Reed you and the whole team provided us with a awesome and educational experience the other day. Glad you were safe throughout the chase. Thank you for your daring adventures.
This video is the clearest illustration of the birth of a tornado. All from the best expert on severe storms, from genesis to death, Dr. Reed Timmer. How fortunate we are to have someone thats dedicated his life to the understanding of severe weather! We can't THANK him enough!
So sad my daughter's friend's father died in this horrific tornado .Our prayers go out to the families and friends! May God watch over all of our people and great storm chaser's like Reed!
I am so sorry. This hit just miles north west of me. This is only my second year in Oklahoma. When I went outside and looked at the sky, I didn't know really what I was seeing. My brain couldn't make sense of it. I took some pictures, probably at that time it was already on the ground. I felt an incredible sense of thankfulness that it wasn't me, and then extreme guilt for feeling thankful. I love Oklahoma, that's why I moved here, but it's hard to get used to this.
@@Equestrianista_ This happened 2 days (?) ago now at my time of writing and your comment is almost a day old (hyperbolically speaking). Tell me how exactly are they supposed to film this, edit, and upload this, in virtually 0 hours, and even then, get information the SECOND it's out, and even then, "lucky" that anyone found out so fast? It can take DAYS for people to be "excavated" in certain cases. And it's not normal for everyone to get help the SECOND the tornado has passed. Not to mention this happened JUST before onset of night. In a place where all power lines and artificial lights went down. If you pondered it a bit harder in advance, maybe you wouldn't wonder? Pardon my tone but it's a direct counter to the conspiracist tone of yours. No hidden agenda or emotions, just cynically replying :)
This tops the video of the kid who got caught going back into a tornado earlier this year. Just when I thought that video would win tornado of the year footage, Reed says no chance! Your partner has great awareness and he’s such a nice addition to your storm chases! Pay the man to become your full time partner! He is educated, sophisticated, and passionate, and he brings much needed professionalism to the stream.
I watched this live, Reed. That was the most intense chase I have ever seen. But please do not put yourself in harm's way. It is good of you to stop and check on people's homes and shelters. From the drone footage, one house is wrecked while the one next to it looks completely untouched. Your chases, giving early warnings, have saved many lives! Thankyou, Reed. (London, U.K.).
I've been watching Reed since day 1 of storm chasers. The passion, excitement, knowledge, science and compassion is what makes his videos like none other. Never stop chasing Reed!!!
At least it's not high pitched girly screams. I think it would be hard for anyone not to holler. The original Cole footage is better than any movie/series I've ever watched about tornadoes.
Reed bringing a team into the mix is a game changer. Having someone to pick his stream up when it goes down is massive. Keep going guys. That million sub mark isn't far off.
I haven't been following you for long. A few years maybe. But I just want to say I really like and appreciate this videos editing style. I also enjoy having someone on your stream when you cut out! Super helpful and keeps me on your channel and not jumping all over the place. Thanks so much for all you do.
Hearing about this tornado was devastating. Thank you for everything you do, Reed. You're here to inform people and save lives, I seriously can't thank you enough for what you do. Never stop chasing!
@@joefletch3735 I don’t know if considers it lucky that it hit the town, but from the perspective of someone chasing a tornado that would be pretty lucky to get to see an EF5 that close
He took a couple of unnecessary risks, professional PhD or no. But it was an amazing thing. I was watching him do this as he was broadcasting live stream. I was like...dude. You drove into it with multiple vortices around it?
I lived through the F-5 on 3 May 1999 that hit OKC, Norman, Moore, Midwest city Del city...that twister killed 44 people. We survived in our bathroom. I was stationed at Tinker AFB at the time
I love watching Reeds chases from New Zealand. He's a real character and actually a very good teacher of the technical aspects. His enthusiasm is infectious and inspiring. I hope to capture a tornado on camera here in NZ some time soon, we've had two damaging tornados cut through town in the past 2 months, not as big as this though. Stay safe Reed.
@@matthewmosier8439 we don't get big supercells very often, most tornados form in pre frontal convection with high windshear. Where I am, the southern alps mountain range create a low level jet stream from the north east which interacts with upper level Jetstream from the north west. Any deep convection ahead of a cold front can form a mesocyclone in this situation. The tornados are usually short lived, and have a rating of ef0 - ef2, occasionally ef3. These tornados are relatively frequent though, my small town (10'000 people) has a damaging tornado pass through about once every 2 years.
Watched this LIVE, and my jaw was dropped when the transformers were blowing up and Reed was zooming in reverse as fast as he could...STUNNING footage!!!
