Glad to see they’re sticking to the level design of the original. While an open world could have been interesting, I’m just kind of open world-ed out at this point. Playing the RE4 remake reaffirmed how much I missed linear level design. MGS3 struck the right balance of having space to explore, without also having miles of pointless, flat grassland to pad out play time.
The only thing that worries me that if they decide to go politically correct with Eva for "Modern audiences"...or completely re-write characters in general.
@Miyakolover Dude, just look at the face of big boss, he's not there for being politically correct 😂 He's here to kill everything that moves and breath.
@@Miyakolover that’s a possibility. I could definitely see them censoring Eva’s appearance. As far as the story goes though,I think it’s been confirmed that they are ripping the audio from the original game, so I’m not worried about the story changing. That’s not to say it couldn’t still be censored or edited, but probably not outright changed. That’s why I’m glad too that we’re getting the originals too, just in case.
@@sonsofliberty9630 oh my God "The Fury" is gonna be nuts, didn't even think about that. Can't wait to sob uncontrollably during Eva's speech at the end and Naked's promotion to 'Big Boss'.
i think im about to die in a couple of months or years due to my obesity. This inspired me to keep living. Since they started this, we can expect remakes from other mgs games
MGS3 is one of my all-time favorite games. As someone who's been playing games for 40 years and reviewing them for 20, that's not something I say lightly. I've played every game in the series and have gone through each systematically, looking for every trick and secret, and posting whatever I could find. I was lucky enough to play and review MGS3 when it first came out, and I never dreamed it would get a remake like this. Now a whole new generation will get to experience this masterpiece.
I played this game for the first time a few months ago the original and now it's getting a remake that's awesome but i can't play it 😢😢 because of having a low end pc
@Nam Gge they did mention "while evolving the gameplay with stunning visuals and a seamless user experience" in the dev message, so I don't doubt they changed stuff
I wish I could be optimistic. But it seems to be the trend these days to ruin long-standing franchises. Some of my favourites have gone to shit. Mortal Kombat is being rebooted a second time after the last one turned into a complete shitshow. The characters are going to be changed to the point of being almost unrecognisable. Dragon Ball Super took a giant shit all over the Dragon Ball franchise. Plenty of old movie franchises have recently had their worst releases, or had trash reboots. I just can't handle them trashing everything I love any more, so I'm very anxious about this. Especially since Kojima hasn't been with Konami in a long time and they had a big fall out (unless that was all a stunt as this channel suggests), but still.....
This has me more hype than the trailer, because it looks exactly like the OG. I want a remaster more than a remake, I hope they don't touch the dialogue audio.
We have word the original VAs are coming back. But whether it is archival recordings or new ones remain to be seen. I hope its the originals because I feel like the voice acting in MGS3 is perfect. Twin Snakes was proof that doing it again can miss some of the beats of the original voice acting. Unless if it is handled better that is.
@Knott's Bear-y Tales Preserved + Dark Rides honestly a solid take. Pun intended. Twin Snakes line delivery wasn't cheesy or dramatic in the right ways so that's why I always prefer the original. Plus the music was better.
@@KnottsBear-yTalesPreserved twin snakes was rerecorded to increase audio quality, i imagine by 2004 they figured out how to get good audio so no need to rerecord
From E3 2003 until the game's release, I would obsessively, perhaps religiously, re-watch every trailer. I spent more time getting hyped for Snake Eater than I did playing games I actually had. And it met or surpassed every single expectation I had. I don't know if anything can ever replicate those feelings. But it's nice to be nostalgic.
I remember back then I had to ride my bike to our local library to use a computer with internet to watch the trailers on Konamis website. Then I would log on to the Konami message boards and create or reply to different threads. Those were fun times
The game looks stunning I recently begun playing the original snake eater, and I do hope that they keep a lot of aspects of the original in this game whilst also changing stuff that could be improved upon
I’m so excited. If they keep the cutscenes and level design faithful with just an update to the gameplay and control scheme like RE4 remake then it should be perfect!
It looks beautiful. Brings me back to the time when I was playing it back in 2012 for the first time. God its been a decade since I became a fan of this series. I am excited for this remake.
I actually just finished Snake Eater for the first time a month and a half ago! I bought the Legacy Collection for my birthday last year and have played through all of the (mainline) games but Peace Walker and The Phantom Pain now, both of which I'm working on currently. In just a year and a half, Metal Gear has become my second-favorite game series, and even though I don't have a system to play the remake on, I'm still very excited for it.
The studio gotta keep what made the first one special, but also they gotta shake things up and get crazy with a few tweaks and clever gimmicks that make sense in the mgs3 world for it to succeed. Not only it must look this beautiful, but it also must be fun to play and open space for creative gampeplay. I'll be wishing the best to them and I really hope they can pull off a slam dunk with this one.
I want to see some updated camouflage mechanics, as well as some updated weather mechanics and maybe a time system for plants to regrow after youve procured them for medical reasons (Chinese Plantain = Styptic) or for food (Golova, Mango, Yablokomaloko 😂)
It looks extremely similiar to OG and i love it. I kinda hope that they will add some scenes that didn't make to the final game like being able to actually aim and shot The Boss etc.
I hope the gameplay will be like the Phantom Pain. I loved the mechanics of MGS V Phantom Pain. It was addictive smooth and beautiful unlike any other third person games.
