I work on audiobooks and we use the markers all the time to mark issues and new files so that may be behind the request for the increase. If it’s a long program with a lot of issues we’ll need a ton of markers. I can see that helping my workflow. Just thought maybe you’d find that helpful as to a possible reasoning of why.
Bedroom producers don’t like pro tools. I get it. I’m a live audio engineer for the past 25 years. Other DAWs are great but Pro-Tools makes the most sense layout and workflow wise because it’s based off of studio standards.

So AVID makes you pay extra every month to use features other DAWS like LOGIC has had since version 8 in the early 2000's. Hilarious!. The only thing that's new from a a few years ago is ARA to be able to use Melodyne. AVID is profiting off of old features and where other DAW manufacturers do not make you pay unless it's a MAJOR UPDATE. I don't think this is what the term Industry Standard should be all about.
Pro Tools SE was my first Daw when I got my first interface. Over the years I became a Reason user but this Intro version has peaked my interest again.
Honestly man all of these features available in other DAWs from years ago. I love your videos but keep it 100% Pro Tools be slacking hard lately... Also the sickest engineers can use any DAW you throw at them at lightning speed. The marketing of "industry standard" is all Pro Tools has left going for it if we're keeping it a BUCK.

They are about 2 years too late for me, Studio One has been having a lot of these features. I used Pro Tools in College, but it was a headache. I do still use it and like some of the new features, but SO is my go-too.

Pro Tools Is the best, had to use logic for a month.. just got a year subscritpion back to my Ferrari Daw Pro tools... it just works so Well for me as a songwritter/producer. So elegant and so powerful, the editing, the power of the key commands and the list goes on and on. Thank you for the beautiful video, love your channel for years now.

THe ONLY reason Pro Tools is still used so heavily in the U.S. is because so many commercial studios bought tens of thousands of dollars of HDX cards and other avid ( digidesign ) equipment and they know the system .. Pro Tools was the DAW to replace tape machines 30 odd years ago .. LOL ,, Its a legacy DAW .. Its a traditional grandpa DAW . Ive been doing audio recording and mixing for 22 years . I own pro tools . I know the history . I know the pros and cons of alot of DAWs ( features and stability / workability ) And your wrong . Drakes latest album was mixed and mastered in Studio One in las vegas ... Other daws get some work too .. Yes its rare but it does happen here in america .. Pro tools was the best DAW around 20 years ago and it was costly .. They havent done nearly as much development in the last 20 years as some newer DAWS and now they are trying to play catch up because others who try other daws and aren't a tool find more pro's than cons when leaving .. I can work in a handfull of daws from start to finish .. CAN you ? LOL
Wassup wayne hope u doin good … recently upgraded to 2022.9 been using pro tools for 5yrs … when i drag n drop type beats i downloaded they all have cracks in them now just wanted to know if your dealing with something similar maybe uk a fix for now ive been converting the mp3s to wav online n i drag n drop in session works fine then weird just another extra step appreciate you get back when you can
I been working in pro tools since June July....and these updates shows that protools tryin to become logic.......logic pro x is the better daw....atleast logic meters are accurate.....that should've been pro tools update their meters.....

yeah Protools just trying to keep up at this point! Studio and Cubase Been had all these features for a long time. I understand Avid is trying to keep their clients from going to studio1 as tons are. And studio1 is just way more stable

Aye no lie!!! once I updated the 2022.9 the truth!!! set the custom shortcuts!! just hit the letters mane!! probably the best thing I like about the update! that UI change is a nah lol.....imagine walking in a session and the background sherbet orange! lol intro is dope too....for the beginners or a situation happens that was very dope move from avid.
Ah if you do work in Post Production, sometimes you get a session with a million markers for editing reasons from the video editors side. So ye in Music don't need that many markers but for video, welcome to your excel spreadsheet ahahahahahah

Pro tools was not the first daw, second. all of the features you just stated have been in every other daw since day one. but i am glad to see Avid stepping they game up. I own and used pro tools for decades i made the switch to Nuendo/Cubase and im never going back to pro tools.
Even Fl Studio got its own built in vocal pitch correct just like melodyne. Newtone. Let's not even talk about qwerty keyboard. Customisable windows? Sheesh Fl Studio was living the future of the so called greatest Daw. FL Studio Asio driver allows me stream with audio in and out of my Daw no io stress. Braaaaaah that shit is literally free. Image line is just Legendary. No hate to pro tools, I love the Daw and still prefer it for tracking.but these updates are not hitting me hard as expected.

Just make sure it's worth it. Its got it specialties not meaning other daws don't, so chill out fam. So what if the verse you bought the engineer used some other Daw and not pro tools? cause I know some big-time engineers that do not use pro tools or at least not anymore.
Log into your Avid.com account. If you subscribe, you should just be able to download the latest version. If you purchased a license check for other upgrade options.
Good day Wavy great features but Pro Tools is always later when it comes to see features coz those features you showing on the video some DAWs have been doing this for years ,Eg ARA Melodyne, On-Screen Keyboard ect and Avid don't respond to peoples request , they will only respond as soon as they see competition from other DAW. Avid only focuses on things that people never requested. Featured that were requested long ago that still not in Pro Tools 0. Vocal Alignment feature 1. Phase Reverse Button on the Mixer 2. Quick Slice Midi on Piano Rolls 3. Velocity Rendomiser on Piano Roll 4. Arpeggiator , Flam and Strum Directly on Piano Roll 5. Scale Editor Snap , where u select your Key Eg C Major, and that will make every note placed on the Piano to follow the key and be on the scale 6. Quick Chords Editor thst helps you to place chords with single Click eg Cmaj7, Cmaj9 with just one click 7. Still no Sample Editor 8. Built in Drum Replacement 9. Still no Portamento on Piano roll or a Sampler With Portamento feature 0. A simple way of inserting a Track or Instrument , just right click and choose whatever you what to insert...... consider that 1. Drag and Drop Instrument from Synth Rack 🥲🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 2. Pro way of setup Metronome rather than creating a Click Track 3. and Way of Clip gain beside the one represented by a Line. we need a clip gain where i will highlight the section i want to clip gain . Just highlight the section , right click and choose clip gain and put the amount of dBs i want. the list is endless
Pro tools always had simple clip gain like you’re asking. You can select entire clips or highlights a section of any or multiple clips at once and hit Ctrl Shift Up or Down arrow to adjust clip gain on whatever is selected or highlighted. You can also just do Ctrl Shift and scroll the mouse wheel. A lot of other features you requested has always been in Pro Tools as well. Just need to find and read an updated manual and will be suprised all the stuff that’s there that you won’t find on a RU-vid tutorial. Happy Mixing!
Not near computer but Cmd Shift N opens up the window to add new tracks. Also, if you double click any empty space in the edit or mix window, it will create a new track that’s the same width and type of the last track that you created in the session. If you double click while holding Cmd it will create an audio track. Double click while holding Ctrl will create new auxiliary tracks. Double click holding Shift will create new master track. Double click and Option will create new instrument track. I myself use probably every other DAW out there and even tho some of them have new cool features before Avid, nothing compares to the speed of Pro Tools when it comes to editing and mixing 😊
Been with Pro Tools Since Digidesign Pro Tools 5.. bra I know what I'm talk about.. u don't the line Clip Gain... check other DAW you will see wat I'm Talking about Check Cubase Clip Gain that's exactly what I'm talking about

These new features are cool I guess..Pro tools' midi editing has been Absolutely TRASH for a long time now... only when they fix that can you justify calling it the best DAW
