New renderings reveal future of Tampa Bay Rays' ballpark

I am a jax resident. After having our stadium approved, I can't lie these renderings look badass. Wishing the best of luck for this stadium

No public money should be used. These billionaires should pay for it. Not taxpayers.

Those seats will be 75% empty. Look at camping World stadium. The rolling Stones coming and lots of tickets still for sale? I guess the homeless will get free tickets!

This like having a business in a "no traffic" area and then moving across the street and expecting a better result.

They're dreaming... 30,000 people during a regular season weeknight? No way... Playoffs? Probably. But Weeknights? No. The problem is still location, weekday traffic congestion, and mass transit, which does not exist. This does not mean I do not like baseball, at times. However, I am not willing to drive a 60 mile round trip, even for a good season ticket. However, if TV and concession revenue is enough to pay for it, then why not? I'd still like to watch them at home on my own BIG screen, drinking $2 dollar beers and eating $1 hotdogs. JUST SAYING...

I thought the idea was to move the new stadium closer to Tampa to get more attendance? WTF are they thinking?

Never trust a consultant. Ever. Over a Billion dollars, and this is all that they could come up with in the Design Phase? It's an absolute monstrosity of a design. It is truly hideous, and looks like a glorified arena with a pointy roof - certainly not too much better that what is already known as the Rays current home. Just pay their design fee, and send these consultants packing and find a better, more reputable firm that knows how to construct an actual ballpark, and not an arena. If you are going to take the Taxpayers money, then just build low-to-mod housing Downtown and forget the Rays altogether. It will be better than listening to the constant criticism of how the Council actually authorized aver a Billion Dollars for an Arena. This is in no way, shape or form a Stadium design. Stop this thievery of public funds, only because the Design is terrible and the City is better deserving of a better consulting firm. And if you can't do that, stick to housing and get out of the baseball business.

The Rays should relocate to Orlando

They may have a better turn out if they played in downtown Tampa.
