@@GaaraFPS 5v5’rs only compare the worst of ow1 to the best of ow2. Because thats their only argument. Less options, less skill, less interactions but they’ve coped themselves into believing 5v5 is in any way better.

i miss playing with another tank. People argue that your other tank sometimes would pick roadhog, but i would rather have a flanking roadhog and be alone of the front line, than what is OW2 where i am JUST alone on the frontline with no other tank

Right, because the launch double shield characters were SOOOO oppressive lol. Winston who sucked ass at launch with his (previously even larger) giant head hitbox and terrible bubble uptime, and Rein who can't do shit while he holds his shield and moved like he was walking through quicksand while shielding. Yes, Brig and Bap did contribute to the meta of double shield, but double shield meta was only possible because Orisa and Sigma could do so much while they sat behind their shields with range and combo potential with their abilities, as well as insane poke damage.

Bap+Brig/Zen also worked specifically because of how relatively easily Sigma and Ori could rotate CDs to create the ultimate bunker. Double shield was as much of a Sigma/Ori problem as Bap/Brig or Zen.

Baptiste (March) and Sigma (August) released in the same year, 2019; with Echo's release in April 2020, the game was mostly abandoned; and by the end of 2020, many were moaning about Double Shield.

Just because Orisia doesn't have her shield anymore...doesn't mean she not going to be a problem lol. Sigma still exists and Kirito now exists. I guess it show 6v6 community do have a very forgetful memory.

The game is dying because of core issues of the format brings. We don’t want this watered down game, instant value buttons, non thought provoking game. This game is so bad people are leaving and the game needs to die before people understand. This game is so brain dead easy now I could teach a hamster to point at a tank to couterswap another tank. It’s not a complicated game now it’s just a game that you shoot shoot shoot and that’s it, no strategy, no impact through decisions and less agency. Just a bad game

@@shocky377 true healers don't heal your dead. DPS don't pepper their tank to push them back, then their tank rushes you with back up (Dead). Everytime I play tank and expect to be supported by the team I just gave up on that fantasy, just play Hog and have fun while losing or winning

True but it would have also fallen apart if you had replaced sigma with rein. The comp only worked because all four characters (Bap, Brig, Orisa, Sigma) had such incredible synergy and were all broken at the time of the comp. If any of the double shield characters were reworked or removed the comp would cease to function. People keep trying to shove all the blame on to supps but it was really an even split between the tanks and the supports.

The whole point of 6v6 was the game could be easily balanced. Through supports. In 5v5 tank can’t core fundamental issue can’t be balanced

@@tffffbj5978 6v6 the big 2 problems were brig and orisa. Brawl was better in 6v6 and dive was immaculate in 6v6, they just kept adding strong poke/bunker hero’s orisa/sig/brig/bap till the meta was perma that. The devs killed ow1 and cant sustain an unhealthy ow2 either

I don't think they ever argued double shield is why 5v5 happened. Their main argument have always been queue times and will likely be said again. All I'm hoping is that they say more than that.

because tanks being op was the meta for most of ow1 life LOL 3 years of no updates and double shield with goat the 2/3 years before that will leave a lasting impression over what like 6 months of dive plus double shiled and 3 tanks were also meta for a bit in its early days so its not like the metas were that diverse LUL

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@knightsky4438goats was 8 months, it was really good comp for tank players but bad for dps players since they cant play dps but it was still very early on the game lifespan so the dev needed some work, when the game used to get updates every 2 weeks it was great until they started focusing on ow2 and abandoned ow1 with the double shield meta, 2CP was bad but atleast it was better than push on release or litterally in general

And lower ranks 6v6 is basically the 5v5 experience since the tanks were hardly ever coordinating, little to no synergy, or doing anything together anyway. Running on their own doing their own thing.

And what exactly caused double shield so broken that it killed overwatch 1? Have you ever looked at how op the AoE healing from Baptiste + Briggite was? Please look at this first before you blame shields or any other shit that were worst for the overwatch 1 era.

Tanking was a balance issue in OW1. It’s a format issue in OW2. Ppl didn’t like to take endless cc spam which has been reduced.
