I have really enjoyed the Eucerin Age Defense option, so hydrating and with no whitecast, grease, or stinging for me and I feel like it provides a nice glow. I feel like Eucerin and La Roche Posay are the only worthwhile US drugstore options with quality antioxidants and more beyond the basic filters available However, I'm so frustrated as an American that we don't have access to far better technology, filters, and antioxidants - I don't understand why we can't order directly from the company sites online, choose the European options, and have it shipped internationally regardless of the FDA. Its very disappointing and frustrating that this is the case
Because it’s considered illegal imports and they can’t account for everything under that category nor do they want to be accountable if an American gets something from it and they weren’t blocked from access legally. There’s really only one common filter used in Asia and EU that we don’t have, antioxidants are fruit and plant based, we all get that and same shield is used in the Eucerin antioxidant complex for American releases(for the hydration one I know this especially but always read the bottle ofc)(plus you can add on by eating antioxidant rich foods on a regular basis and wear creams with vitamin c in stable forms). Also the issue isn’t necessarily that we get less protection always, so much as the standards are higher which means the brand you use matters. So if you’re using a brand that is zinc based. There is no less than 15-20% zinc oxide and they’re telling you it’s high grade protection. Consider if the brand has testing standards like Eucerin-they’re unlikely to release you something in the US without comparable standards of protection. They make a point of covering the science on their US site too. So maybe avoid brands here that don’t provide studies, don’t mention antioxidants, and know what uv filters you wanna be looking for and it’s not protecting you from UVA unless it says broad spectrum so there’s a time saver right there Then remember none of these places advise depending on sunscreen. For example in SK women often wear sunscreen patches for their outdoor activities with a hat. Australians are told to wear uv bathing suits in the summer(like a surfers rash guard). Our skin cancer organizations remind everyone to use hats and dark sleeves if not avoiding peak sun during 10-2. And I do recall Chinese students at my school had lovely skin(the girls at least), because they often walked in full sun with uv parasols and after a semester on our hot campus and a not so cute tan that dried out my skin...I started covering myself better and sunscreen was not negotiable anymore😂 just saying you’ll be fine. Just make sure you don’t forget the other aspects of suncare. I’d be more worried for people who don’t adhere to that and don’t cover well and barely reapply at the beach wearing UVB only sunscreen
I had the missing tube version of the spray one! It's also a body sunscreen, definitely moisturizing finish even on my hands. You're not missing out lol.
I used the advance hydration 50 SPF in a tube. I hated it when I first started using it. But I also don't have money to waste. So a month later I tried it again and now I love it. I have dark skin and it leaves no white cast. I'm also 40 and have decent skin texture. Kinda dry, I live in a humid state. This makes me face look well hydrated. I also realized the key to this for me was to allow in small batches like I do my mineral sunscreens. I let it set and go do something else. 15 mins later, it seems to set in my face very well. I don't wear makeup so sometimes I just reapply cause I'm not sure how much I actually put on but want to make sure I'm covered. I don't measure since I'm laying. Re application for me is good, same results but I usually add just a single layer for re application since I work in an office with no windows. It doesn't seem to fully absorb into my skin because sometimes when I scratch my face I can see it on top of my skin which I thought was weird since it a chemical sunscreen. I love the price point and my son whom has sensitive skin can use it but I've only used it on his body. I stick to cotz sunscreen or black girl sunscreen for his face. He is a shade lighter than me. Hope this help someone out.
The US version of the oil control is just not the same as the EU version, the matte effect doesn't last and just feels heavier on my skin. Im not interested in the US version at all after using both. So sad that it's hard to find the EU version available to ship to the US at a reasonable price. :(
This is good to know! I wanted to get the eucerin oil control at target, but it had such bad reviews. Ill have to order the EU version online. How pricy is it to ship to the US?
Thank you for making this! I recently went to Europe and got the Eucerin facial moisturizer with 5% urea. It COMPLETELY transformed my skin. I stocked up on it but had to get rid of it at airport security 😔 Do you recommend any LEGIT online stores for Americans to buy European Eucerin? I don’t trust Amazon
That product was my introduction to urea in skincare. Really good stuff though on the pricey side compared to other urea creams. Urea is so underestimated
My dry sensitive skin LOVES urea, I have a Eucerin scalp moisturizer that has it. Ordered it online from LookFantastic. Don't know if this is a EU specific product though.
The US version of Eucerin oil control is hot flaming garbage. I've never put on a sunscreen that's made my face a sticky glob of shit so fast lmaooo. It's the traditional flagship type of sunscreen when I hear people say they don't like sunscreen for the sticky yucky feeling. I don't blame Eucerin though, the US sunscreen ingredients are very limited.
I tried your holy grail and I love it!!! Found it at Care to Beauty. Is there another option for buying it? I’m in the US. Thank you so much for helping me finally find my holy grail!
Ugh I want to like the age defense but it didn’t work for my face. If you have oily skin you might be able to use it as your moisturizer during fall/winter. I have dry skin so my skin tolerates it well. Although this product stings my eyes so bad (the worst I’ve ever experienced with any SPF) at the end of the day so I just use it from the neck down and back of neck/ears when I use a tinted SPF on the face 😢
I have the US oil control version on as I type this and I hate it so much. It's so greasy in comparison to the EU version. I'm using it up and never purchasing it again.
I got the TUBE of the eucerin spf50 hydrating age defence. It's great (but my skin is dry.) It is DEWY, and the white cat is minimal bc it's mostly chemical filters.
I bought the tinted version of the oil control sunscreen while in Portugal. it seemed to work well when I was there (maybe because of the heat & humidity) but i'm using it at home now (cool & dry Canadian spring) and its terrible! it's pilling up so badly, the gross pilled bits get caught in my eyebrows, and it cakes & cracks into my pores! I can't figure out what it's reacting with and it basically does the same on bare skin :( I dunno if it's something with gel-creams, the new La Roche Posay gel cream does the same thing... How are you using it if it's your holy grail? I want to make it work so badly
Well, Ramon uses the untainted version-I just got the normal Euro version in the mail yesterday and girl, it’s great. Truly does stay Mayte and makes my skin look so nice 😅 def won’t be trying this tinted version based on what you’re saying
Since the reformulation the oil conteol one has not been available in my country but I picked up their DermoPure fluid spf 30 to try out, hope it's good 🤞🏼
I like the Eucerin sunscreens in general. The only problem I have is that they sting my eyes very bad even when I'm avoiding the eye area.. (european version)
Love and have repurchased the Advanced Hydration SPF 50, use it on the arms and neck during the day, love the way it makes my skins look and feel - very hydrated and glowy. Also I have the sensitive mineral for my face but I don't like it as much, not because of how it feels but i think ALL mineral has that metal smell from zinc oxide? So its not my fav.
Holaaaa!!!
Hello! I’ve seen the eucerin age defense sunscreen which has hyaluronic acid and 5 antioxidants, would that be enough to replace the vitamin C serum in my morning routine?
Eucerin anti-shine mattifying finish sunscreen spf 50 lightweight lotion for face.....: where to start... too thick to spread easily, leave the skin shiny AND tacky. Not mattifyng at all. Infos on the bottle are totally false. I have dry to normal skin. It's a HUGE disapointment and too expensive for a face sunscream. Dont waste your money. You can see the shinning on his face and how he has to work hard to spread this stuff.
I do love me the age defense one except i cannot use it on my eyes because it stings like crazy. Just bought the sensitive mineral one to avoid the sting
