***** They still exist as a third party publisher. In fact Sega is thriving, not as thriving as when they were the opposite to Nintendo and still actually developing games, but still. (You can basically thank Sonic for keeping the company alive all these years.) In fact Sega just bought out Atlas which gives Sega ownership of the dark soul series and the Shin Megami Tensai/persona series. They also own Yakuza and The Aliens games.
