@@nihillon2064 They're honestly very similiar, some parts of the grill on the RS3 are painted gloss black as opposed to a normal A3 with S-line, and it has a slightly different lower part/lip but that's it. I usually look for the badge when I see something "special" in oncoming traffic
Idk.. audi rs3 is nearly the same for many years. M2, M3, M4, M5 are really special. But you can like it or not. They are making new designs, not only updated versions.
@@pyrofisch_hh BMW have lost their heritage. They build cars for the Chinese, that's why they look so ugly. Halo lights are pretty much gone too. Audi is consistent.
@@karolmaciejewski340 Controversial?? It's ridiculous. I'm an Audi guy and the BMW M2/2 series is my favorite BMW... But this new one is rubbish looking and FAT!!
Current 8y owner, I think the only thing I that surprised me is the new design of rear bumper & diffuser. To be honest, it looks much better than the 8y
Sedan might look better but the Sportback is so much more usable as a daily driver. Coming from a 2018 Golf R in the US if the RS3 Sportback was available here that would be my next car. The Sedan is so small it might as well be a roadster. Total nonstarter for me as I actually use my car for more than joyriding. The other day I went to buy mulch from Home Depot and I was able to chuck over 20 bags in my Golf R with room to spare. I don’t understand why Audi thinks Americans don’t like hatchbacks. They’re the best of all worlds with the driving dynamics of a car and the practicality of an SUV. Plus the short wheelbase makes them such a fun ride.
What a great overview man. Thanks so much. I just put a deposit on one of these and in this day and age of distance buying sight unseen etc etc this kind of overview is so helpful.
As an owner of the pre-facelift RS3 8Y im happy that they didnt changing to much. Especially from the power side. So i can keep my RS3. In comparision with the M2 they should give the new RS3 more power.
@@ROMANERUIZA you can't ignore tyres when drawing such a conclusion. The RS3 was on Trofeo R tires compared to the Cup 2 on the M2, the former is a better tire. So it makes sense that the RS3 would be faster. And as a general rule I'd take all of these Nurburgring records with a grain of salt. It looks to me like it's become a marketing tool, and companies are playing fast and loose with the regulations, or the regulations are inconsistent to begin with. There have been some suspicious laptimes in the past years, including the pre-facelift 8Y actually, along with the Model S Plaid Track Pack and the newest Panamera. To get a better picture you should compare multiple tracks, zeperfs or fastestlaps help with that. Nurburgring is just one track - and a pretty peculiar one, since certain setups are very favored.
@@xIcarus227 the laptimes are marketing. 99% of the owner drives on normal streets and never drives like a professional racer. M3, RS3, M3, RS4 all are nice cars and its just a matter of what you like. I hate the BMW - Audi Shittalk. Both nice.
If you would only know that the current RS3 8Y does the loud bangs too. so no new feature here just not advertised in the old one. For all 8y drivers start your engine and also press the gas at the same time until 3000 rpm then let it go and it will shoot bangs ;)
get into the car, push the power button for some secounds and then put your foot on the brake, it'll do an emotional start reving up to almost 3k rpm by itself
In the UK, you just press start stop button, use RS button to change to Performance, then foot on brake and start the car, it does exactly the same. I do it on my 8y for every start as sounds so good.
@cliang001 if you own one (rs3 8y) then we all know this. It's nothing new. What has changed is some tweeks, and the valves between certain revs when driving.
Not that I can afford these cars and actually experience these problems but does anyone look at those GORGEOUS rims but then think to themselves about what a pain in ass they would be to clean with all those spokes lol
You curb one of those and you will have a big bill. If you can still spec ceramic brakes, which I have on my RS3 8Y, then at least cleaning the fronts is easy. LOL.
Haha, it's pretty much the same! Obvious you don't own one. The interior is the same cheap plastic, simple as that. Yes they've made some slight changes, but overall not much different. I hate the interior of my 8y, this new one isn't any better (apart from the new seats). I bought mine for the engine and exterior looks, inside is a cheap A3, simple as that, but personally I don't care any more.
@DudeThedudesky Well I don't know what cars you own, but most comments all over including professional videos mention the cheap interiors! I've had the RSQ3, 3 x RS5s, RS3, and the RS3 is the worst by far for cheap plastic rubbish. My previous Merc and BMW were 10 times better, fact. I love my RS3 which is why I still own it, but interior is bottom line, cheap....
i got a 2022 rs3 vorsprung saloon here in the uk , the only thing i am not a fan of is the filled in front badge the rest looks very nice , the only think is audi uk generally does not give us in uk give the option the rest of the world gets , on the pre face lift we got standard, carbon and vorsprung models with very little option to personalised the car but i hope this my change .
Same here mate. Got a 73 reg vorsprung, we get ripped off big time! I was hoping to upgrade to this new model but it just not worth it. Horrible steering wheel (like the current one in the vorsprung), haptic buttons are a big no no, and we won't see the colour interior options, tpms screen, side assist in wing mirrors, usual stuff with Audi UK missing features. Nice car, but not worth paying to upgrade. I'll stick with my 8y despite me liking some things on this new one.
