It's actually beautiful to see people putting so much time into this game even after all these years. I remember getting this game for my 8th christmas back in 2008 on the PS3 and being completely blown away by it, I couldn't even tell you how many times I replayed it back then. I couldn't of imagined this would still be an almost 1 of a kind game 15 years later lol.
It's really mind-bending to me that there wasn't a sequel with this exact formula! Catalyst is good but misses the mark on almost 100% of the things that made mirrors edge the goat!
as someone who did a little bit of parkour the original roll animation was always my biggest gripe with the game, this new one looks 100% accurate to what I would do/see in real life. very nice!
I love what you did with the springboard animation, swinging her arms to jump The standard running jump looks a little weird with her elbow going in front like that, I feel like swinging her arms would make more sense, but overall I love this. Looks so smooth and realistic
If I knew how to make mods like this personally I'd try making the wallrun 3 steps and spreading the steps out, if I wanted to go for a realistic feel to it. I like how the base game feels too tho
Just did a play session with these anims, around 120 fov. No longer felt like medge. Felt like i was a runner, my body had real i dunno inertia and weight shit felt real Fucking awesome mod
i will never be able to forget this gem of a game. this is an atmosphere and a feeling more than a game. The city and it's super punchy colored interiors create these moods man..
wow those animations are fantastic, and then this video's camera movement and transitions are buttery smooth, almost closer to catalyst. the ending had me lmao
Overall the animations are pretty solid. Just some bits of suggestion though: - Try to minimalize the standing idle movements. (This seems to cause a bug where if you turn around, your body would be at some point off sync from your body) - The jump coil is pretty okay, although the hand movement still could have some bits of tweaking. (Try making hand movement more smoother by making the hands slowly going up first before spreading out, if you catch my drift) Good work!
This is why Mirror's edge is a great or even the best parkour game I've ran into. The environment is more inconvenient for parkour, there are still some ramps leading to something, yes, but there's more to traverse and get through, as well as going inside buildings more often.
This looks fucking fantastic. It looks like more than just animations were changed, she seems faster and more fluid as well. Definitely gonna try these out. Some feel very similar to Catalyst, were they ported or merely inspiration?
Dude this is awesome! A few questions I have: 1) What FOV is this on? 2) It looks like there's some motion blur. Was that added through a mod or did you add that yourself with video editing software?
I really like those, it makes the game feel a lot more "alive" and modern. I was wondering, is the usual "fall damage" animation replaced with the one we see at the crane jump in Chapter 3?
its awesome i used in mirrors edge and its really nice to use only real thing thats annoying is that with 120 fov with the tweaks mod sometimes makes the camera clip through the wall

I would hardly call them "improved", like the mod's name suggests, but they are pretty cool. Certainly add a very distinct visual flair to the gameplay
