I think its likely that they will add a tech tree for field emplacements. Not anytime soon but I think thats the only way to implement the later war and higher caliber field guns and AA pieces. So you can "equip" different AA guns and field guns to your engineer squads and they later ones probably take longer to build and take more resources but can-do different stuff. I would love to see the IG 18 with 75mm of HE and HEAT or the later and much larger pak 40 for berlin for example.
The AA change i like more because what people arent talking about is the major change in damage, reload and Ammo consumption. Yes, i'll probably still build my second AA as soon my first one runs out of ammo but this time i'll be able to use them for longer. I also believe that this is to get people associated with the new AA cannons to bring in SPAA tanks.
Well, since Britain is getting it's own tree later on after the progression update, they'll probably get it for themselves & the US will get the Oerliken
As much as I like the new nation-specific AA guns, I don’t like that they nerfed them all to do it. The real downgrade here is the Japanese, who now have no weapon capable of dealing with A-20 raids, excepting the premium Ki-61. The Zero isn’t fast enough to close to a distance where the 20mm can be aimed properly, and is too fragile to withstand 5-10 .50cals shooting back at it from the turrets. The Claude only gets 7.7s and is even slower and more fragile. The Val is slightly more durable, but is even slower and also only has 7.7s. And the Jake and Kate don’t even have offensive guns. The Quad 20 could kill the A-20s pretty reliably, but the Ta-Se with its single 20mm didn’t do enough damage to kill more than one, maybe two bombers before they were out of range again. Now the Japanese mounted AAA gun is exactly the same cannon as mounted in the Ta-Se. So now Japan can’t really do anything about A-20 raids anymore. I feel like they need to give each country a more powerful AAA mount, even if it’s just for the level II engineer squads, the ones that can build MG nests. The US/UK could get a towed quad .50 mount (yeah it’d do less damage per shot than a 20mm, but it’d have a much higher rate of fire, be easier to aim, and have better penetration leading to easier pilot snipes), the Soviets could get a single mount 37mm (low rate of fire but would absolutely obliterate any plane it hits), Germany could get the quad 20mm back, and Japan could get a triple or double 25mm mount (lower volume of fire than the quad 20, but slightly higher damage per shot to compensate) and that’d give every nation an AA gun that’s capable of shooting down medium bombers again. Right now, the light AA guns are fine at shooting down fighters and dive bombers, but not at dealing with the medium bomber raids.
The Polsten is incorrectly animated, the barrel sleeve should move around the barrel instead of the barrel reciprocating since it's blowback operated instead of recoil operated
THE GRB ONE IS HUGE. LITERALLY THE REASON I STOPPED PLAYING TUNISIA. tanks were so damn hard to kill with the GRB bc it was zeroed out to like 100 meters only it made using it so awkward
new aa guns are cool, but i have some problem with them, one is small, another one is giant (i look at you soviets), and two of them doesnt have any shield so you are out there in open, evey single sniper can kill you from front easily. But i like that they have one cannon now. they are still very powerfull but more balanced since you cant just click once and destroy plane like earlier. stabilizers are nice, american tanks were really in big disadventage agains german tanks but now you can shoot on the move on low-mid range and that can save you some pain. i think that new golder orders for weapons are nice buuuut they are not something that i would buy at that point when your other weapons are very good. but that fg42 with rifle grenade launcher. it sound broken, fg is good enough for now and with those nades launching, yep. it will cause havoc. i dont know if its just me but it looks like its mag is larger? but good to have zeroing distance now, it was annoying and was kinda surprised they didnt added it instantly. custom hangar is nice, finally some fresh air
All good, but I'm still waiting for the major 3rd person animation overhaul. Like, the animations are even worse than what we had back in Ostfront 15 years ago. They should look at something like BFV or even Warzone and replace the animations
The Soviet one is probably the best of the new AAA guns. 25mm as opposed to 20, so it does significantly more damage. Yeah it’s only got a 10 round magazine, but it’s got a loader so it reloads faster than all the others.
