@@geonheekim7465 This is the last track that Ian wrote. There are only two recordings of them playing it before Ian passed. Bernard had to listen to those two crappy recordings to get the lyrics that we have now. I think of Ian with this song as well.
Of course I love like hell Ceremony, but the best?? this is too much to be said. I would say "the one I like most". So, Ceremony is one of my JD´s favorites, indeed.
Amazing. New Order and particularly, Bernard Sumner, have played this song for the last forty plus years.....and it's still belongs to Ian Curtis and Joy Division....and JD never even formally recorded it.
... Ok we've not played this song on this... tour.. yet. "Bernard is so antagonistic about the past. Ceremony and the Joy Division albums are why he is where he is standing there in the first place.
This is why it's so unnerving Witnessing the same old story This is why the wheels are turning Gone away and turn again this time Listen now the savior's calling Come again but we won’t be here Looking back as I walk faster Think again and change its way this time Oh, I'll break them all no mercy shown, heaven knows it's got get somewhere Watching her, in a sinking ship The time she cried, but failed to wake this time I'll break them all no mercy shown, heaven knows it’s got to be this time Avenues all lined with trees, picture me in ten years time watching Watching forever Watching forever Forever, let it be so Forever, let it be so Let it be so Always be so Line 9 was later sung as: "It’s got to lead somewhere" on the 14th May, 1980 version If anyone doubts "...picture me in ten years time watching" on line 13, I suggest you listen to the Still album version.
In my effort to find New Order professional HD footage live, I have to sift through some person’s cell phone footage they took. God damn it, please stop this. Congratulations you were there but @&!
3:42 Love it favorite part is the outro 🥹 “Forever, watching love grow Forever, letting me know Forever” Reminding my past lover in a vision fading away with this outro 🥲
I went to see Peter Hook and the Light, they play a lot better and he sings both Joy Division and New Order songs a brilliantly compare to that other band Bernard is in makes out to be New Order.
@@nottmfunguy As if he sounded in tune back in the 80s???? Bernard being a terrible vocalist is part of what made New Order so iconic. One of few bands that leveraged having a singer who couldn't sing to such a perfect degree throughout their career. Yeah he sounds like crap now but he also sounded like crap 40 years ago LOL
