Great review. I enjoyed how you highlighted the orange color which is the one I had delivered today. I believe if you are a watch fan you can't go wrong with this release. A close enough GMT for under $500 or closer to $350 on sale is a no brainer. Yes it's missing a few wants but for the price it's give and take. This looks like a fun piece that isn't trying to be mistaken for anything other than a Seiko! Finally a win for the little guys!!
Welcome back! I really like your videos as we get to see all of the Zimbe limited editions and other cool Asian/JDM watches straight from the source. I love any orange colorway from Seiko and this is a stunner for sure. Great job and again, welcome back.
I've greatly missed these videos. The photography is always wonderful, and we get plenty of info, along with closeups of the watch in multiple lights and environments, plus lovely views of SE Asia. I'm glad you're back. As for the watch, I wasn't initially interested in it, but after seeing it in detail, I am now. But I think it'll be one of those pieces that collectors will go crazy over, and Seiko will struggle to keep in stock. Generally you can wait 6 months or so and the price will come down when the frenzied buying stops, but this one? Not sure. It's the first Seiko I've wanted in about 2 years, though. They have executed it nicely.
Hi, great to have you back making watch videos and on a watch I have just bought last week. Seiko 5 Orange GMT, Wow what a watch, stunning dial...And runs -2 seconds over 24 hours.
Excellent review, as always- beautifully shot, smoothly presented, insightful observations from the viewpoint of a true connoisseur/ collector. This is certainly a reference I’d add to my collection. It seems a step up from Seiko’s usual QC issues in terms of build quality and attention to detail, and that bezel insert…..! Personally I’d like to see a modern take on the 6119-6023 70m Sport diver, with the internal rotating bezel… Welcome back, please keep the reviews coming!
Your input is greatly appreciated. Your review work is top notch! Delighted to see you back. Expecting to standby for a few months and monitor the pricing for the Batman model.
Thank you for your review. I've been a childhood swiss fan and even recently went to try on Grand Seiko, never thought I would get one, with all due respect to Seiko and their history, nice but not really my taste. As soon as the orange dial seiko 5 came out, caught my eye, had to try it out and was ok with it, returned it. However, when I got the Orange GMT version with the jubilee bracelet (after trying on Rolex explorer 2 gmt with jubilee), would call this rolex-lite jubilee. For the price, excellent, GMT (had a VHP GMT prior, this one offers a lot for value) and can mod to sapphire and ceramic down the line. Added it to my collection, with Legend Diver-Milanese and PRX-Blue. Videos like yours help.
Great content! It looks like you are in the Philippines. Are there any watches or models that are better priced here than elsewhere? I was shocked to see Timex watches 3x the price compared to the US. Love the Seiko brand. Your vintage watches look awesome!
Not really impressed with the watch I have to say. Personally I’ve switched more to the solar prospex divers for ease of use and grab and go reasons. Plus they are larger than the Seiko 5’s mostly so more legible. Wearing re-issue Seiko Arnie on my wrist these days 🙂
How is this watch treating you so far? I love bright colours on my dials. I own a Breitling Super Avenger II in the venom yellow. I love and hate the watch. I love its style/colour and it garnishes compliments more than my Rolex Sea Dweller but the ETA movement is awful. Changing date/time is brutal…. it is very finicky and sometime the crown won’t screw down as it should. It’s an overpriced piece and I would not buy another. I want this SSK005 but not if the movement is junk.
Its not orange FYI its Sunburst orange and ugly as all sin insta return once I saw it in the light. If it came in orange like they marketed it, it would be a big winner. Marketing dept tried to save this dog and couldn't
