Your voice is so soothing to draw to lol. I'm trying to figure out how to draw the male body because of an idea that's been stuck in my head, thanks for making this video, it kept me company.
awkward_silence 02 happy to be of service!!! Thank you for drawing with me too 🙌🙌🙌 I hope to hear a progress report on how you’re mission is going throughout the series!
Whoa the face in this one is really something else. The reference is gorgeous of course, but watching you apply the skin color, it absolutely came to life in a very mesmerizing way. So so gorgeous and satisfying ❤️
I think I found your first channel during your last sketchbook challenge so I'm very happy you're doing another challenge!! its truly inspiring and relaxing at the same time. im hopeful this one'll go well too!
This is gorgeous!! I love the delicacy of the details on the face !! Would you ever be willing to do a video on how you achieve your skin tones with the watercolours you use?
Happy belated Bday!! I haven’t touched my old watercolors in a veryyy long time and never find the time to paint. Every time I watch your videos on watercolor it motivated me to go back into watercoloring again! Watching this video while Im drawing really helps me from ongoing stress of me stuck in my house bc of the recent issue. I can’t really go back outside anymore and my school is sadly closed so watching your videos really helps me! Im looking forward to drawing again with my dusty old watercolors again!
you have improved so much. i have not watched your videos on years because my YT activity dropped during school and job life and coming back to your current content it's amazing to see your progress. Damn :)
I didn't sketch as this video was playing, but I've been teaching myself some sketching habits too! Trying to go back to myself, and understand better what I want through sketching! It's nice to see that someone else is doing this at the same time as I do, can wait to see what you come up with! Have fun ❤️
What a lovely surprise to find you on RU-vid. Your artwork is truly inspiring. I've just started to dable a little bit in water colour again and I think I will follow you in your 30 day sketch book challenge. Not as professional as you but something every day 🙏💕
Hi Tori! I really enjoy watching your videos and your voice is so calming yet so motivating at the same time. It would be great to hear you in a podcast! Also belated Happy Birthday!!
that old series was how i first found your juicy ink channel! years ago at this point! im so excited to come with you on this new journey :D thanks for sharing!
omi gosh tori i remember wanting to stay up really late to watch your sketchbook series back then. im glad you're getting back into it! :D i did some drawing with you today and i hope you have a lovely week! looking forward to these videos since i wont be in school for a few weeks.
I love your watercolour paintings/sketches it's so beautiful!!! Thanks for making this video because I'm watching it while sketching in my sketchbook because watching you paint makes me want to do art too ^0^
Almera Rosli excellent question! The additional layers soaked into the paper and turned a patchy grey. You’ll see little bunch of fiber that look over saturated. Hope this helps!
@@LittleAmyHe I'm not her, but I think it is the paper quality. I personally don't have this problem with most papers, but I've seen something like it before...
@@VictoriaGedvillas Ah yes it did. Sorry I didn't get back quickly, I was just going through this playlist and saw your reply. Btw, I'm watching again to re learn all of the things before. I didn't get to practice and I want to start again as I forgot most of what I've learnt already. Kind of heartbroken to practice every day to suddenly stop a long time and now you realized you have forgot what you have been through already. Hoping to pick up my brush again and kick my depression away 🦶💥
1: happy birthday Tori! 2 this piece was beautiful I love it 😔❤️ 3: I found one way I was able to get back into a daily drawing habit was putting money in the back of my sketchbooks but taping it also that I didn't have access to it until I finish the book. There's also this Instagram and RU-vid channel called Sketchbook skool they have a lot of drawing prompts and inspiration if you need it 👉👈❤️
You look straight up ethereal both in reference and the painting. It's great. It's like this fun collab between you and Mr. Honeyball in a way. This was very pleasant to watch and hear you talk about the showing up part and trying to lower the pressure. I hope to do the same. I've been stressing myself out enough to take the joy out of my favorite pastimes which is obviously a no-go situation. Happy Late Birthday!
I painted along in my sketchbook to your video! (tagged you on Instagram) I've been drawing every day this year so far, with a lot of it being in my sketchbook - I've missed 3 days so far, but I think the thing that's kept me going even with those missed days is to not get too upset by them. Putting pressure on it takes a lot of the enjoyment out of it - a lot of January was a struggle because of that, but I hit my stride in February. I'm looking forward to flipping back through it in December.
I adore these style videos! Any time I’m feeling uninspired I pull up the whole playlist and let it run. I know you mention that daily videos are a lot to take on but I think even just an occasional sketchbook video would be fun! Just a though, hope you’re doing well 💕
Yayyy, I loved this video. Mr. Honiball captured your essence so well! I was just watching some of your sketchbook challenge videos, so this new series is a welcomed surprise! Maybe I could use your series as motivation for completing artworks. Occasionally I struggle with trying to finish drawings/paintings, sometimes I just get satisfied with just a part of the face done .... or I move on to another sketch to leave it unfinished, continuing the cycle. Obviously I don’t need everything to be finished but I’d like to see something to completion.
I’m a new subscriber! So hi! This is the video that made me subscribe and I really just love your art style. And your personality, listening to you talk is very soothing but also feels like company! I’m also drawing everyday, and I started doing this since June 19, 2019. Still going strong and I’m super proud of my progress. Seeing you also take on this journey is super motivating and revved me up even more!
happy belated birthday! I always enjoy listening to you as I draw, so this was awesome to watch and paint with. Your piece came out GORGEOUS and I think you really are nailing in and honing in your art style more and more.
I'm having the same problem when it comes to sketchbooks. I'll try and do a sketch but I get so mad at myself because I think the sketch looks so bad and I erase it but ever since my school closed I've been starting to do a sketch a day. Sort of like you are. I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel.
