Not a bad option. I believe it’s a good addition to the arsenal. I particularly like that the knobs don’t over compensate. Very well presented. Good to see you brother! 🤘🏼

@covery I am thinking about getting it as well, how do you like it so far? I like that it has a different vibe.

@@mixc8 just stayed up way too late doing A/B with an Underground Accelerator and a Slampegg. Both very similar and able to give warmth and tube heft/saturation. The Elementary is a little more modern and scooped and bright to my ear which I disliked with my setup for the most part. Haven’t messed around with changing the tubes but I keep the gain below noon so it seems a fun idea to stick a lower gain tube in there to increase the sweet spot.

@@coveryourears3851 Thanks brother for the hard work, I see the Venus X is a little $$$, I think it's a interesting pedal but I want to see if its worth the $$$

Sounds definetly unique , but just not my cup of tea. Other people can definetly need it more than me .Also I noticed , Im actually the guy who likes darkglass and ampeg distortion xD. But its nice to see that companies try diffrent things , as having the same thing can be pretty boring. Also noticed that we both have completly opposite tones. Still, a really good review from you👍🏾

That unit sounds like it can cover a wide range of tones for various styles, as you mentioned. I’ve never used a preamp pedal but the Sushi Box would be in the running if I were to ever add one. It sounded like you threw is some jazzy sounding bits during your noodling. It sounded good.

I really like this pedal, what a change of pace! Brother McG I see you have a Track Life stand but how do you have the pedal connected to it? This would be a great setup for me in my recording studio when I am trying out pedals and don't want to reach down to a pedal board :) and great playing as usual.
@RodneyMcG
@RodneyMcG 9 месяцев назад
I'm just running cables as normal. I tie them in a mini snake to the stand. Super cheap way to do it is just get a monitor / camera clamp holder for a mic stand and a cheap mic stand. Use the clamp to hold the pedal, and the cables down the pole with velcro ties to attach them. Does the job!

@@RodneyMcG i have a topic for Metal Bass Monday: what's your take on Metal producers on youtube? Are they disrispectful towards bass or is it just ignorance? (knowing most of them are guitar players with a Bob Rock's complex), i know you must be aware about Singularity, the virtual bass plugin SMG is currently selling to replace "your rule n°2" (a.k.a. your bass players suck). But aside of that, i find that most of them when they talk about bass recording tend to say the same 3 things: play with a pick, play hard, let your guitar player do the recording for you. It's annoying AF.
@RodneyMcG

@@nuldorvamoysenor2091 You're reading my mind, my friend! I have 2 videos coming that talk about this, and we just recorded a podcast for season 2 that talks about it as well.

"Flavor of the week" Ha! Nice metaphor. I think the only DG that's worth it is the X-Ultra since it has built-in high-pass and low-pass filter as well as a full band compressor. I only really use that for live, though. You can do all that fun stuff with stock pkugins in your DAW if you really want to. This was a pretty cool vid.

Thanks! I don't have an issue with Darkglass, just people that overuse it for the same sound and the endless copy pedals
