This is one of the best family dark rides out there. Universal did an excellent job on this Secret Life of Pets ride. There are so many animatronics on the ride and the queue itself.

Universal>Disney right now, especially if you’re older. They have the perfect balance of thrill, family, and sets where you can just wander (diagon and to some extend hollywood). It’s also nice how everything except for coasters can be ridden by pretty much anyone. They are gonna topple disney when Epic Universe opens.

@@blah7983 not everything in a theme park is about rides. I personally prefer shows, parades, fireworks etc which I think Disney excels. But I agree that thrill rides goes to Universal

@@blah7983 I like Universal. But I disagree. Disney has made some of the most epic and iconic legendary rides that we love to go back and ride over and over again. Like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Indians Jones... these are all thrill rides so they don’t just have kid rides at Disney. And they are better at blocking out the outside world when you are inside their theme parks.

With the Velocicoaster, the Jurassic World ride update, and this, Universal has been killing it lately and they hit it out of the park with this. It's a cute addition to the Hollywood park. Love all the animatronics. My favorite part is the dachshund trying to stop its tail from burning (because I have my own dachshund)

It's stupid how good this ride looks. I haven't seen the film, but this attraction really delivers. Disney and/or Universal haven't built a dark ride like this in decades. It reminds me quite a bit of Men in Black without the shooting aspect.

Actually most if not all rides they don't allow at all. Maybe cause it's new that's why and this was supposed to open last year so they want hype for this opening.

Apparently other rides think the place is "magical" when it's literally called "studios"- The Employees on the Simpsons are literally patriotic about it. (I'm still not sure today whether it has something to do with FOX, or they're Karen.)

Many rides, like coasters, are absolutely unsafe to film on and people shouldn't be trying anyway. Who goes on rides to stare at a screen anyway? It's obnoxious. Something slow and boring like this is safe to film on because you barely move and are not in a train with other passengers your phone can hit when you drop it. People who film rides choose not to fully experience them and those are people I could never associate with. They care more about "Content" than actually experiencing life for themselves. It's silly.

Although the IP isn’t the greatest (essentially Universal’s answer to Toy Story) this ride looks really great! Kudos to the park for making it more physical-set focused than other rides. Hopefully USF gets this too

This looks REALLY good. I'm amazed at how well the art style was translated into animatronic! Amazing. And YES THANK G O D the use of ACTUAL sets and physical props. Call me old school, but props will ALWAYS look better than screens, and they do a good job at incorporating both. Screens are an enhancement, like how they should be used, not the main event.

I second the audio, it was not good because the cars are too close together so they have to loop every few seconds. Other than that, the theming is wonderful, kids will love it, even with the crappy IP.

i was expecting a screen ride, but this absolutely blew me away! it wasn't a normal screen ride, and it had a ton of animatronics that move incredibly good, and created a great experience! and while I'd still say the simpsons ride is my favorite, this was still greatm

With those restraints to keep you in the ride vehicle, I kept waiting an upside down loop, a fast acceleration or something. 😀 The ride looks like fun and Universal Studios always does a great job with their ride environments.

Not just you... I would have liked a more immersive ceiling structure with light being hidden in the set structure. Especially because there are so many moments that characters are hanging above you. Those black studio looks kinda break the illusion.

On one hand, it's a step in a great direction. Looks cute, practical effects and animatronics. Universal needs more rides like this. But on the other hand, I don't understand why a slow moving kids and family targeted onimover ride called for such restrictive ride vehicles. Here's a 'good luck' to families with mom, dad, and more than two kids who are too short to ride alone or with a sibling.

The animatronics at the Mickey ride might be weird with the projected faces but the animatronics here ain't the most advanced either. There are many other dark rides full of animatronics that you could compare to.

I'm worried about the Fur. It looks great now, but over time it could look dirty and raggedy. But great progress imo. I prefer this over screens.

Cool! My kids would love this :) I love the use pf the physical sets and characters. Screens are used appropriately and compliment the rest, without overtaking the ride!