Thanks for sharing again. I saw your live yesterday and was clenching my fist as you were making your way around the downed power lines! I’m glad nobody was home. And that you are ok. That thing was moving and debri started flying everywhere!
I’ve watched you log hours and hours of just boredom and driving long miles with no pay off, so it’s gotta be rewarding getting footage like this. As much as I know you’re a pro, I still worry when I see y’all this close. Stay safe!
Keep doing you Reed! Anyone who’s complaining about your intercept yesterday must not know who YOU ARE. Reed is literally the ONLY chaser on this Earth that I would be confident enough to ride along with. The way he commentated what was going on, down to the wind shifts, as it happened was INSANE. You are truly special Dr. Timmer!!!
And then recognizing that it was coming right back at them and throwing it in reverse to get out of the way, not many chasers would have realized what was happening there!
Thank you very much for the educational video. There are more and more strong tornadoes in Poland and I have been learning from your materials for several years. It always breaks my heart when I see these losses and these people... You can't get used to this. Greetings from Poland and be safe.
Dr. Timmer's clear documentation of tornado structure extremely up close explains the mechanics of a violent tornado about the best as has ever been shown... Thank you Reed!!!
Honestly, I think this footage even surpasses the Andover footage you got last year. That footage had the clearest view of a tornado I've ever seen, but this one was something else; the horizontal vortices, the multiple vortexes, the debris flying all around including that big trashcan that just flew past you guys just barely missing you, and then just the fact of how close you guys were to it. The fact that I saw this happen live and also saw the Andover footage happen live is incredible. Fantastic stuff and thank goodness that house was empty. Hopefully next time you guys chase, a cop doesn't come and block you in with a powerful tornado bearing down on you!
This video had me on the edge of my seat. my house is always full of grandchildren, so this has me making a plan for the future to keep us safe as a ef3 hit Little Rock where we live not too long ago. Thank you for what you do stay safe
As a life long Okie, we know that when Reed goes, we “follow” staying weather aware. So many chasers, RU-vidrs and meteorologists got left flat footed on this one! Prayers go out to all who were in the path of both storms that night! Well done, Reed!
This chase and study of the target storm's evolution into the powerful Cole tornado was absolutely riveting! Dr Reed Timmer is the best storm chaser to watch. He knows how to get results and is so engaging. Great production and informative narration, Brian and Team!
This was an incredible production of this event, from the livestream, to the first condensed HD upload, to this fantastic play-by-play. Awesome job Team Dominator, you keep raising the bar!
Hands down, the most amazing tornado footage since El Reno in 2013. I think this footage along with the radar signature (Fujiwhara Effect) will be studied by Meteorologists for many years.
I'm really glad you use your experience to educate people about these powerful storms. I grew up in Wisconsin so I've seen firsthand what they can do and how to protect myself. People move into the tornado belts from all over and have no idea how to do it.
Reed, you nailed every aspect of this storm, from start of supercell to touchdown of tornado, and explained it very well as it was happening. Amazing! Keep doing what you do and stay safe.
Probably the most incredible tornado footage I've ever seen live. Reed, keep doing what you're doing. You're teaching all the newbies how to do it properly and professionally.
I was watching you from the start of this chase and during this tornado my mouth was hanging open in wonderment and afraid for you! Thank you for what you do and please be safe!
The raw footage was already amazing, but this video, with the explanations and enhancements, is even better! Thank you for sharing this, and I'm glad you guys are safe after such an exhilarating experience!
Dr. Reed, I don't know what it is about this particular video that is so intense it brings tears to my eyes, but this is really one of the very best tornado videos I've ever seen, and I've seen just about every tornado video on youtube. Thank you for educating me, and Never. Stop. Chasing!
I don't want to sound callous or indifferent to how people were affected by this, but, by a scientific standpoint, this is one of the most incredible videos of a tornado I've ever seen. Reed, the way you navigated around it was perfection. This will no doubt be used to help scientists learn more about the movement and potential danger of tornadoes, and save lives in the process.
This video is incredible in its production and its educational value to the weather community. Glad ya'll were safely dominating. Thank you for all you do.
The more time goes by, the more I appreciate meteorologists and storm chasers. This is an important reminder that your safety and your life are not guaranteed when chasing a tornado, these folks are putting their lives on the line for this work!
This is breathtaking footage! Reed was in a very dangerous situation with a very unpredictable tornado. I have to give props to the gentleman that not only narrated this vid, but also who does narration/ radar coverage with Reed’s live streams! He’s a fantastic addition to the channel!
