Porsche just does everything right. Instead of having 5+ different SUV models, they just perfect 2 and offer different versions of them.

This is why people like Porsche. They release the Turbo versions as quickly as possible, within a few months, if not even weeks, after release of standard/base trims. BMW takes too long, sometimes a full year or more, to release full M versions of their cars, and that’s unimpressive in this day and age.

l just because you don’t like SUV coupes doesn’t mean car makers shouldn’t make them for others who actually prefer and want to buy them. It would be like saying your favourite clothes brand shouldn’t make shorts because you think they’re horrible and you prefer full length trousers. Come on now.

The best review by far of the cayenne,and I will take the normal version,I don't understand the suv coupe fashion,they look a bit ugly,except this one because is a porsche,and this coupe suvs are less practical,so I don't see why but never mind,every person waste their money in the way they want

I personally prefer the standard Cayenne because of the space you lose in the coupe version! If your buying an SUV I'd think you'd want more space for kids, dogs and cargo etc.. Can't understand this whole light weight sports thing because it's a heavy SUV and not a 911. Plus on top of that you lose the airiness of the glass roof which makes the interior look brighter and bigger! I think the sweet spot engine wise is the S with 434hp! Not crazy like the turbo but enough power to get you out of trouble when passing on those two lane roads like Thomas was. Think it's called time exposed to danger if I'm not wrong. Great review as always and really enjoy the channel!! Cheers from the city of brotherly love!

I think it’s an answer to a question no one was asking, from straight on from the rear it looked quite nice but all in all I think the normal Cayenne is nicer. The optional exhaust sounds absolutely incredible 👍🏻

Love these comparison reviews. They should help a lot to figure out which model to buy. Your old S-Max and Galaxy 2 in one review was the reason I have subscribed to this channel, it was super helpful. Its hard to spot all the differences when viewing similar cars at dealership, but in your long very detailed videos its much clearer.

Good review as always. The shutdown of 4 cylinders helps fuel economy but the downside could be early replacement of the 4 cylinders bank that is used more frequently because of wear and tear or the 4 cylinder bank used less frequently because of oil deprivation. The only way to avoid this would be to open it up on the highway or expressway. The American manufacturers used this on some trucks and many owners opt for a tuner plug-in on their OBD under the dash that will enable all 8 cylinders to operate for even wear at the cost of less fuel efficiency. This of course would preclude those under the Porsche warranty as it could be voided and one should probably wait until the warranty expires.

I just bought the 2022 AMG GLE 53 Mercedes-Benz Coupe, but I may have to take a look at this car in about 6 years for a trade-in. We shall see. I need a sun roof though.

It's sort of good to know the infotainment screen still gets blazing hot. We have a previous gen Turbo S, and like Thomas said, the screen gets uncomfortably hot to the touch for more than a couple seconds at a time.

Its true, I talked to the responsible engineer about it. The wind would just flow too fast over the car without creating any downforce. Otherwise they would not need two! Rear wings to fix that problem

After a while I get curious where it's filmed so at 41:23 I stop the video to look at road sign to look it up. Done that, I then start video and at 42:03 you say it's Steiermark in Austria. All that trouble for nothing 😂

Another great review, Thomas. I have a CTT on order. Saw the Coupe, just didn't do it for me. Great car, just not up to the SUV in my opinion. I don't completely embrace the positioning of this vehicle, but it is here and it is a high quality product.

Good to see consistency in your work. A question: Have you considered doing away with the handheld mic? There have been many instances in your videos where it was apparent that your interaction with the vehicle would be better with both hands. Great review Thomas (and Jonas ?). I can honestly say that I don’t think I’ve ever seen you Thomas, smile quite so much when testing a cars acceleration. You looked like the 'Cheshire Cat' it brought a smile to my face too. Until you mentioned the price €150,000. No thanks not even for the grin factor.

Interesting! On Porsche USA website, they list Cayenne Coupe GTS and Turbo as having slightly lower curb weight than their regular alternatives GTs and Turbo...by about 18-30 lbs. That's without the lightweight package it seems.

This is how the Cayenne should have looked from the beginning! I understand it's not practical from an SUV stand point, but this looks more like a big Macan and personally, I think the Macan is 10 times better looking than the 'standard' Cayenne.

There is nothing on this "coupé" that is better than on the normal Cayenne. Come again when you make something that rivals the Mega Track. THAT was the only legit SUV coupé. This is a SUV hatchback.

Any difference in ground clearance? Doesn’t ground clearance help differentiate SUV utility?

As I said it comes with the air suspension anyway which varies the ground clearance

Indeed you did. My apologies. The question needs refinement. I owned an Audi with air suspension with 4 modes, 90% of the time the car is positioned in Normal mode then adjusts for high-speed for off-road characteristics. So my question would be what is the ground clearance in Normal mode? This data is not found on Porsche’s website. As always, I enjoy your reviews!

I think that NASCAR fanatics like Coupe, I prefer the more space of the normal version. Would be curious to see how the coupe sells compared to normal SUV or Sedans. Thinking that greater percentage of Couple likers are younger generation who probably can't afford an expensive vehicles, so I'd be surprised if Coupe sells as well as the normal vehicles.

Cayenne SUV for me never looked appropriate for Porsche. It always reminded me a bit of VW Touareg which is exactly what you don’t want to happen when buying Porsche. With the coupe they finally nailed it although I’d love to see a bit if reshaped front mask.

Approximately. Very exact horsepower figures also differ from market to market, and from car to car. Porsche for example also usually underestimates the effective horsepower figure of the vehicle.
