#thrashinsupply #harleydavidson #mikuni Making progress on the 2001 FXDX! But first a look at our new softail brake arm, a visit to our friends over at Mikuni, and of course TACOS!
Steve is amazing. The shop that installed my HSR 42 used the Harley choke cable without switching to the Mikuni part like he showed Juan so the choke was always on. I brought the carb to Steve in a box and he showed me the problem, asked about my bike and recommended different jets and needle settings. He gave me the parts for free! I installed them and the bike rips. In 5 minutes he diagnosed and fixed a complicated problem that my shop could not. I knew something was off when the tuner that installed it said that you never need to use the choke with his setup. He had been making this mistake on everyone's bikes.
I will fly from NC to buy that green dyna fix it up and ride it back to NC. Let your friend know!! Yeah pretty serious. Y’all can film it and everything. Throw on some Thrashin parts for the trip back!!
16:50 Look at that pipe, and then look at the pipe HD put on the 2018-2021 HD Sport Glide with the 107 CI. Almost identical in length. There is something very important about the length of that exhaust pipe and the amount of both back pressure and Horse Power that it makes. Think hard before you change out your double barrel shotgun pipes or shorten the length of your pipes with aftermarket exhaust systems.
Had a Mikuni carb on my 05 Nightrain, loved it, actually just bought a Mikuni throttle body for my '14 Street Glide, Mikuni are always up to some kind of Badassary!...You Guys do the coolest shit, Rubber Down Guys🤙🙌
The mikuni bikes were sick for old school rnd bikes sad to see then just sit there in the dust they need to be used and rebuild but still cool to see them 😎
Lol, love the way he makes it seem that Juan is a genius, That stuff is easier than you think bro. They teach that stuff in junior high now. Catch up with the times dude
0:55 is that a TI-83 graphing calculator? If Math and Physics teachers actually showed how this knowledge could be applied to things like motorcycles the world would be a better place. Assume Part 2 is going to be at the machine shop. Lets go.

Nerding out! I love the r & d! Juan, you have my dream job. I got my degrees and certs to go down a similar path but that’s not how it’s all worked out. Still made it into the industry and have my own 3d printer and laser for my side hustle making bike/lifestyle related goods. Y’all are such a great group and I hope to cross paths someday!

G’day Thrashin crew, can’t wait to see the brake lever on the market as I will be getting one, I know you guys haven’t finalised the design, do you think you can make the long arm of it adjustable for better height for braking or slightly have bend on the arm to give it a lift. Just a thought as I have a fxlrst and have all Thrashin risers bars pegs and floor board.so yeh you could say I’m a fan!!! Keep up with the vidz luv em, from OZ
@THRASHIN SUPPLY Building a motorcycle on a fxdx frame is like building a home on the San Andreas fault. Harley said they stopped making the fxr frame because it was too difficult. Omg what a stupid excuse. All the guys on unknown industries also prefer the fxr
