Today's housing market is extremely too greedy, not reasonable, doesn't match dozens of salaries. When you have to wait that long it's just not worth it. Locations
I don’t like this program , it’s tricky . Your paying $130,000 for a house ? And you don’t really control it ? Why not just go to a bank . If you have a job , go to a bank . These programs work with banks so they don’t help you with anything accept downpayment assistance . Look for down payment assistance that allows you to sell your home for whatever price you want , after maybe 5-6 years . During that time , you will pay your mortgage but it helps keep families in homes as opposed to jumping around . You stay for 5 years and then you can sell . If you tell people , a home cannot be sold over a certain amount , that’s too much control . You will never run out of homes if you renovate the worst home’s . Go find homes to renovate instead of trying to keep each home on a leash . These people want to be REAL home owners with home owner options . If you give someone $24,000 in down payment assistance grant , we understand , that comes with some responsibility. But holding the value ? The owner is paying taxes right ? So they should share in the market value . The true market value
Many people just simply cant afford a house at "true market value" so making sure these houses stay affordable is good . If someone is getting a house for $130k because of this special program that would normally be sold for $230k why should that person be able to pocket that extra money and also deny someone else the same chance they had to buy an affordable home ?
