Dr. Dray, I'm wearing sunscreen every day for the first time in 34 years because of you! I've never found one that worked with my sensitive skin (I break out with everything, including anything with niacinimide so yay for these Eucerin ones) until I tried the La-Roche Posay Melt-in that you recommended in your favorites. Now, I feel like the skincare I do is actually worth it because I'm protected from the sun!
Same here!! Loving the LP melt in milk after many fails, I actually get excited to put it on. I like that it's easy to find at target vs ordering Japanese ones online but there's a few of those I want to try out too. I still watch these videos too because I'm now genuinely so interested in the art of sunscreen formulations lol
I am a Eucerin junkie-I love their products. I saw the "Age Defense" sunscreen at Target a couple of weeks ago and bought a couple of them. I love it so far--it's very moisturizing and goes on nicely. Might try the oil control one just to see what it's like.
I struggle sooo much with sunscreens breaking me out, I’ve tried so many and the Hero one has been so good! It gets me to actually wear sunscreen the way I should without worrying about breaking out. Not sure what the magic is there, but I love it!
dr. dray, thank you SO much for all your videos and prioritizing health. my parents were poor and grew up in a small village so protecting the skin from the sun just wasn't a thing for them or for me growing up due to that. now as an adult i have been confused about skincare products, especially all the different sunscreens, and your videos have helped me so much! you are an amazing person!
Yes it does! And it makes the formula lighter and very nice to wear... Unfortunately it is impossible to wear if you have sensitive skin 😢... I used to love those formulas but now (I'm on a anti acne traitement that makes my skin ultra sensitive...) I can not use it anymore... And it is soooo hard to find a sunscreen that is ok with sensitive skin, but which is not heavy/white/ultra thick 😅!
Omg I got the eucerin age defense as my first sunscreen after going down the dr dray rabbit hole and have been PRAYING you would talk about it! I do get a little eye itching from it, but it’s so little that I don’t fear it
I’m always looking for American sunscreens that are easily found at the drugstore so I’m going to try these out. These reviews are so helpful thank you.

Remember You are strong, you got this! Never forget that! Sending much Love over from an Ukrainian in Poland♥️🌟
I can't wait to try the Age Defense, fingers crossed it won't bother my eyes. It looks beautiful on you, and great price! My fave is the EltaMD UV Elements. That's the one I use when I'm running errands or have to be around people other than my family, the finish is gorgeous on my mature skin. Most days when I'm just around the house I look for cheaper alternatives. Currently using Isntree Watery Sun Gel (love, but a bit too glowy for public use) and DRMTLGY Physical Universal Tinted Moisturizer (love that it's super moisturizing, but makes me look really greasy). I've used DRMTLGY for a few years now but will not repurchase. Also, the price keeps creeping up. Hoping the Age Defense can replace this. When walking the pup, I'm in the Australian Gold tinted. It holds up really well while sweating and although a bit drying for my skin, it's only on for an hour per day. I also throw on my neck garter from Coolibar and that has been the biggest gamechanger for my neck skin. Truly one of the best things I've purchased. Thank you Dr. Dray, your work is amazing.
In case anyone was wondering, the only difference between the Age Defense and Oil Control sunscreens is that the Age Defense one has hyaluronic acid and the Oil Control one doesn't. For the Oil Control sunscreen, L-Carnitine is a bit higher on the list. Otherwise, the ingredients lists are identical.
I just got that Eucerin Age Defense Face Sunscreen Lotion and I’m really liking it so far! It’s very aesthetically pleasing to apply-definitely more like a lightweight moisturizer than a heavy uncomfortable sunscreen. Doesn’t have a strong spf smell too.
Excellent. Have tried quite a number of them. Usually not sensitive to smell. But it is so overwhelming. Good that they came up with at least much less fragrance
I saw the Eucerin products at Walmart the other day, and I successfully resisted the temptation to buy any. I keep buying sunscreen every time I go out for no reason and I won’t even use it because I already have a tried and true 😅 Currently using Colorescience Classic Shield. I love it so much. A little pricey, but I keep repurchasing. I have dry sensitive skin with redness/some pigmentation. I appreciate the hydration this gives me and just the overall finish on my skin. It evens me out and gives a nice glow- an initiative to wear it every day 🥰
I just purchased three out of the four, I have dry skin, and I love Eucerin. Eucerin is one of the first products I purchased because Dr. Dray recommended it, and for my skin, I cannot go wrong with the Eucerin brand! Thank you so much, Dr. Dray! You got me to be more serious in incorporating spf in my daily skincare!
