Thank you. Yes, true! So many things open up when you think of it as just "fabric" versus a shower curtain per say. I think fabrics might be one of the most under-appreciated deals you can find at a thrift store!
Every single dupe was so good, and I thought some were actually nicer than PB. I bought a very high end linen duvet cover, that had a small hole near the top, at an estate sale for $6. I have already used it to cover books, line a large basket, cover picture matting , made a bolster pillow, etc. I could afford to pay $349 for the books at PB, but I’m not senile YEY😂😂😂they are cray cray 🤪🤪. I never toss or donate any natural fabric items unless they are beyond useable….I’m so glad you made the towels……love them😍.
Right! I think you touched on a point that a lot of people don't understand about thrift shopping or shopping second hand in general. It's not that I do it because I have to. It's just more fun, you feel more responsible with your money, don't experience buyer's remorse because you barely spent any money, and you end up with more unique items! Plus there is the thrill of treasure hunting! I like that you could have sewed up the hole and used the duvet cover as is, but instead you got lots of projects out of it. Thrifting is good for the creative juices!
@@TashaatHome I have been in love with thrifting for decades, and agree 💯 with everything you said. I love that you are showing people a way of doing things that nurtures creativity, is fiscally smart, is great for the environment, and frankly makes a home so interesting. Looking forward to your next video🥰.
I guessed wrong about the shower curtain... I thought it was going to go on a bed. lol Love the towel idea though too! I liked everything in this video, I think the wreath was my favorite.
As I am old enough to be your grandmother, I love to see how furnishing styles come back again over time. I love all styles. I choose how to incorporate them in my home. Repurposing wood items are my favorite and baskets add so much texture to a room. Your curtain idea was awesome!!Keep those great ideas coming. God Bless you and your family.
Thank you so much! It is interesting to me too how styles go round and round. I like to study it in both interior design and fashion. Wooden items and baskets are some of my favorites too. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Hi our beautiful Tasha..I love your jumpsuit when you are showing us the shower curtain rod and your hair! Hairstylists always look at hair. I love you do these dupes. You have made me want to change so many things , but I can not afford to buy those high end prices, and have never been the person to do that, unless it is really worth it. I actually love everything you did better. I especially think the baskets are much better. The wreath is definitely much prettier. My spring wreath was a dollar at an estate sale and would have been at least thirty at a store. I have been on the hunt for linen material, but lately have not come across any pretty material. I would like to do the linen books, and I have plenty of books. Now, I want wooden napkin rings. We only use cloth napkins and I love your collection. Your husband has good taste in art like you. The love the matte Deco Podge at the Dollar Tree.Tasha, I always have a donate bag in my trunk. I am so glad you took the shower curtain out of your donate pile. The towels look so good in that basket or on the shelf. I will look at my donate bag and in the end I usually can find a use for the things I was going to get rid of. Yesterday, I found two button up shirts , that were suppose to go in the keep pile . They were in the trunk of the car in my donate bag,😂😂I always make sweater pumpkins out of my old sweaters in the fall….so they come out of the trunk and back in the house. Our latest estate sale was a 1.7 million dollar house that was up for sale. They did not have pretty things or anything unusual. I did find some household things . My husband found several things in the barn. The best houses for estate sales are the older houses. Well, I am painting a box with matte chalk paint in a color called mineral..very much a Tasha color! Have a great day. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Rita! Always look forward to your comments 😊 Wow, you can't beat a wreath for $1. I don't remember where I got mine from but I think I got it from a yard sale a few years back...maybe a few dollars? I hope you find some linen fabric that you like really soon so you can get it started on the books, as well as some wooden napkin rings! They are the rings I didn't know I needed in my collection... But I did 😂 And I know what you mean about getting things together to donate and then pulling them back in. That happens to me if I let my pile sit too long. But I am very type A so I get it in my head to purge and I basically go ahead and purge right away. Then later I remember something I could have used. Oh well. I don't think that cycle will change anytime soon! Thank you for the kind words as always ❤️
I learned from your videos the “easy off” trick. Found a couple of vintage teak bar stools at local GW for $3 each (plus it was half off day) So for $3 plus 2 cans easy off I have two cool vintage wood bar stools. You definitely think outside the box. Keep sharing your tips and finds.