If there's one thing I hope, it's that there's a good amount of new. New areas, new gameplay mechanics, new opportunities to use said mechanics. MGS3 had several mechanics that went near completely unused unless you went out of your way to find an excuse to do so, such as shooting while hanging from a tree. I fon't want this to be another Twin Snakes with a plethora of new gameplay mechanics from a later game while the level design hasn't been altered enough to make use of them. At that point, aside from the visuals which still hold up today, there's negative reason for a remake.
Wait one f***ing minute!! This is real and I'm only just now hearing about it! MGS3 is one of the greatest games I've ever played and they're actually remaking it? I can't believe it but I'm super excited! It's definitely going to be a day one deluxe edition for me!
I want to see how everyone would look like Ocelot, Eva, The Boss, Volgin, Zero etc... I hope they reveal a new sub-plot as well to open ways for future MGS games
Python Selkan is like I'm ready for a massive amount of views for my videos. 😅 MGS is back baby. Fans are going to come out of the wood work to replay these works of art 🎉
This has me REALLY hyped! Looking forward to the rest of the reveals. Hope they give it the same redemption as the Resident Evil Remakes. Both of these franchises really hit home for me!¡
honestly, my excitement is .... not as what I thought it would be.... it looks like an upscaled MGS3..... for example, the wooden bridge in the 1st image, the cliff look very unrealistic with the more modern graphics.... idk, i gotta see more, maybe it'll look better in motion..... i would rather have a more open-ended level design in the vain of GoW Raganorok or even Hitman 3 (the last one) instead of running through the same tight corridors with the previous MGS3 re-releases........... at the very least, hopefully, the gameplay is upgraded...... or throw us a curveball like FF7Remake, that'd be exciting....... i hope that after this game, we eventually get into the very original Metal Gear game with Solid Snake sneaking into Outer Haven because MGS3 remake (aside the teaser trailer itself) looks like a graphics overhaul BUT that is just judging by the pictures alone...... we'll see, however, seems like the game is far away
Absolutely gorgeous... Wow... I was hoping they would... They surely should have realised the game already had a fascinating story. I hope they keep all that the same and either re use dialogue lines or get David to voice act again. And not change much of the gameplay just improve it. As long as they do that and expand rather than take away the game should be another master piece
Seems like they're playing it real safe with this, which is probably a really good thing. Even them using the OG version of the Snake Eater theme in the trailer instead of a remade version tells me they might just use the same dialogue recordings and music. Looking like a 1:1 remake except for gameplay and control improvements. But maybe it's too early to say.
They’re playing it safe since they haven’t tackled any huge projects like this in a while, which I think is the smart play. We get a completely faithful but updated remake of MGS3. Not a bad outcome at all. I can’t wait, personally.
it will be the best choice, having a actual remake of the game, but they are probably gonna make a safe 1:1 remake because they are scared to make something wrong, they are even reusing the old cast for not piss off fanboys, this is a extremely safe project, the fact they started with 3 and not with 1 which would be a more complex project says it all.
@Blue Kiddo nope, they are remakes in the true sense of the word, remakes mean, as the word said, when they "redo" the game, so a lot of new stuff and changes, reboots are the sequels when they make a new starting point, like god of war (2018)
I think Konami will play it smart here. What's smart? you might ask Smart is making the exact game again. You don't start trying to fix a master piece and wreck it in the process. You don't touch genius unless the genius is among you, which is not.
Well said. I'm starting to lean more towards the suspicion that it's just a graphics overhaul; which really isn't a bad thing. I'm thinking, without Kojima, the best thing they can do is just to upgrade the graphics.
@@MichaelCHorler I think they will also modernize the controls. Since that's definitely necessary for current audiences. That would also mean a revamping of balance and difficulty, and certain boss mechanics. But I think the best is just touch what's necessary and that's it.
IMO one of the main attractions of the original was simply the environment- how real it felt with the animals and weather. Hopefully its going to have OG snake eater stealth, camouflage and survival, but with death stranding like movement/environment interaction. And of course MGSV gameplay mechs./gfx
Im so happy they are doing an remake of one of the best games ever made. MGS 3 influenced my teen days and even the way I see things and the world. I hope that one day Konami makes a remake of MGS4
Finally, I get to see myself/Naked Snake get eaten by a croc in HD! -Or watch enemies have diarrhea in HD. -or see the Cobra explode in HD. And than to see the Boss for…IN HD!
Though not much should change with it's story, they should get rid of the loading between sections, make the areas a bit bigger, add new areas to explore, streamline changing into new camo and eating.
I wish they keep all the secret R1 scenes, a better replacement for the kerotan frogs, and of course, revamped versions of the Phases music and the Cobras' themes as well
I like new games more than remakes and im a big metal gear fan but this one will totally be worth it to play. I remember when ground zero came out and u were able to move better like crouch walk and dive jump n stuff the basic mechanics of movinv were updated and then went back to play MGS 3 cuz i had that game with all metal gears in it when i bought ground zero and man it was just so much harder to move about after having those updated mechanics. So id be happy to play a version of MGS 3 where i can move about in a more fluid way
I doubt this will have mgs5 mechanics. I’m assuming they’ll stick to as close to the original as possible with some quality of life upgrades. I doubt they’ll have all the code from mgs5, and instead adapt the code from mgs3. I doubt this is even fox engine.
@@dwezel yeah it feels weird, like the graphics doesn't match with the mechanics, for example the branches of the trees where you can climb looks unnatural
