Hey guys in this video we put the all new harbor freight ghost 212cc kart racing engine to the test on our custom built go kart! Linke to harbor freight www.harborfreight.com/brands/... Business inquires info@thegaragevlog.com
I’m going to check it out right! I like how quickly you responded to my post! You guys just gained another sub!! Keep up the great content on these motors I own the Predator 224It’s still in the box because I want to get a good flywheel for it before I put it on a mini bike!
I love this so much... I grew up racing lil karts. damn near lost my right leg/life due to a kart at 9 yrs old. 😂😊I'm gonna have to build this lil monster now that I'm turning 40 next week.😂going out with a whole dumpster 🔥
I married a YZ250 engine to my kart in HS and it would smoke my 1986 GSXR750 to 95 MPH. That was a wicked fast kart…… thank goodness for slicks on the three piece wheels and disc brakes. It would frame twist a tire off the ground turning road to road. Finally spun it off the road and clipped a tree - bending the axle and damn near killing me from a crazy ejection. But I walked away.
bro bro i need support building my kart, can anyone show support i have questions to ask a lot, please, i need to install my bike 100cc 2 stroke engine to my go kart how do i do it ???? please 😢😢😢 reply
My first time as a viewer of your channel and I thank you so much because everyone is downing this engine because of the price and it’s from Harbor freight! You guys are the first video I have seen of anyone test driving it under power like literally on a vehicle of some sort and your reaction is awesome thanks again for the great video
Ain't nothing wrong with HF motors. The predator series have been great for all my mini bikes go karts throughout the years. Properly break them in and they last a good while. For an extra 150 not having to buy any aftermarket mods or do any of the work myself / waiting for parts is definitely worth the price to me.
@@karlg1535 question so I have a 212 phatmoto bike in the works and I have a lot of things being modded. So tge ghost I wont need to mod a thing internally now if I understand that right?
I bet that thing does scoot! Once I got back into minibikes and such around early 2019 my first new build was a like new doodlebug I picked up off marketplace. Threw a predator hemi and a china torq-a-verter and couldn't even hold on! Of course within a week it had an ARC rod and flywheel, bad ass secret cam grind from NR, shaved head and lots of hand porting from my automotive drag race experience. Put a sprocket adapter on and bought about 15 different red split sprockets and went to the track. Oh yeah fabbed a set of wheelie bars too. The first gen wheelie bar was a single wheel and did work but I needed a more stable launch so ended up with another set using dual wheels for wheelie bar. The bike runs 9.50s@67 in the 1/8 which is flying that close to the ground! I imagine this cart feels like a total monster when riding! We don't quite get the feel on video but that is not y'alls fault. That is something that is hard to capture on vid. This new ghost motor is just right for a certain market and definitely fits this wagon build! Next step is to do some port work on the head and throw in a much more hairy camshaft. Please do a vid on my suggestions! I subscribed and I'm waiting to see you take it to next level! If you need and wanna experience wheelie bars contact me and I can show you some tricks to use cheap materials to prototype a decent set, then you can make them out of mild steel and a welder and fancy wheels etc. Let's Gooooo!

I just bought the ghost engine and accessory kit and also a common 212 predator, I have two kits , a go cart and a mini bike to build, my son is turning 10 in November, has no experience with any of this , so I bought the stock motor for the go cart that I'm building for him to learn with, I like that it has a governor rated at like 6 hp, my dumb ass on the other hand am building a mini bike (like an old school Taco mini bike at 42 years old with a body that doesn't heal like a 10 year old lol) and am putting the Ghost motor in it, what I've researched is the Ghost makes 12 hp, should be fun on that little guy, had I read all this first I may not have bought the ghost and just bought a regular one and upgraded it for the money, anyways what's done is done, hold my beer !!
I built an almost identical fuel tank riser for my 212. The OEM unit was too close to the cylinder to install filter and shutoff valve. Also the outlet appeared to low for the Mikuni to get a decent flow.
You guy’s need to go check out a junior dragster event with these motors they are fast and built to the gills they run on alcohol and are bad ass motors with bad ass clutch set ups, they can run low 7s in 1/8 mile which is equivalent to low 11 second 1/4 mile but yes like anything else in racing not a cheap sport at all! Have fun and stay safe guys👍
You do realize it's just a 212 with a few parts on it right? You can buy STAGE 1,2,3, n 4 kits all over the net dar cheaper than this engine. Much love hope that helps !! GeT your 212 going 70+ lol for about 150$
The motor has a little bit bigger cam in it.. Thats all... As far as I know... I wonder what the compression is.. It also has a cast flywheel still... In my opinion, just buy a bigger motor for the money.. Or maybe a Tillotson or something.... Also, Honda still is a way better motor to source used and beef up... Just my thoughts guys, I don't have a lot of experience building or upgrading these small motors... Looks fun as heck either way and that's all that matters!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
