I was recently in a collision with the S-works ll helmet. I was very lucky. I’m now buying the S-Works lll. I believe this helmet is very effective in what it’s designed to do. The mips really saved my head. The magnet strap held strong. I would definitely recommend this helmet for triathletes that train on public roads. Thanks for the video.
Oh yeah, my impact was enough to split the helmet in the back and broke one of the inside internal straps allowing the mips to do its job. After several cat scans and x-rays nothing broken. Minor concussion was all with 2 stitches above my chin below my lower lip and 2 stitches on the inside opposite of the outside, soar jaw, aches and pains at the shoulders and ribs. The magnet strap was still together. 😊
I have been in crashes with the mag strap, never felt like it would come apart without me intentionally unfastening it. Best feature of the helmet in my opinion.
I like the evade 2 better. The design of the evade 2 is very distinctive and more aggressive esp the horizontal vents on the forehead area. This evade 3 looks like other normal aero helmets. For its looks, no angi, no convenient magnetic strap, heavier, and more expensive, not an upgrade for me from my sworks evade 2 angi mips. Thanks for your early review very helpful to consumers!!
So the price has gone up, like everything else at the moment. But at the same time they also removed the ANGI that came as standard on the previous model. Unforgivable.
Can you make a video showing how to take the pads out? I have a Prevail II now and have never been able to get the brow pad out, have to just wash it with it still attached.
Prefer my Evade 2...won't be "upgrading" just yet. At last I can carry across my Angi if I do (which I am not allowed to do solo rides without...apparently).
Yeah sure I'm gonna spend 300$ for 10% more ventilation and no wattsavings. And the ANGi Sensor doesn't even come with the helmet anymore?? The bike industry goes into the wrong direction the last few years
Are you european? I did some digging and found the european versions of the evade 3 are about 40 gramms lighter due to less strict laws... all-white M is labeled as 270g for EU and as 310g for US standards...
another cool video in my opinnion the other models of helmets that you show on the video the prevail series are more cool and had more ventilation from what i can deduct
why... the mag buckle whas awesome, i crasched in mine and it stayd on. i guess i can just move over the mag one to the new wen replacing it. The Evade whas the first helmet that i can wear without looking like a shroom XD
That's insane, $300 and they don't even have an integrated visor? The giro aerohead is more aero, has a visor that covers your ears, and half the price
I had bought a different helmet on Amazon at the beginning of this summer for my big headed daughter to wear while bicycling and scootering. ru-vid.comUgkx0ipcYkXV-2YCp_cBN3HLfzR_OoD0HQYx Well it was WAY too big and not adjustable at all. Previously we had really expensive but adjustable helmets from the local bike store and I didn't really want to pay $50 again for another helmet. I searched and was fairly sure from the reviews that this helmet was what I was looking for- and it was! The pads inside are comfortable, the rim in front provides a bit of shade, but most of all for me there is the dial adjuster in the back which allows for a really secure fit on my daughters head. It seems like it will fit for a few years too which makes me even happier! She loves the pattern and I might end up buying another one for her twin sister (who has a much smaller head!)I definitely recommend this helmet. My daughter is 5 but has a big head. Her twin sister could fit in this one as well but it's a bit big.
Oh dear Evade 3, more like they Evaded progression. Cheaper buckle, more expensive, and heavier! More cumbersome looking from the back too. I say back to the drawing board with the rule not to cut corners on from the Evade 2 & improve not worsen it for the sake of cost cutting & Asian manufacturers. How dare they drop the magnetic buckle. Sigh..
