 or D60 with dolby atmos but only 5.1 or S80 perhaps. which one can you recommend that is budget friendly?
What other question I have have you figured out a way to make it where your sound bar doesn't turn on when your TV does I've just unplugged the HDMI cord I'd rather not do that but I have easy access to it I just don't want it to come on every single time that way it lasts longer..lol.. but you said you had that other one for 4 years did you use that every day? And every time you turned on your tv? I have to say if so I'm pretty impressed I have a Vizio a 32 inch and it sounds pretty good I replace the back speakers with on speakers LOL but I used it every day for a year all day long too and it still kicking I just wanted something a little bigger and this is definitely bigger lol
You're going to wind up damaging your HDMI port connecting and disconnecting it over and over sooner than you would running your sound bar Everytime your TV is on
@@Kpaceguyhey thanks for getting back with me I tried disabling the simplink on my LG TV and it worked but when I turn my TV back on again the soundbar also came on
@@UONealyou are 100 billion times right that's my biggest fear so I'm just going to leave it plugged in I mean I have a backup Vizio that I had zero problems with it worked for that it just didn't turn on I had to turn it on myself
@boogie2852 I have an LG CX and somewhere in the setting there is HDMI-CEC. That is the feature that turns on and off anything connected to it. The only thing you can do, if you can't find the setting, is to turn the sound mode to tv speakers before turning it off that way the sound bar isn't listed as an audio source.
I bought the first on several years ago and I hooked it up to the internet and I change the quality of the sound. is there a way to fix it that you k ow of?
I have a thing, I’m using a JBL 500 on my bedroom but it’s too loud for it so I’m gonna move it to the living room, idk if this is good for my bedroom 🤔
Please review this one and the ultimae posedion D60 side to side! I would wanna buy this Onn in walmarte but I live in Ecuador, my dad is at the US so I asked him to bring one for me, am worried the bar ONN ans subwoofee would be complicated to carry in his traveling bags, the bar seems too long am afriad i can damage in the traveling bag , any toughts please help thank you( so yeah I just bought the poseidon D60 in Amazon because of the size and also my room is normal not too big please help)
@Kpaceguy yes I came from that video ☺️ BUT my question is , the onn walmart new bar is too long to fit an a travel bag ? That's what am afraid, I can ask my dad to buy it for me to bring to Ecuador but I don't want him to have trouble on his way to ecuador 🙈
@@Kpaceguy no doubt.. I could see that.. one more quick question, do you happen to know the frequency? Most of these cheaper units, the sub only goes down to about 50hz, while the more expensive ones reach down to 20,30 hz..
I have this one I really love it with movies holy crap it sounds good I am getting a bit of an echo noise when I'm using my switch I have the soundbar hooked up arc to tv and switch to tv.. did I do that right? It seems like if I took the switch up to the sound bar it doesn't sound as good
Man I watched your video and 30mins later went and bought it and I am super disappointed the main sound bar works but you can barely hear the rear and sub like it’s whisper quiet I’m sure it’s a defective unit onn seems like shit you must’ve got lucky
No brother I tried different inputs and and sound modes and types of content with both rear speakers up to 5 and sub up to 5 still super quiet. I’m not trying to be mean but I feel like you’re defending a sub par product for some reason either they all suck or by the looks of the comments there seems to be a batch of defective units. On top of that you seem to be implying to other people that they’re technically incompetent for sharing that they have defective units. Good day!
@austinplum3229 I don't have to defend it I don't have any ties to Walmart or Onn. I'm trying to help you troubleshoot it and figure out what's going on. Yes the rear speakers aren't that loud I have mine almost maxed out but I want to make sure that you've tried everything. If the soundbar doesn't detect a surround sound signal the rear speakers will not be on. If you go to Netflix and watch a movie in 5.1 surround or dolby atmos and it doesn't work then yes your soundbar isn't working well.
Yes and if i pick them up o can barely hear anything. I didn’t want true surround sound. I want the true satellite speakers that play the same as on the soundbar
Ok well back to the store they go. I used to do that thru a stereo receiver and set it to full 5 for sound output but didn’t want a clunky receiver anymore. Oh well
