I really need some feedback and suggestions from all of you, the mod will be better if I get some cool ideas from the community! Also, v0.6 is on its way! there will be a lot of changes... :) And about the 10:10, i can definitely add a zipline here! 12:26, I will detail this part in this update! 15:10, thanks for the idea! And also, i don't really want to modify the Birdman's OOB, I want to leave it in the original state, but maybe, in the future updates, i may fix some things in it!
What about spicing up some of the elements, instead of having just a huge long pipe, they are split into different sections or combined with a half extended ladder, pole etc. I guess some of them are meant for "get to place x as quickly as possible" Edit : I see some are like that. Is it possible to add in aircon boxes or balcony structures, or is that not possible yet?
@@RennieAsh i can add more aircons for sure, but not the balconies, as they are the parts of a building (gonna have a look in the game files to be sure)
Haha! Dude, you're awesome! Happy to do a video on this one. I can't wait to see how this evolves and hopefully the more people see it, the more this project can expand. Thanks for being here!
6 year old game and its still looks amazing compared to 2022 games. This game had so much potential, in my opinion one of the best looking worlds in gaming
I feel like Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is made with two main ideas in mind: Runner accessibility and, perhaps more importantly, aesthetics. The beauty of The City Of Glass in Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is in fact the main reason I bought this game.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst deserved so much better than it got. The atmosphere of the game is immaculate and it has the single greatest first person parkour ever. Dying Light could never. But it has no content unless you're really into middling stories and endless time trials. Lucky for me, I am into those things. New content will definitely be welcome though
I'm an Architect and fellow Mirror's Edge fan. I know this video is a year old, but if you and the gentleman who created these mods wouldn't mind creating some tutorials on how to access the games internals, I would love to learn how to mod the game and create more detailed architecture in the unexplored areas. I have some modding experience, but not extensive.
still insane how the community for mirrors edge is still alive after all these years its a shame they stopped after catalyst and didnt make another one
I feel like if they refined catalyst's formula and gave it another try, the third game might have been great. But who knows, maybe EA will reanimate this franchise again one day. I have a feeling they might at some point.
@@21shanks there are no games like these. Assassins creed is the closest, but parkour in a modern setting is definitely filled by mirrors edge. They’d be so dumb to let this genre die!
This is amazing so in some years we could explore full city of glass if Modders could collab to install new assets and collision.Maybe even grab onto drones/ vtols to get to new areas like in the campaign mission. More ksec patrols maybe even have scripts for the enemies to actually chase the player like the pursuit cop this also opens up possibilities for ground exploration, trains, cars, boats trams. And finally if possible maybe a multiplayer, roll animation fix and maybe a front flip animation.
sadly, frostbite doesn't support moving entities in catalyst, like the ones in mirrors edge 1, which you can stand on and maybe travel across the road(like in the freeroam custom map), if you try to stand on the v-tol or the drone, you will just fall down...
About multiplayer, technically it is possible to do with cheat engine and a server - cheat engine will transfer your coordinates to the server and another player will receive them and will see you in their world! (really short explanation)
@@AID1788 would it be impossible to just take the drone/ vtol that the player grabs onto in the campaign missions duplicate it put in open world and give it a new flight path so that player could grab onto it in free roam?
Would love to be able to travel on the street level a bit more. Aside from Rezoning and that one area where you go help free Icarus I wish they gave us more opportunities to see Glass from the streets, and give the city a sense of scale. Inclement weather would also be great! It only rains in the beginning level!
I'd love to see more indoor areas and/or just more city in general. Would also be nice to see more closely some of the stuff hinted at in the lore, but that's a bit much for just a mod. Either way, very happy to here modders are as into this game as some of the rest of us are.
You said it perfectly. When the game came out, it didn't have the exploration I was hoping for. Even today the vanilla game feels like it was halfway done.. I'm really happy the modding community is slowly making catalyst the game it should have been at launch because it really does have a ton of potential.
I'm hoping in the future modders and AI can create new levels, new missions, or even a new Mirror's Edge game altogether. EA doesn't care about this game anymore. This game is a place you want to live in.
Yea dude, just getting to high spots and seeing the sprawling city instead of being limited in the boxy playground definitely gives the awe-inspiring feeling we all wanted from ME.
I really wish there was a mod that changed the rolling animation to the one in the trailers. I think you can still do it by jumping while crouched or something, but to have it as the actual roll animation would be awesome.
Haha, I'm one of the few. I can't deny though that a big portion of my fanbase are huge Mirror's Edge fans. So, whenever I upload something related, it's always a crowd pleaser. Thanks for sticking around all this time by the way.
Thank you @AID1788 for this awesome mod. I don't have many suggestions as for now but i would love if you could just add a feature that faith can sit on the edge of a building and just view the scenery :)
19:11 you can jump on those stairs climb to the top, go next building. I for one would rather prefer OOB areas to be textured, some items to make it prettier and collisions where it's needed for ghost buildings, but that's harder with out the game engine...