Yes! Start slow just in case the particular stems you have might be harmed by the steam, but I have used this method many times now and it has always been excellent 👍🏼 The steam also naturally disinfectants so it's good for thrifted florals 😊
I am so glad I came across your videos. You are very talented! Got multiple ideas from you already! Your videos are nice to watch and listen to, thank you! 🌸
Thank you so much! I was wracking my brain on how to put matting around 4 very large beautiful botanical prints and having checked around found it was going to cost a quite a bit. Because they are a special size made them really out of my budget so I thought well I will just put them away. But now I am on my way to the dollar store for poster boards. Thank you thank you!
Always love your ideas and style of ease !! Loved the shot of Curry snuggled under the table !!! One of my favs was the shower curtain being made into towels !!!😊❤ 🤗
Hi Tasha! Oh my goodness..the shower curtain turned into towels ❤❤❤ was a fabulous idea!!! Well done you. They look so luxurious! Thank you for sharing xxx Take care xx🇬🇧🇬🇧
Tasha, again, you motivate me! You are such an inspiration! Love all the dupes! I've looked at ordering the waffle weave fabric online and it's very expensive! I'll look at ordering a shower curtain or better yet, find one in a thrift store and make some towels! Great idea!
Thank you, I'm so glad you gained some inspiration! Yes definitely keep your eye out for waffle weave fabric; it's so trendy right now and for good reason. It's very luxurious looking 🥰
Thanks so much! 😊 I do love the PB wreath but I've never bought a new wreath before actually, except at a liquidation store I bought dried eucalyptus ones last year. I was happy with this one!
@@TashaatHomeI bought a plain grapevine wreath at the thrift store with the intention to fix it up, but I haven’t been out to find stems yet. You gave me some ideas. I’ve got a bundle of real touch roses and they don’t really fit well in any vase I have. I might break them up and add them to my wreath. I can’t bring myself to buy wreaths. They’re so expensive!
Hey Tasha 👋 I have a set of pretty linen shower curtains too, I use 2 to get the fuller & pleated look . I purchased them a couple of years ago from HomeGoods for about $16 & they still look brand new ! Great stuff as usual ❤
Hi Tasha! Another great video. I have those exact roses but put them in my stash. I can get them out now. Great idea. Baskets ..got those too. I will be on the lookout for a similar shower curtain. You are so creative. I'm so grateful for you as I dont have a creative bone in my body and you have fantastic ideas.
You are too kind! I always appreciate hearing from you. Yes yes, get out the roses, tis the season! I may add more to the wreath, we'll see.... I'm going to be collecting flowers here and there for a flower garden themed party for my little one later this year. It should be fun!
I love smart lady who can make use of everything and get best items for least prices 👍 You are genius 👏👏 ,,, I am watching your lovely videos from Jordan 🇯🇴 in the middle East ❤
All of your high end dupes and dupes are SO good, esthetically and savings. Thank you for your ideas, suggestions, and tips … I really enjoy every one of your videos!!!
Another great video, as usual girl!☺️ I liked your baskets better than the PB baskets, and in this area (Detroit, Michigan), that would be a very reasonable price! Many thanks, much affection from the city of Detroit!
Nice, glad to know that! I was wondering where they were from originally and forgot to do an image search. Sounds like $4.99 each was still great then! They are pretty baskets :)
Love all the thrifting and ideas!! You had a video on a taco shell bowl and painting it but I can't find the video. Could you help! I have a bowl and want to try doing the same thing!! Thank you!
Did you leave the frame out in the sun AFTER you washed the Easy Off away? I have seen several RU-vidrs do that when it wasn’t as light as they wanted.
