If the inventor reads this, I'd consider 3D printing an adapter to fit the threaded end of a broom handle. What is offered now seems like a waste of your time and plastic for just an install tool. Just my opinion.

Agreed. First thing I thought of was why not use a broom handle
@Country-Marshal
@Country-Marshal 3 месяца назад
Will a broom handle reach that high? I'm just guessing, but the roof looks to be 12 to 13 feet high. I'm pretty tall so I think I could make it. Lol
@Itsa_Mea
@Itsa_Mea 3 месяца назад
@@Country-Marshal the highest legal limit (to the top of an A/C unit) is 13'6" which most 5th wheel trailers are 13'5" or less. A conventional tag-along travel trailer is even less. An average height man will have no problem. I just checked!

A broom handle can be used, but without threads. There are options to purchase without the pole. If you stand directly under the gutter to install the diverter it is easy to install. In the video the diverter was installed at an angle which will cause the pole to bend and bind the adapter to the pole.

We found the best way to avoid the a/c condensation problem is to just stay in places with 6% relative humidity! 😂
@robv4053
@robv4053 3 месяца назад
So the diverter. I have used the vinyl tube itself expanded/molded to the gutter extension with a heat gun to catch the A/C condensate and put it past the slab of my "RV-port" (roof over slab protection). Problem was the tube always ended up clogging with algae. I now just use an ordinary gutter downspout with elbow and extension out past the slab. I notched the downspout to "capture" the RV gutter extension and made a "shoe" of sorts out of pressure treated wood that supports it at the bottom and keeps it in-place and allows me to move it when time to pull the coach out. No more stained slab to pressure wash, and was under $20 for 2 sticks of downspout and an elbow (I had the wood laying around). Funniest solution I've seen is a buddy bought a cheap HF oil catch - the kind you use to do an oil change with the car on a lift - put pool filter sand in the can part, extended the neck for the funnel with PVC pipe to reach the gutter, and has a drain hose out of the can to his shop floor drain! Things RVers do...

My Dad had almost an identical truck with the steel wheels with the small hubcaps and it looked pretty good with them. Had the 460 in it and could barely pass a gas station back in the day when pulling his camper.

Those are Wheel covers because hubcaps only cover the hub such as dog dish style hubcaps.

I have thought of something similar to this many times. Adding something like the "First-Flush" system and adding the water to an outside holding tank for sink and shower use(not the on board fresh water tank)

I always just throw down one of those garden center concrete rain diverters and it controls the flow pretty well, and prevents mud splashing all over. This is a cool idea though.
@anthonyrini4098

You should run it to your freshwater tank, with a filter on it

I have lived in my F/W for many years with it parked inside my shop. Of course I have to catch the water from the AC's! I used a 16oz water bottle, cut the bottom out, fabricated a hanger with mechanics wire, a regular garden hose will screw right on the water bottle! However, I find that the hose quickly clogs up, even with it being in the shop! I went back to 5 gallon buckets and empty them in garden. If you clip a clothespin on the drain and that directs the water out a bit so in does not get the trailer wet! In the rain you don't have to worry about the algae build up on the concrete!

I love the idea and the product, but i hope the inventor develops a sleeker design that is more streamlined that tucks in closer to the RV so you don't have to remove it prior to moving.

Talk about a " Ive got to much time and money" issue. tilt the camper the other direction and let it run off in the grass maybe?
@darinkoestring3486
@darinkoestring3486 3 месяца назад
Tilting the camper can work for some people and not for others. It depends on the RV roof, where the A/C is dipping and how level the site is.

Hubcaps look good, looks like they belong there. Gutter drain is a good idea. A day or so in the sun will have the hose nice and pliable. I would think an adapter that would screw on a broom handle might be an easier process.

I love that truck but I'll love it more with a sexy new paint job. I'd like to see some old school aluminum slots instead of the hub caps. As far as the drip diverter goes I have no need for it but I can see it being useful for many situations. Like someone already said I think an adapter for a broom handle would make more sense. That pole is too flexible and a waste of plastic. The cost would ould come down as well which would make it more attractive.

It's an idea but you gave a no/low cost solution to just put a bucket where the water naturally drips down. It's also not a problem when camping. I think it's a solution looking for a problem.

Question? Do you think if the pole was a bit longer where you could just leave it attached to the gizmo that it would be better and more secure?

Run some hot water through the tubing and it should remove the coil in the tubing.
@robertt8273
@robertt8273 3 месяца назад
How about the pole that you place it with be the downspout? Put a angle in the pole to hug up against the RV and then hook the tubing up at the bottim. Maybe some self adhesive clips on rhe way down and even make it more permanent. The way it hangs in your video, in my opinion looks trashy. At least it can be installed with one hand tied behind you back. LOL. Get a tripod!

Texas…..gets so hot, it can damage components inside the trailer. It also helps control the humidity which in turn prevents mold & mildew. Lot of RV owners in the southern states keep their RV’s air conditioned even when not in use.

Not for me. Too much weight and flimsy, not very attractive having a big ol hose hanging off a plastic spout thats likely going to break from the weight after being in the sun for awhile. Cheaper alternative.... empty water bottle with the bottom cut off and push it on just like you did that black fitting. Water shoots out several feet away from the rv. Can direct it into a bucket uf you want. And no weight to break your spouts. The link i left was for hubcaps if you were interested.
