There are many hypotheses about engine break-in and I’m not an expert, but here’s my experience breaking in my Predator. I ran it for 30-45 minutes under various loads three times, changing oil between each run. Sounds excessive I’m sure, BUT, I did it until I saw no more flaking in the oil. If I run the engine and see metal in the oil, I’m changing that shit. The 212s oil capacity is 0.5 qts. Buy a bottle of any brand conventional and change it out twice (if needed) before filling it for the long haul with whichever oil you favor. It’s only a few dollars which is worth it to me to get those shavings out since small engines like these do not have particulate filters on them. Your break-in might be different and that’s ok if it is. My advice is to break your engine in as your particular engine needs it i.e., until the oil is clean.
If you Pour the oil out from the other side of the opening (The counter intuitive side where the shelf is) you don’t get drip or messes. Always surprised how few people know that
Do any of you know what brand or kart that is in the video, I'd like to know; because I have the same exact one but with a 6.5 hp Tecumseh PowerSport motor. I've been scouring the Internet for about a year-and-a-half as I couldn't find one that is the same, but this one is. Live axle and everything, but mine has a vinyl seat cover that came stock with it, no cushions.
Hey,I have no clue, but I have two of these that are just alike, both are short, but one has been converted to racing slicks, and has rails. Its the free go kart video series. When I got this kart in the video it had a 5hp,and the other one had a 4 hp Tecumseh.Go check out the free kart series
Hello man, where can i get a clutch like yours? i just bought same angine, the bore have 20 mm diameter! how many teets pinion has? Thanks btw cool project
I figured it out myself, in case anyone else was wondering... I got a 60 tooth sprocket for 41/420 chain with clutch from www.gopowersports.com/live-axle-kit-complete-40-axle/ and it works great!
I’m just learning about go karts and I wanted to build my own I have a frame on looking at on Facebook market I was wondering do I have to buy brake or do they come with the motor?
They may already be broken in, but some people sat their manual says about up to about 1/2 power for about three hours. To me that means you can still install it, and putt putt around and have a little while, just don't go crazy with it and expect it to stay together. I like putt putt. It'll do, for a while anyway :-)
It looked like you put way to much oil in that thing, it only takes a half a quart, that can damage your piston rings, also when you change the exhaust like that you have to jet the carb that can also be bad for your motor
MoPar's RCs so if i straigh pipe it do i need to do this. and how would i know witch way to turn or to even no its rite.is there a video on this topic u can refer me too.
anyone have this issue, just bought the predator 212 and its missing the idle screw spring. the black flapper that moves in and out depending on the idle screw. The store model had it but mine does not, making the engine stay at high idle? Can't find anyone else with this issue.
All I could think of was how much oil this guy is dripping on the ground. wuddin wuddin. Just think, one day this could really be a cool cart, if it only a way to propel it , like a torque converter. wuddin wuddin. wuda pup pup pup pup pup pup, wuddin wuddin wuda pup pup pup. Well that was a thrill, maybe we can start it again later. There's a name for people who are smart, and who act like an ass.
You use brake cable and just run it to a pedal. There should be a clamp near the acceleration to clamp the out cable in and somewhere on the throttle to attach it to. Then just run it to a pedal👍