That is sad, and the damage path was crazy, that mansion had me kinda smirking for just a millisecond, because I know they have the money to rebuild, especially the three level pool, but it's all these other houses that hurts me, the little man, that hurts my soul to see this
I'm so happy you made it out safely man! My anxiety was going crazy This was one of the most intense tornadoes I've seen on video and this time live. You are doing a great service to your country! ❤️ You're awesome!
By a loooong long margin, this is one of the best put together "After Chase Stream" Tornado video's I have ever seen. Excellent job both on the ground and behind the scenes to put this together. Really well done Team Dominator !!
Thank you Dr Timmer. I was riding along with you that day in the live stream. Totally on the edge of my seat. Nice call on the retreat. Several near misses... that's not just luck, but includes skill and knowing what you are dealing with on an expert level. NEVER STOP CHASING!
The surge after the tornado had passed was the most intense I've ever seen. Wild footage. I hope you managed to get some top notch data from the gravitrons and other sensors that you deployed.
I was watching this live the other night!! It’s fascinating to have a front row seat (with someone else behind the wheel!) to the raw power of nature. Love watching Reed on the move!!!!
Omgg❤️❤️ Thanks so much for hearting my comment @Reed Timmer keep your eyes out for the storms I’m still keeping up I capture some good stuff yesterday storm here in IL
@Reed Timmer and @Brian V. O’Toole by far the best storm chasing team in the industry. Reed’s unparalleled knowledge, dedication to education and science combined with Brian’s storytelling and production talent is the combination so many of us have been looking for. Congratulations on a successful chase! NSC!
Perfect example of DOMINATING the way to chase! I watched this live and this clip is another example of why Dr. Reed is a great meteorologist, teacher, chaser and a great person! Saving lives is what he’s about!! NSC❤
Dr.Timmer thank you for all you do to further educate us and inform all of us each and every chase. In my opinion you are the G.O.A.T. of storm chasers and of providing scientific data for future generations to come. Admire what you do sir, keep doing what your doing and keep on chasing!
This is absolutely horrifying but what he does is educational and saves people. I personally couldn’t do this but thank Reed for your bravery! I pray for the people’s families who were lost and send them my condolences. ❤
Well i want lie, we were worried after y’all became parked between the poles and lines on the ground… Just good to see y’all pulled through and provided a great but horrible tragedy video to allow others to tell your stories… Outstanding work
At minute 3:54 he passes the road that circles to the second road he passes at minute 4 with the metal silo looking building. That is my gmas neighborhood. As they stopped and looked, the tornado was over my gmas house. It took most of her house completely but they are alive and mostly uninjured. That was our families holiday gathering spot. Looking at the pictures of the home now is surreal because it's all items, cabinets, doors that I recognize and know from my entire life, thrown about in piles of rubble. I also have a picture of their laundry room door with a hole right at my nefews head height where he had just bent down and a piece of debri flew through the door at that second. It almost took his head off! We are all in shock, but it's hard not to watch these videos and be in awe over mother nature's power.
How do people not see the difference between the way Reed chases and the way others chase? There's a huge difference and this was an awesome, educational stream! NSC!
Because to stay sane Reed uses humor at times. That and his desire to get just a little closer have put him at odds with other researcher's that believe he is too cowboy. Those that hate his style will still pour over his research like it is tornado crack.
Riveting footage, informative narration, best video of up-close tornado coverage I have ever seen! My heart and prayers go out to the families who have been impacted.
@@ReedTimmerWx gotcha! Y'all make a really good team. This was a great explanation video. I'm excited to see what the future brings! Im a weather nerd, grew up in the Midwest & now in SC. I live vicariously through you! Good luck chasing! ✌️
Reed, this chase was the best one yet!!! Thanks for going into detail with everthing that was happening with this tornado! Also thanks to Brian for breaking down radar!!
I've been following your channel, Mr. Timmer for a very long time. I truly enjoy your videos, and I'm super grateful that you were okay. Continue to give us phenomenal science, videos, and pictures, buddy.
Excellent video! And thanks for taking us along. Glad you are safe and there was not more damage. Looking forward to more education from your scientific experiment. Keep it coming!
This is such a great video! From video footage to panic screams from Reed to the narrator. It really puts you in place of this tornado. You feel the anxiety and learn so much about how dangerous a tornado is and how you need to seek shelter. Great job!
Thank you for gorgeous footage on tornadoes, Reed! As a survivor from one of these storm events, I cannot thank you enough for your continuous dedication in research on these beasts. They are absolutely mesmerizing as well. It was difficult to take shelter when an EF3 was coming towards my house. The craziest part of it was we somehow still had power as it was approaching from one of our fields. It was surreal. I love your videos and look forward to all of the footage you get in the future