I have been using the Eucerin Age Defence for a few months. I loved it from the first application. Glad to see your review is positive and that you like it too!🌸
Thank you for mentioning that the Eucerin products are niacinamide free. I have a strong suspicion that niacinamide irritates my skin and yes, it has become a challenge to find products that don't contain it!
I just bought the R & R tinted sunscreen and I love it! I have oily skin and this sunscreen dries matte after it settles into your skin. It doesn't pill like other sunscreens I've tried. Will definitely be my go to tinted sunscreen!
Excited about the Hero sunscreen! I have never found a chemical sunscreen for the face that didn't burn my eyes, so I always stick to mineral. The green tint is also very appealing to me!
I have been using it for a year now on my third tube love it ....but I dont wear make up and it does to me at least have a slight smell when you first put it on but goes away like in 5 seconds to me it smells like a salted pretzel lol
I love the hero cosmetics force shield sunscreen! I’ve been waiting for someone I trust to review it, and I’m so glad you approve! I have combination skin and I only feel that it dries me out if I leave it on overnight 😳 which I try not to do! But it happens 🤷🏻♀️ I found the MD solar sciences was much more drying
I love the Hero Cosmetics spf! Thank you for informing us about it. It's so light and comfortable on my acne-prone, oily skin. I don't need moisturizer with it and it works great under foundation.
Great news! The 5 ounce Eucerin Advanced Hydration formula does show “Water Resistant (80 minutes)” on my product packaging! It’s located underneath where it says “Developed by Dermatologists” in fine print. Love both formulas but plan to stick with the 5oz to save money.
Does your sweat turn white with it? I bought Banana Boat SPF 50 sunscreen and omg, I started sweating and my face and neck was runny white sweat. So embarrassing.
I received the Undefined R&R Sun Serum yesterday and I love it. I don't use foundation and love the way my skin looks after applying. Thank you, thank you, thank you for informing us about this product.
I have the Eucerin Advanced Hydration and really love it. I have super dry skin and it’s very hydrating. The big size is cost effective too. I recommend it!
I have the most sensitive skin and eyes ever. Ocular rosacea. Everything irritates my skin. This oil control sunscreen is the first chemical sunscreen I have ever been able to tolerate! Thanks for this video!
@@EMILYHERRERA i always try to get 20per off so they must see me on their website etc lol. This stuff to me is totally worth every penny. I use it only on my face and it sorta blurs pores im in love LOL
I love eucerin. the hydrating gel cleanser was perfect for me but it is discontinued =( vanicream makes a good substitute, though. you're looking beautiful, I love your lips! reminding me of Natalie Portman. you do the naturally gorgeous and polished look so well. 😊 But I love watching you for your brains, too. I swear you clear up a misconception for me every time I watch. Thank you for mentioning "blue light from devices." some brands are making it sound like I might as well be frying in a tanning bed if I'm on my lap top or phone without their specific product coating my skin. I wish misinformation was banned from product claims.
I have you to thank for my sunscreen use! Before I discovered you a few years ago, I NEVER used sunscreen...I didn't even own any...and I was a chronic tanning bed user.. You influenced me to stop tanning and now I am actually exited about sunscreen! lol I am very much looking forward to trying the Eucerin age defense!
I’ve been using Eucerin’s Oil Control Factor 50, for the last couple of years. I’m so fair skinned and this has been perfect even at festivals when I may have forgotten to top up as often as I should. It also creates a nice base for foundation/make-up. 👌🏻
OMG I've been using the oily skin eucerin and thought I was crazy thinking it was making my face shiny. Great product, but don't like the shine. Going to try the other version!
If you are oily, EUCERIN _Oil Control_ does a wonderful job✨. If you are *extreamly* oily and every single sunscreen you' ve tried ends up looking greasy, nothing creates an absorbing barrier like HELIOCARE _360° Gel Oil Free_ I guess both brands are not easy to find in USA, though🤔. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
Thank you! Every moisturizer and sunscreen I've ever used leaves my extremely oily skin very greasy (some feel greasy enough to be able to saute vegetables on my forehead!), so I truly appreciate the tips! Will definitely try those both. Right now, I'm using the Epionce sunscreen, which is super water-resistant and leaves a waxy film-like coating on the skin, and a little shine, but NO GREASE. And the Versed gel-creme is the only moisturizer that absorbs into my skin but doesn't leave a coating of grease behind.
