TC-5140 and TC-5150 are room temperature, addition/platinum curing silicone rubbers designed for making molds and parts. Featuring exceptional tear strength, low viscosity, 1:1 mix ratio, and a quick demold time, these systems are user friendly while producing high quality finished products. When used to make molds, the TC-5140 & TC-5150 are translucent enough to see through when casting into the mold cavity. For making parts, these systems are easily pigmented with BJB’s 8100 Series Silicone Pigments.

I'm glad you guys have 1:1 silicones. I was initially worried about running out of Part B for certain projects.

how many parts can be made from one mold ? what's the lifecycle of one mold

The general rule of thumb most experienced mold makers use when quoting mold life is 20-30 parts when casting polyurethane. There are several factors that can decrease or increase this quantity. Type of resin used, geometry of the part being demolded, quality of the part needed (shiny or matte), and mold releases used. We've seen as many as 50-100 parts, we've seen as few as 12.
