I love my Juki. I have the TL-2010Q. It runs like a charm and is fast. I have never gotten a thread nest, and it doesn’t swallow the fabric if you are sewing from a point. I like the regular sewing foot it came with. Not quite a quarter inch but good enough for me. Good luck with yours. It looks heavy duty.

I've used industrial machines for years and much prefer them to domestic machines--they're more reliable, they're so easy to fix if something does go wrong, and the stitch quality is always good. And something few people realise--they are incredibly cheap to buy! I got my current Juki used from ebay for about £180 and it's pristine. Their only downside is they only do one thing, but they do it very well. Because of this I bought myself a used domestic machine to do buttonholes: it's a Bernina, and despite all the hype around Berninas I'm not so impressed with it, compared to my Juki. I'm now looking into buying an industrial with auto needle position and thread trimmer, which would still be cheaper than a domestic.

I run bits and pieces like that thru the dishwasher before I use them. I put them in a little mesh bag so they don't blow around.

I have a Juki DDL8700. The thread for normal sewing is Tex 27-30. You can use thicker thread, but you need to change the needle to a 16 or 18. You can get thread and needles at Wawak. Also for your safety, it didn’t look like you have on the safety guide for your belt. It covers the belt. Have fun with your Juki-you are going to love it!

Most of the time I use a standard foot (1/4") on my industrial Juki. I have lots of choices (Industrial feet are super inexpensive) but stick to that 1/4" foot for most things. I love that very narrow zipper foot, and occasionally use compensating feet or edgestitch feet in various widths. I replaced my stitch plate with one that has seam allowance lines on it.

I use those feet. I love the rolling hem feet in different sizes. They are great!

You should LOVE this machine. It is what you said - easy, quiet, and feels so professional. Inexpensive. I have had mine for several years now - watching from Poland. I tend to use 40 wt. thread with it - poly. I've not had much time to sew and focus - as the whole Ukraine situation has overwhelmed me. We were sent over 2000 quilts from the states - FL - and I'm dealing with those.

I'm still debating about getting a Juki. Thanks for the informative video! I wish you well and pray that all will be well with you and your mom. Please take care.

Just something to consider. To use the smaller needles with smaller threads, you may need to retime the hook and/or the needle bar to make sure the hook can catch the top thread correctly while sewing. Many home sewists ask their dealer to specifically time their machine to work with their most common sewing usage. Anything outside of that range may require retiming.

I wonder if all the feet that go to my Juki TL machine will also fit the DDL? They are high shank, too, and I love the "compensating foot" that came with the TL.

Are you able to do heavyweight fabrics on this machine? We are in fort myers area and I just lost all 6 of my machines to Ian. One of them was a brand new juki 1541 that I had not even used. I am looking at all of them to figure out how to replace. Melinda