Been really enjoying the La Roche-Posay Toleraine Douple Repair w SPF. So elegant, and surprisingly stays on even when sweating as a pedestrian and also on beach days here in PR. I really want to start using zinc oxide/tinted moisturizer but I have dark facial hair/features and they don’t work! And I won’t spend $40 dollars on any sunscreen, I use too much of it lol
The exact video I needed today. I was wanting to give one of the Eucerin sunscreens a go but was not sure which. I got the “New” 60+ face serum sunscreen by neutrogena that does not have the red dye and is fragrance free. It is a great one too! For me that is lightweight and will work best for summer so holding out until then. I was looking for another with a bit more moisturizing for the winter …….so thank you for clarifying the differences in the new Eucerin brand sunscreens!
I saw the Eucerin Advanced Hydration (hyaluronic acid & Humectants) sunscreen at Target and decided to give it a try because I couldn't find my regular one. Had to say I loved it! It left me a bit glowy but not so much to where it looked like it was just oily. I have oily skin so when I used it on my face I expected it to feel heavy, but I honestly didn't feel it at all. 10/10 for me . I also use it on my tattoos and it doesn't fade them or have a major white cast.
@@sakuramessage I purchased the Eucerin Advanced Hydration sunscreen as well, have to say I agree with the commenter. Glowy but not oily or heavy even after reapplication, granted I have sort of in between skin where some days I'm an oil factory and other days I'm dry as the desert. Generally didn't find it burning my eyes unless I was too heavy handed (ie. smeared about a tablespoon on at once in a rush because I was running late). I think it does have a bit of an odd smell though, almost reminds me of tires, goes away pretty fast as long as you're not sitting in a car(small enclosed space) or wearing a mask soon after application which I think goes for all sunscreens (at least for me personally). Also I got it at CVS and it was more like $19 than $13, thought it was on sale but it wasn't, needless to say better to get it at Target or Walmart if your in the States.
Thank you for reviewing new sunscreens. Thanks to you I faithfully apply sunscreen every day. Agree about niacinamide and getting hard to find products without cosmeceuticals that potentially cause irritation. Niacinamide causes burning for me. I find sodium hyaluronate irritating but hyaluronic acid is okay.
I love the chatty reviews, I always learn interesting and useful facts during those! I'm excited to see if the eucerin products wind up on canadian shelves, I'd love to try the age defense one.
Thanks for this video! I found the new Eucerin Advanced Hydration sunscreen at Walgreens yesterday for $17.99, feels very nice on the skin and dries down nicely. Feels moisturizing on the face, will need to see how makeup works with it.
I’ve been using Eucerin Oil Control Dry Touch sunscreen (EU formula) for a year. So far it is the best sunscreen for oily skin in humid climate. The ingredients of the USA version are a bit different from the EU version. There is wax and Vitamin E in the USA version but not in the EU version. Maybe these two ingredients contribute to the shininess. While EU version has tapioca starch which may help reduce the shininess. EU version also has more UV filters. By the way, after this video was published, I noticed the Eucerin sunscreen ran out of stock here in Malaysia’s online stores. Probably many people purchased it after watching the video :)
I hear ‘Eucerin’ anything, and I immediately go to look it up. Thank you so much. We usually skip or have a short Spring here, and jump right into awful heat and humidity. I always have hope, though.
Dr Dray have an awesome day and thanks for putting the work in for us,. That R&R and the Eucerine age defense one ☝️ will be some of my next sunscreen purchases for sure.
I’ve been waiting for you to review these! I’m an Alturist fan, but it’s nice to have options locally. I’ve been waiting for Eucerin to step it up with new spfs, so this is exciting! Good price too. Definitely going to pick these up.
Im not exaggerating I love every single Eucerin product I have ever tried and these sunscreens are now my favorite US sunscreens. I hope they dont ever become discontinued.
@Lexi Vega I don't wear foundation, so I'm not sure how it wears under makeup. I do reapply a few times a day and don't get pilling with it. Also I do wear cream blush and that works nicely under it. Sorry I couldn't help more!
been waiting for you to review the new eucerin sunscreens as soon as I saw that spf 50 in the store! planning a short trip to florida for spring break so these will come in handy!
Target has all the Eucerin sunscreens in stock. I picked up the Advanced Hydration 50 spf water resistant variety. Very moisturizing, invisible, and reasonably priced. The trifecta for a pale gardener! Thank you for your good guidance.
Great vid ! Thank you.....BTW, one of your favs, is now one of my favs, and that would be good 'ole Cerave in the tub! I'm in LOVE. When I'm at work, (none sterile procedures,), I slather on this stuff and thrown on 2 pairs of gloves, and it's fantastic. It has a faint smell that I love, and it's so good on the face ! Oh, and the Aveeno Restorative Balm. LOVE !!! Have a great day 😃
I just tried the Eucerin Age Defense spf 50 and it is absolutely wonderful. My combo skin is singing! It’s so hard to find sunscreens that don’t make me overly shiny without compromising my drier areas.
