Hi Jim I am a big tallow soap fan and was devastated when it was announced Tabac was stopping the tallow version . Very interested in your comparison shave it appears that there's little between the two. Thank you so much for your time and comments.
That's the first Tabac comparison I've seen. When I heard Tabac had changed to vegan, I bought an extra tallow version. Glad to know you found little difference between the two. Those hard pucks really last a long time. And the lather is superb.
Great comparison with the two soaps jim good to see that there is no real difference between the tallow and the vegetable base as i just got back in to de shaving and was in the market for some tabac original formula then heard from your good self that they were changing it i almost cried tears the size of october cabbages but thanks to this video i am going to buy some thanks for the info and cracking content of your videos 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cracking video Jim and thanks for the comparison I’m not bothered if it is tallow or glycine based as long as it does what it says on the tin the vegetal version does look denser and no need to worry as you stated now I will buy another puck to replace the one I have because I don’t want use that for sentimental reasons as my mother bought it for me last Christmas take care and have great weekend 😀👍
Great comparison Jim, looks like the new base has very similar performance to the old base, which is wonderful news. Personally I'm only concerned with soap performance and aroma, I don't worry about whether it has a Veg or a Tallow base. Big fan of the Treet Platinums, been using them for years. The AL Lupo is my favourite RazoRock razor so far, mild but still efficient. Take care and Stay safe mate.
Thank you Uncle. You really couldn't tell the two apart if you were given two brand new unwrapped pucks. I agree with what you say about the Treet and Lupo.
Great shave, Brother!! Great comparison!! I’ve been trying to stock up on the old version. Both of my orders seems to be missing. That hardly ever happens… Have a great weekend! And Stay Safe!! 🤙
As a brand your doing something right if the old and the new feel basically the same. Thruth be told, my tub of tabac is from this year may, not sure if my one is veg or tallow. I like it alot, the scent, the ease of making a lather, the post feel all is great!
Great comparison shave mate... I was a bit iffy about the Tabac going Vegan but you seemed quite happy with it, so no worries there. I felt the same way when Fine changed there formula. I still prefer the old formula with Fine purely on value for money, I guess it's the same with Tabac. Thanks for doing this shave Jim it will put peoples concerns to rest. Have a great weekend mate and stay safe;-)
Nice shave Jim🤙and a fab comparison to put aside our fears about the new formula . I actually managed to get a old version recently so I'm good for a while. Be well mate 🙏
Thanks for the comparison Jim! Just goes to show if you get the formula right, don't need to be tallow based. I see that first have with GoodFellas Smile soaps!
I would buy some whilst it’s still available I ordered some and was duped it it said Original which doesn’t mean the veg base and I tried to cancel it but was ignored. Keep well and keep safe.
Love tabac 👍 used a Italian products today Via barbaria shaving cream ( croap) via barbaria aftershave serum, via barbaria aftershave serum cream. Rockwell 6 s plate 4 Gillette nacet blade , yaqi Naples sythentic brush. Good shave and the via barbaria shaving cream croap is not bad value on eBay £14 👌 balm serums really impressed with
The old version looked more creamy to me , once you first appled it but you looked happy with the newer stuff and that all that matters. I'm not to botherd by old or new as my current tabac is mixed with Williams mug soap. 👍👍😉
The tallow did have a few more peaks yes. But the glycerin base will take more water for sure. So with more water I'm confident that I'll get a meringue coating
@Jim Will Shave. But that doesn't stop 2012 founded small husband/wife company an American made name Stirling soap. They just started bathe soap and they used Tallow based first ingredient and its from animal fat from beef. So Tabac stop using tallow, but stirling soap company still carry on excellence!
@@JimWillShave I will soon buy Stirling soap they just expanded into business. Going to extend more spaces as per they told after shift new places about 4 years now
a question the white box in the shower connected to the tube for the manual shower ,is that box giving warm water or making more pressure or what , greetings from mexico
A great comparison shave Jim! I have some great vegan soaps.. but most of my collection is tallow based, and I tend to lean that way, will be interesting to see if this move for Tabac is a good one or not. Safe travels this weekend my brother!
@@JimWillShave cheers Jim! Yeah, it’s a classic brand, and I’m sure they will do quite well, which reminds me I have to get some Tabac at some point lol.
@Jim Will Shave. I've just realized traditional use tallow back in old days either beef or pig animal fat. But, pig ofc they can't but beef tallow can and now back to nature
@@JimWillShave Nice Tabac known for after shave lotion since 20th century 1960s+. I didn't know they also super famous for animal fat tallow shaving soap as well. Good, it's nice they change vegan since 2021. They should if Prosario face shaving cream/soap has been around in Italy 1800++ and it's was natural ingredients. Also Cremo shaving cream/soap for 1970+ for multi-purpose use also natural ingredients and super top as well
A greek wet shaver said the the quality of the new vegan formula is a bog downgrade. He said the new one reminded him of the razorock shaving soaps and we can all agree that their quality is nothing special and they only exist because they are cheap. I have never tried Tabac myself and probably never will so it is no problem for me but its a pity cuz it has many many fans around the world and its been around for ages being used by our fathers generation until today. I hope at least that if the new formula proves to be not as good as the original one they will fix it. PS. Ive never tried Tbac due to the smell which i think i will not like
Maybe the new soap base wasn't suitable for him. Was it Costas Shaves? I usually favour tallow myself. But I can honestly say that I found no difference.
@@JimWillShave No it was not Kostas. It's a channel called "Dimitris". The good thing is the new formula suits you...hopefully it will be the same for most allthough Greek forums seem to hate the new product but I don't know howany actually tried it
I have soaps that cost a fair bit more than Razorock that didn't perform as well. Stirling soaps, for example, are nowhere near as slick. YMMV. As for Tabac - as soon as I heard they were switching bases I tracked down a tallow-based jar. So it will be a while before I have to worry about the performance of the new base.
@@SotosAlbanis Vegetable based soaps always work best with synthetic brushes. I have used both versions of Tabac and like Jim I use a synthetic and get great results with the veggie one!
