@The Legend of Texas i see your point about boring and unexciting but so is the passat the superb is based on. It is supposed to be a no bs comfortable and practical car which it is.
walentaz And Czech and Slovakia are both known for rather harsh winters to. So they both know what their cars need to be able to withstand on a daily basis. Also you should never question reliability with Škoda. They may make their current cars with VW money, but they‘re still very communistic. So the styling may for some be a bit fussy and the interior may not be quite that good as a Passat and the ride probably won‘t either, but it‘s just not that far off and the fact that it‘s several thousand pounds cheaper, just screams excellent value for money.
Look bmw, mercedes, porche are kings of auto industry in europe and maybe much more but vw is best in "affordable" brands, like citoren peugeot skoda renault, opel, seat ford etc... quality is everything because you can see how is made passat and how is made peugeot 407 from 2009 maybe, vw is just better in term of everything its just example but im not vw fun I have two opel cars at home..
I don't understand why people say the Skoda looks boring, the massive beautiful smiling grill, the slick shape, Superb is everything a human would want in a car, you'll feel good or even happy when you drive a superb, it'll be your best friend. Its not flashy yet exciting.
@@GabrielHakulin always these people who wanna drive a Porsche but only for the price of a Skoda. If you want to have a strong engine then go to Audi, WV, Mercedes or whatever you like
Manuel Hermann that’s not my point. Look at VW and securing their models. Like Škoda’s inability to produce sharper version of fabia/scala because of GTI lineup
@@GabrielHakulin I think Škoda is supposed to offer a good value for money and top notch practicality, not a sports car. They are a cup of tea for more reasonable people.
As someone who's driven Volvo for twenty years - this comment makes me childishly happy! Never thought anybody would call Volvo cool! ;) (I totally think it is of course!)
@@mohammedsalimahmed5230 The new designs are brilliant! I do a lot of trade with China, so no prejudice there. My next car is the new V60 and I'm really looking forward to picking it up.
@@orvarino It's basically styling wise. A lot of brands recently started doing new design's while some brands have had almost no changes for the last 10 years. A lot of car's had 4-5 refreshes in a row and have become boring.
@@martinliptak1436 which is great but battery power is DC

I had a Skoda Octavia Estate for 9 years, and it was an awesome car. Just trade it for a plug-in hybrid BMW. If Skoda already had plug-in hybrid versions, I would have stayed with the brand. This new Superb is gorgeous.
Did you have any problems at all with the skoda and how's the bmw running

@@Aaron987-u2w it had to replace the clutch at around 80k km, but the brand supported it. It was a fabrication defect apparently. Other than that nothing to say. And it even had some things the Beemer doesn’t have, like retracting side mirrors :) I’m also very satisfied with the BMW. The brand is great, the service is great, and sometimes evens less expensive than Skoda (or VW/Audi). It has a decent amount of power (224hp is good from European standards), and it’s quick thanks to it’s four wheel drive system (hence the X in the 225xe name): the ICE engine pulls the front wheels and the electric motor pulls the back ones. I usually use it for around 60km a day and the consumption is always around 3 or 3,5 Lt/100km because the battery only does around 22km in pure VE mode (it’s really the only downside in my opinion but since the car is from 01/2018, the batteries were smaller than the current ones. You can make 40/42km with those).
I own the white L&K superb from last years model and it’s lush. Very comfortable and looks amazing in white. Really pretty car. My only niggle is Skoda stopped selling the incar TV in my version. Which annoys me as all my colleagues with the older car can all watch TV when sitting in traffic where as I cannot.
@Thomas Lörinczi New Peugeots are much improved and they also have the nicest interior design. The company is having a great period - sales records, increased profits, they're going back to the USA etc.
@@eug3nius True, they do feels nice. I was on test ride of new 508. First thing one notices is that interior quality is much improved and that exterior is much nicer in person. But steering wheels block view of the dashboard and seat is too low for everyday driving. Skoda does feel dumb or without any emotions compared to it but imo offer much more funcionality. Didnt end buying neither though...
@A real bisexual petrol-head No, although there were speculations that superb would be made in germany, it turned out superb would stay in the Czech Republic and that the same plant would manufacture Passat too, because VW is now focusing on electric cars.
so you cover the new superb but not the new passat? any particular reason as tho why you are ignoring the model, so much so that you haven't done a video on the previous facelift, despite doing one for the golf
Yea, i see it, I think the car look just a bit fresher, and a bit better overall, than prefacelift. But I don't think this restyling was necessary, changes isn't significant, in my opinion.
I’ve got a 2012 Superb Estate with all the goodies. It’s done 140k without so much as a frown. I’m so happy with it I can’t find a single reason why I would move it on and buy another car. It’s been, well....superb.
@The Legend of Texas Really? An old Mercedes instead of a new Škoda? No thanks. As Henry Ford once said (I think it was him): "The best car is a new car."
My first car was : fiat NE sedan 2 was: swift hatchback 3 was: xuv 500 w8 4th was:toyota Fortuner3.0 And now am having skoda superb L&k.. And my nxt will be definitely an range rover velar.. 😇
Hi Matt, as you said, swooshy lights like from a 2015 Audi... but you forgot to say Audi charged €1800 for them as an added extra.. If this SUPERB had 4 rings on its grill it would be 15grand extra and the badge knobs would lap it up... give credit were credit is due Matt..
The Superb is a nice car but I do think that grill would look better if they used the honeycomb effect like the front bumper does. Or like the Mondeo ST line grill effect.
Would have loved to see the flexible seat system from the Karoq in this new Superb. Can't think of a car if rather go on a ski trip in than this but with two single seats in the back
As an ex taxi driver this car appeals to me-big time. Due to Ill health I am now a Motability customer, so I’ll await this car with enthusiasm if it’s included on the scheme-with the same level of zeal as taxi driver will no doubt!
Superb is looking like the better option compared to the Octavia, not a fan of the facelift with split headlights. Looking forward to seeing the sportline version of this superb!