Hi Dr. Dray! I’ve been using the Eucerin Oil Control sunscreen for almost two years now, and it's the best one I've tried so far, I even hooked my friends on it. However, I'm using the European version, so I'm curious what the differences are with the American one because I haven't experienced the negative aspects you described. On contrary, my experience matches the one you described for the first sunscreen -- I find that the European Oil Control one is very moisturizing, lightweight and fast-absorbing. I've been waiting till you discover that sunscreen since you always mention Eucerin is a great brand, so I'm a bit let down you didn't like it as much😅 If you have a chance to try out and compare the US and EU versions, that'd be interesting to see. P.S. I learned about the Oil Contol spf though a comment someone left under you video. So thank you to that person who recommended it!
I'm so glad you love the Eucerin sunscreens, I live in Scotland so they've been available here for a while. I've been using the oil control one everyday for a year now, I love it so much that I've been nervous to try anything else but I'll give the age defense one a go once I've used up the 3 bottles I have!!
I love the cosmetic elegance of alcohol-based SPFs. I suffer from facial eczema and the alcohol in it has never triggered any flares for me, it doesn't dry my skin out at all. My favourite is Ombrelle's Ultra Light Face SPF (I'm in Canada)
I bought the advanced hydration sunscreen on a whim after my target didn’t have the sunscreen I wanted and I LOVE IT. It’s actually very lightweight, and is not greasy to me. However, it is very shiny on the skin so if you don’t like that, I would suggest trying one of the others. Personally, I don’t mind it because I like my skin looking dewy. I haven’t really had any problems with it burning my eyes so far, but I tend to avoid my eyelids when applying sunscreen. My cheeks are very sensitive and I have had no problems with it. 11/10 would recommend! Love love love it! Thanks Dr. Dray for this video!
Love the videos, hate American sunscreens! Every time I saw a recommendation for a new sunscreen I was suckered into trying it. They were all fails! Too sticky, too dry, too heavy, too greasy, too drying, too dark, white cast, burns my eyes. Then I discovered Japanese sunscreens and they're all wonderful. I wish I had all the money I wasted trying to find an American sunscreen that didn't suck.
@@user-cj1hd4nh4t Yes, My favorite is Skin Aqua. The white bottle with the gold pump is great but not water resistant. The gold squeeze bottle is the water resistant version. They're both SPF50 PA++++ and work great with makeup. I can slather both all over my face including my eyelids without any stinging or watering eyes. I use CeraVe PM moisturizer first because it doesn't have any SPF that would bother my eyes.
I am in love with the new Eucerin sunscreens you highlighted. I had been trying several brands recently and these just did the trick for me. I guess I will be using all other tests as moisturizers for the body. #don’twastespf.
OMG Im soooo excited!! Love love LOOOOOVE eucerin oil control but couldnt find it here, my parents had to send it to me from MX! But omg I looove eucerin sunscreens
Thank you for sharing! I was curious about a couple of these. I’m currently using and loving the Eucerin Oil Control Sun Gel Cream SPF 50+ (not a US sunscreen though).
Love that I can come here to find a trusted review on a sunscreen I want to try. I use the EltaMD one and I love it, but I want something more affordable.
I am using Eucerin products for everyday. It is easy to get here in Europe. But during one of my trip to Asia, I wanted to get a stronger sunblock SPF50 due to the strong tropical sun and saw Eucerin Sun Double Whitening Serum, which I never saw in any shop in Europe selling the whitening range. For pigmentation, we have but not the whitening.
I LOVE the hero sunscreen! Found it a couple months ago at my local Target. I have super dry skin so during these winter months (which are quickly getting behind us at this point), I have to first put on a moisturizer before putting on the sunscreen. I think during the hot and humid summer months of GA, I will not need any moisturizer before the sunscreen. This isn't heavy at all, it spreads really nicely, and it basically disappears on my skin (no whitecast) within minutes of applying. I am very fair-skinned, so I'm not sure how people with darker shades of skin would do with this one. I have sensitive skin and have not had any irritation from any of the ingredients, but it's good to know that some of them may potentially cause irritation.
Can I ask for an update on how you like the sunscreen? It’s 100 degrees right now in Southern California and all my sunscreens are breaking me out and making me SO OILY. Would love to hear how it worked for you!
I find that a lot of oil control silicone- based products really break me out and can't use any of them. I would love a video explaining some good oil control products that will not be sensitizing to oily, acne-prone skin!