I don’t understand why videogames in the future didn’t adopt mirrors edge walking and running style of movement and instead are still to this day making walking and running separate buttons
@@cybershellrev7083 exactly ur right by the why my question tho was why wouldn’t other 1st person games adopt mirrors edge style of navigation? the momentum is a just another piece of the games mechanic in order to illustrate faiths speed in relation to her movement it’s literally no different than a driving game All I’m sayin is mirrors edge did regular walking and running the best in my opinion. To this day games still make walking stuck to the left stick while making the run/sprint button a separate button from the left stick why do this when u can pair walking and running to the left stick which frees up a button u could have used to add in a new mechanic For instance could u imagine having faiths skill set in something like Fallout 4 or Skyrim scaling castles to leap to that dragon for the final blow
Mirror edges maps feels too linear, and most open areas like the construction site feels half complete. This mod seems really cool but but finding ways to connects the more linear areas without too much grappling around/ new detailed areas. Catalyst still manage to fix my parkour fix during winter since I play to find cool routes that aren't necessarily how the devolpers wanted you to do stuff but it's kinda hard sometimes bc some areas are just boring tbh
Cool.. 19:08 you can jump onto and climb staircase just to the left and carry on some ways further.. some really nice additions but at a few spots i can't help but feel a little sad that previously inaccessible locations except by glitches are now accessible by a a simple magrope lol awesome job
What would be really cool to see is more dialogue but I think that’s something for devs to do in ME3. I think it would be best to keep to just the rooftops since that’s the point of the story. They honestly could make it just as open world as Cyberpunk and it could actually compete on many levels. Maybe in a few decades they’ll collaborate somehow and unite the two games in the same universe. Fun little idea
Ironically, distance has the same kinda parkour that mirror's edge has, despite being a car game. Would also love if there was a proper cyberpunk like game set in glass city. We've seen most cyberpunk type games like deus ex, etc. be set in dark, damp, dingy cities. But it'd be cool to have one set in glass city. Could offer a unique setting.
Are you using any kind of visual mod? This looks very similar to ME 1, and not at all how I remember Catalyst looking. I prefer this look much more than the original catalyst one tbh.
When I go running through the map, I see A LOT of zones and I say "bro, that zone is perfect for running, Why didn't they make it accessible?" (I still waiting for a ME3 😔)
a multipplayer with different modes would be amazing. Imagine playing catch here with some friends. another one is a horror based mode at night with flash light where you all have to finish an objective while being chased or something.
There is a mod where u can hook on every surface like spiderman its cool and stuff but i would install it only if u finished the gsme normaly cuz its bit broken. But give cool movement options and u can get like everywhere
Hey bro I really like this mod, I have a couple questions, Will this affect any of the online challenges or Missions also what do you guys recommend to install it? I am using Steam.
Yoooo broooo, any idea if in the future the mod will feature in steam's mod community? Would be cool if you add more side missions, one being bringing back those runners that chase after you in mid to ending part of og mirEdge
May I ask what PC specs are needed to get this looking its best? I've been a console gamer my whole life, but I've almost built a gaming PC. The console version just looks terrible compared to this. I want to be able to play on my Tv and use a controller. I wish consoles had mods. I can't see why the PS5 or Series X couldn't handle this. Would love to have Dualsense features added as well and 3d audio. This series is also one of my favorites of all time. Such wasted potential.
Hey dude! So my rig is going on 7 years old at this point. I'm still rocking 2x Nvidia 980Ti's but Catalyst only uses one card. One thing about DICE games is they're notoriously well optimized on PC (although Catalyst is one of their heaviest games). This current video shows the game running at 4K (70% resolution scale ~ a bit higher than 1440p internally) and basically Ultra settings with High Effects and Medium Post Processing. Ultra is not the highest graphical option in this game though, Hyper is and it's much more intense so much so that I can't get a 60fps consistent without going down to 1080p. This game desperately needed a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X patch and like you mentioned, I would LOVE to have Dualsense support and 3D audio as well, also HDR! Sadly this game came out right before the PS4 Pro and Dice just forgot about it immediately, so I don't think it'll ever happen. These days, you can run this game on Hyper at 1440p or higher on a 3060Ti or better I would imagine. Hope that helps! edit: I should also mentioned I have a few mods installed which do make the game "pop" a bit more graphically. So, it's slightly better than the vanilla look.
@@IndustrialGamer Wow, I think the PS5 and Series X could easily run this at 4k@60. The mods are what I really want. They really add so much to the immersion. I'll never understand why developers don't hire these modders. I'm scared to ask, but what would a rig cost these days to run this and most new games at 4k@60? It seems Sony is porting all there exclusives now. Might be better to just sell both my consoles at this point. I just prefer the convenience and great price per value of a console. This series deserves so much better. Multiple sequels, an animated series and even a cheesy movie. Lol It's saddens me that originality takes a back seat compared to multiplayer loot box games. Love that you share the same passion for this game. Its seems many do. So many other series get that sell worse, get more sequels and attention. I think a 3rd game game would be amazing if they took the best of part 1, Catalyst and new refined elements that fans want. I wish we could petition for the console patches, but EA is too greedy. Thanks for all your videos! Please keep sharing all the new mods and breaking news. Thanks again!
@@IndustrialGamer hey mate, i checked you video and you only show how to install mods. not HOW TO MAKE my own. I want to make my OWN mods for ME:C not use somebody elses
they didn't push it out and "forget" about it. They completed the game and moved on. The desire for every single game to have DLC has been detrimental to the game's industry
Great mod for a mediocre game. If only it retained the magic of the original one with the "keeping up the pace and not hitting a wall is your reward" kind of thing, instead of blocking your moveset behind the Far Cry 3-esque skill tree, linear open world with the aesthetic that was hindering the visibility of the routes you can take and giving you the dash mechanic, which makes this game pointless (and it's challenges soulless, since you have to spam it after every sharp turn, so you can somehow get all the stars, where in the original the only thing that matters is the route you take and how you take it).
