Also sadly, not really a smart. At least not what we knew as smart for more than two decades. A Chinese built-Mercedes designed collaboration with Geely? Yes. When VW brought back the Beetle, they kept the styling. So did Fiat with the 500e. As well as BMW with the Mini Cooper. This?.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@lordmellis7135 Mercedes should have hired me to fix this car’s name. Did someone allow a child to name this car? Why not call it the ForFour, or even a ForFive. Or maybe an EQ4 or EQ5 for the number of passengers it can carry (or the number of doors it has). Anything but #1. What’s the next one gonna be called? #2? 💩 Seriously. The car may be nice, but the seem to have forgotten 1. What a smart should look like. 2. What it should be priced like. And 3. What it should be called. Ah, well.. it’s only 50% MB’s fault as Geely ownes the other half. Guess they deserve half the blame. Moving on. I proudly own two smart ForTwo electric drives, one coupe & one cabrio.. I’d buy another ForTwo without hesitation. This though.. it’s basically a Chinese built EQA to me and should have been named as such. Slapping a smart logo and badge on it does not magically make it a smart. But hey, seems like the execs think this is what’s needed to grow the brand, more power to them. But I know I’m not the only one confused with the name, the price, and the styling for a car carrying the smart nameplate. Now as far as Tesla goes, they don’t need my help. S, X, 3, Y.. that bloody brilliant if you ask me.

Really sorry, it was some time ago but I didn’t ask them that when had the car for the day. Yes it is only in electric, smart haven’t produced a petrol car in quite a few years now

Hey Peter, lithium-ion batteries can be used across all percentages during their life and are never confined to being above 50%. That would make them unusable day to day. What should be recommended is that batteries are not stored for lengths of time at either end (below 20% or higher than 80%). So if you’re going away on holiday, not using the car, that is when you’d want to stick to 50% or there abouts. Any other time, you can use the car at any percentage this will not affect the warranty. Battery warranties are often 8 years on EV’s so I presume it’s the same for the smart #1.

@@npoleary thanks a lot. :) I trust you more than other youtubers. really can't understand why there is so much confusion around the boot size. Just one video where one guy in an early preview stated it had 180 litres. :/ even looking at the video that's clearly nowhere near accurate.

Hey Jagjit, ah they’re sold at Mercedes dealerships 🤓 Mercedes allow me to review their cars so as I often review them, I thought it would be quite fitting to see how it compared 🤓 And it’s quite surprising! There’s lots of standard equipment! 😇

I’ll check out the multimedia system in the future for sure and let you know! Apple CarPlay not on the pre-production car but will be on cars purchased. I’ve heard there may be a couple from launch that won’t have it but they’ll be a software update before Christmas which will give it to them all.

@@npoleary I hope it has. I currently have the GLB premium and the 3D map view is so much better than a Birds Eye view as it gives a sense of direction (as does the supporting augmented reality direction on screen). The OS of this car though… I’m not sure it will stay like this for long. It’s playful but I think it’s really gimmicky for the sake of being different. But if CarPlay gets added like you’ve mentioned, it won’t matter for most. Thanks for your reply.
