We finally have a source for new production Commission Rifle bolt heads which to this point have been super pricey on the secondary market. This is my initial review of one of these new bolt heads.
Not only that they are producing g88 bolt head, but all sorts of old firearms components !! This website seems to be a treasure for good quality replacement parts at a correct price. Thank you !
I exchanged some emails with Nathaniel with Meyers Arms after I posted this video and I have some more related info for you guys that I'll post in a follow up later this week.
I think the Numrich extractors are actually Dutch 1895 ones that were mis labelled. I had that same length problem, if you put it on the non dished dutch flatfaced bolthead, youll see its the perfect length for that particular bolt head.
Thanks for the information , never know when you might need something and I saw anther post that said they had other parts also . I will have to look them up just to know what is available
Hello, I am in Mexico and I have a copy of Kar 88, I would like to get a couple of chargers and a nail to remove the caps from the bolt, is there a way to get them?
this makes me want a gew 88, i passed on a steyer made one that was sent to turkey because despite being S marked i was still nervous about shooting it
If it has a czech replacement barrel marked 7.91 underneath, its unquestionably safe. The old . 318 bore original barrels are all mostly long gone and replaced by the turks.
@@joeydussell9407 its easy to check if the barrel is czech and safe, remove the action from the stock, remove the barrel jacket, it screws on with a twist, under the barrel under the chamber area, you will clearly see a stamped " 7.91". Thats what you want to see, its good for the modern 8mm 7.92mm ww2 style ammo. The original german . 318 bore barrels never had that stamping. Also, the old german barrels for roundnose . 318 dia bullets are tapered down from the chamber to the barrel, the czech are relatively squared off. Hope this helps!
@@joeydussell9407 steyr is good quality, the worst production from any of the 5 imperial arsenals was Amberg. I have a hanyang, an amberg 1896 88/05, and a danzig 1897 88/35. Haenel only made carabiners, interestingly. The history of these rifles is fascinating.
My grandfather inherited me a carbine of the same model, the machinery is in good condition, but it lacks maintenance. The only problem is that the cylinder head is broken.
I bought one of these aftermarket bolt heads paid a lot of money for my hanng yang rifle or whatever the hell it's called because the other one was just so loose and wobbled everywhere. It seems like it needs to be fitted on it just won't fit