Hard top doors No front Rs badge Seats from the previous Rs3 Performance so they do have reduced quality while raising price significantelly.@@DudeThedudesky
Do we finally get a heated wheel in the audi 3 series? Its an 80k car in Canada when a 25k toyota has a heated wheel, and basically every base model car sub 30k canadian you can think of, but this is almost triple the price and no? Even a shitty mustang has a heated wheel. So does the equivalent mercedes and bmw. I just don't get audi's hate for it in the 3 series. The VW has it and they make both. Like what the hell man. When its -40c and I am done clearing the snow off my car and my fingers are freezing it is a pretty damn must-have feature and I'd expected it from Audi on basically everything in our market. We did not get the 8Y RS3. Production ended for our market with the 8V in 2020(maybe 21) but we are getting this refresh for 2025 model year finally. About damn time.
I mean quattro Is cool but it's haldex. Haldex is better for the rs3 because it makes the engine more behind the axle than true quattro pushing it further down the axle
The front grill takes up the entire front end (again). The exhaust area of the rear end looks out of place and almost bulbus. The interior has way too much going on. Piano black center area with no physical shifter again. A squircle steering wheel? Touch capisitive buttons? But why?.... lights are cool, though.
Still that piano black plastic along with that hard plastics center console and doors panels, with no interior window joints, for a 66000 euros base model So they really are taking customers for granted.
@@DudeThedudesky how spoilt? I worked my whole life to ensure that my kids won't face the same difficulties I faced in my life, not making them lifes easy but helping them
@sir_kala a almost 70000 euro car for my son. That's literally the definition of spoilt. Just because you worked hard doesn't mean you spoil your children. It makes them spoiled and not wanting to do anything for a good future.

Feels like no matter what manufacturers nowadays try to do with the sound, the solution to getting an actually good sound is removing the OPF. RIP inspections though.
A few years ago, my hair dryer exploded. Sounded the same like this. But louder before the explosion than the rs3. A shame how the 5 Cyl. Sounds now. Less bangs, more 5 Cyl. Sound would have been better.
That's not Audis fault, EU regs. Listen to a new 911 turbo s, hardly tuneful. Better some sound than none, be grateful for that as the world of performance cars gets ever more silent.
@@DudeThedudesky I own an RS3 8Y and it does sound a lot better in the flesh, especially when you get past 4,000 rpm. If people think a vacuum cleaner sounds like that, they'd be best to get their hearing tested.
Overall, i prefer the pre facelift of the 8Y. I think the new one looks more modern but less aggressive. The positioning of the front logo and the new steering wheel is a big L
Only Audi model that got more than two facelifts is Q7 and reason was great sales results beyond model was released in 2015. Why would anyone drastically change something that works?
literally everyone was complaining when golf got touch "buttons" on the steering wheel climate and what not. who the f thought this time it would now be a good addition to this car and others even... far away from reality. also steering and the front grill r ugly af imo. also front grill looks like a fkn pain to clean the gaps. love the video and quality, thanks automann.
You think, good luck with that theory. It's the other way round, BMW seem to have listened to their customers and all Audi want to do is to reduce quality and charge more.
The startup-bang you hear in the first second of the video, is that present on every hot startup like in the RS3 8V facelift? Because that was super annoying. I mean, it's cool in some situations but it made you look like a complete idiot in other situations without the possibility of turning it off.
I have an 8V and i love that it pops on every startup😂 To do it on the new one you have to start it in Dynamic, then hit the gas pedal right as it starts. If you don't to that, then it sounds just like the pfl 8Y.
8v, you can walk past one and not even notice it. 8Y in another league. I own one, gets loads of compliments, none ever (ever) made a positive comment when seeing my RS3 8v. You're talking rubbish pal.
@@DudeThedudesky They're very similar to the M sport wheels I had on my M2. The Audis don't look too bad in the grey colour, although I prefer the all black design I have on my RS3 8Y.
Those hard plastics still look super cheap! What a shame! Why, Audi, why?! This is NOT an entry level car and, as such, it should contain premium quality materials! Pfff 😩
It has a good quality interior. Your not getting bentley interiors for this price. It doesn't squeak and feels very very solid. Be grateful they didn't completely ruin the interior
@@DudeThedudesky Bentley interiors, you say? No, man, hold it right there; my criticism comes as someone who's been a previous Audi owner (A1, A3, TTRS). I mean, even the wife's 2017 A1 has better quality interiors than this and came at a fraction of what this costs.
And just put a deposit down on one today. They dont know when allocations will be set, but wanted to get my foot in the door. Anyone want a mint condition 2022 M240 with carbon bits and pf let me know, Lol.
That 2D Logo on the steering wheel is sooo ugly..an these touch sensitive buttons combined with piano black on the inside....whyyyyyyy?! Literally everything else is just perfect
