Got a chance to film a few more videos on the weekend, heres part 1 of the new RX4 tent with the zip in floor and front room. The next video will be demonstrating some kitchen and bedding options that suite this tent style :) Kaito.

Speaking of fire, I always keep a sharp knife handy inside my tent, so I can exit very quickly and in any direction, in case of an emergence.

With regards to the zip on the bag and water ingress. I have an "original" Oztent...the green and gold version. It has served me well for well over 15 years and is still going strong. (The bag is looking a bit sorry for wear though). The tent travels in its bag on the roof with the zip down and facing to the rear. It works...minimal water ingress.

Mate, the front owning is for daytime shelter from the sun. Not to remain open or to worry about rain. It’s a fantastic design imo

Camera man did a good job of getting all the details. Thankyou!

For me the older design makes more sense. I've never been into tents that are like houses. It's just getting too complicated for me for camping. Love the new tarp. That's very cool.

Good stuff. Nice to see the amount of water the rain tarp captures. I quite like the new RX range as well.

I really like the water catchment system! I love my oz tent Rv3, I have been touring for over a year and been living in it every day, I just need to get a fixnzip for my fly screen which has broken. I wish they had a fly system that extended over the awning. Mine has been smashed by uv and is starting to rip a little to easily. Saying that I would defiantly get another.

Looks great guys. Would you have normally put the floor saver down too under both the front and rear sleeping sections ??

I wonder if with the moon roof open and the fly attached, would this remedy the problem of condensation building up inside the tent.

Nice change to the internal frame. Bottom/back hinged strut no longer tight against the material. My RV1 has two lovely holes/patches/holes/patches/holes/patches from the hinges when you fold it in the "bathtub". Not that old either.

I thought the material was different. As soon I seen one of these new Oztents, I said, this is different.

Great improvements over the RV4. BUT, is it more expensive...?

Luke you're a legend and your stuff is awesome. I don't understand why oztents are so popular. Poor design fiddly erection. Besides lining up to an awning I think the old blackwolf canvas turbo tents are far superior.

I really appreciate the video and your passion. But whoa! What a time consuming setup for a tent. I haven't used a Oztent. I think I'd prefer a instant up type.

I'm not sure the US market would ever have the patients to set up a tent like that. Pretty cool, but so many bits and pieces to put together...

I have two RV5s. Its not a 30sec tent and I really wish Oztent would stop the false advertising. If you want to setup the tent so as to comply with the instructions and have any hope of a warranty claim, the thing has to be pegged out properly. Therefore, its not a 30sec tent.

Peter Phillips typo I think it meant to say min not sec

Definitely not a tent you would setup and rundown a few times a week if moving around, to many bits and pieces and too bulky,

Polycotton or nylon despite its fireproofing will both give you condensation if it lacks ventilation. Still no rain proof see through windows so on a dull cold day with the covers all closed its like sitting in a mine shaft! Over rated, over priced and not getting any better with design.

edward charles well there is plenty of ventilation really, actually.. rear window is huge, and it’s covered.. also at the top, under cover, door, under cover, ie can be open wen raining.. also side windows are covered when the fly is on.. so not sure about being lacking ventilation.. it’s one of Australia’s most popular tents.. nothing else really comes close, they have a global fan base, who love the product.. not much needs to be done to the design, as it’s basically perfect.. shame they couldn’t continue and design other related products, such as a RTT, etc, but the oztent itself is a very successful product and has been for 17 years.. price, well money is always relative isn’t it... : ) L