I paint in my sketchbook everyday. Some are finished pieces, some are experiments. The problem I have is making a painting on a larger scale and on separate stand alone paper. I did make my own sketchbook out of a few sheets of Arches cold press so I suppose I can always cut out a finished piece to frame. Somehow that doesn’t feel the same. I think I’m afraid of a single piece of paper rather than those sewn together in a sketchbook.
I have the same issue! It just feels like it has to be more...perfect when it’s not in my sketchbook. My sketchbook really is just my safe space, I can do whatever I want in it and I do something in it everyday! But when it comes to fully finished pieces outside of my sketchbook? They’re just so much more intimating and I don’t know how to overcome that. I get lazy and tell myself “I’ll do it when I get at a better skill level”
Sally Dagger I totally get you. But you know what? If you're anything like me I bet you've got lots of finished pieces, they just happen to be in your sketchbook. 😘
Hi Tori! I'm super excited for this video series. You are such a positive influence in my life and I always love seeing you embark on new goals and projects. However, if you start getting fatigued from making a video every day, please rest yourself, and focus on your art and wellbeing rather than feeling pressured to make us more videos! :) I hope you have a great time and good luck building your sketchbook habit!!
Love the series it’s so inspiring I need to get back into the habit too! But please don’t burn yourself out I’m sure everyone will be happy to watch even if you post it slower then every weekday :)
Yesterday was my father’s birthday as well. Happy birthday, ♓️ girl! 🎈 Congrats on making day one a productive one! I need to do this with you, for reals. 😎
Amazing as always!! You have been my biggest art inspiration for years, and EVERYTHING you create is stellar! Love this piece and CANNOT wait for day 2!!💞💞
Woo hoo new tori project!! This has just started at a time when I to have been getting familiar again with my own sketchbook. Already so inspired to jump in again. Best of luck with this project and keeping up for the full 30 days!! You got this 💪💪
Happy birthday! I just had my birthday last week. ☺️ Lovely work. Very transparent as usual. In times like these, (we are under community quarantine because of the pandemic), it really matters to have something you enjoy doing at home, something that relaxes you and you're passionate about.. and obviously, for us, it's art! and videos like yours are a great company. Thank you. 🙏
I just stumbled upon your channel and I have no clue how I didn’t find you sooner! I love your voice and your personality. I find a lot of artists are either so enthusiastic that it seems fake or they don’t sound like they enjoy what they’re doing. But you sound like you’re truly in love with what you’re doing and you don’t sound fake because there is nothing to fake! It’s amazing. You’re amazing. I’m definitely going to have to check out your Patreon. Sending love and wishes of safety ❤️
I didn't actually drew in my sketchbook (I really feel super self conscious about drawing and making mistaken so every time I draw it has to either be a preparation sketch or a finish piece) but I am trying to draw more. Since I can't go outside I am trying to draw things my fantasy comes up with. In this case, a mouse in a garden of mushroom with glowing lights all around him
Casually when I put on this video I was drawing on my sketchbook too, I've started recently a handmade sketchbook I made a few months ago - that's super long - and I'm hoping to get in the habit of sketching more too - or I might never get to finish that monstrosity!! 🤣 Anyway! I loved how your self-portrait turned out, it looks so cute! Good luck with this new adventure, Tori, I'm sure you'll rock it!
I love watching the process to your wonderful pieces and art style and it’s such a nice environment to work with for my own art. I’m doing my own watercolour piece for a friend and I hope I turns out well. Love your videos 🥰
w a h i love watching u draw & paint so much!! i’ve watched ur vids for so long lmao and i’ve been obsessed w the way you paint since the beginning. i love how decisive your strokes are while still coming out soft but detailed. truly Goals
Yaaay Happy Birthday Tori!!!!! I'm excited for this series! Going to try and sketchbook with you. My goal is to do some small environment studies so that I can incorporate backgrounds more into storytelling! When I need breaks from that, I'm going to do gesture studies. Cheering you on!
Happy birthday(even if it's late) Tori! I have the exact opposite problem: i draw and paint *only* in my sketchbook because i feel I would waste paper if i did a "good" piece and because i dont feel like i'm good enough yet to give it a go even tho i'm practicing and experimenting since more than a year already and people around me tell me i'm good... but egh, you only see your flaws yourself
You are so inspirational! & your voice is soooo calming, love your videos! I’ve just turned my notifications on so I never miss one 🥰 I love the way the paint works in your sketchbook, I will try hunt one. Although I think I’m more the problem when it comes to sketchbooks than the paper itself (creatively impaired 😅).
Heya! hi, I'm new to your channel, not gonna lie, I love it! (I hope I don't sound weird,😅) you have a very soft and soothing voice, it's so nice and your art is over the top AMAZING! I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos in the future, btw, I was watercoloring with you, it's nice to have a watercolor buddy, and I hope to be accepted into your artistic sketchbook habit journey someday!😌☺
Oh yay, a new sketchbook challenge!! I'm so excited to ease into a new schedule and be able to look forward to your content coming out during it all -- I think it's a good thing for creatives to remember to create even during crazy times such as these. I really appreciated your thoughts on stylization and using photo reference- I'd just love to hear some more thoughts on it from you! (And happy belated birthday, and today is my birthday so this video is now extra special to me hehe~ starting a challenge with your birthday is really fun!)
I've felt so similarly lately, and I just set up my own sketchbook to reconnect with sketching and painting yesterday so this feels like fate! I'm excited to kind of do this challenge with you and see where we are in a month! I'm hoping to loosen up and play with colors. Happy belated birthday also
Sarah Campli I progressively get more cranky about the sketchbook throughout the series 🙈 I think I’m just having an eh week with it, maybe next time I pick it up it’ll be better :3
