I haven't played since reach, jumped into a game of reach and 3 today, got my ass kicked....and now I'm here. This game is definitely a "have to learn" game, rather than a "pick up and play". I'm fine with that. Can't wait to get good and kick ass in Infinite!!

yah, positioning and initiation are probably the biggest things I’ve learned in halo in general. controling what your interaction is rather than what to do while your in it massively increases your ability. hell, just learning how to use the grenade as area denial and for clearing as well as what enemies tebd to do when they see a grenade, instead of using it as a purely offensive option will massively increase your effectiveness. grenades being a tool of initiation and defense rather than something to use between shots. hell, theowing a grenade to force someone to go somewhere else to line up a shot is massive. cover and grenade manipulation can get you through a lot.

I’ve never played Halo online. However I think it’s safe to assume that, simular to Dark Souls, that there is a big learning curve for beginners. And if you don’t adapt to it you will suffer.... But if you Git Gud you will have fun.

Pretty much every halo multiplayer match I join, (weather it be halo 1,2,3,4 or reach,) I get my butt kicked every time when trying to get a good score,but with this video and it’s good tips, it will definitely help me.

And Goddamnit, keep it M rated. People say Halo is too soft to be, but when it went to Teen, you can definitely notice a difference. I miss those blood splatters.

The biggest thing to get down as a new player is getting your precision weapon down. Each halo has a precision weapon meta. These weapons are what your gonna be using 80% of the time. Halo 2 and 3 it is the br halo 1 or ce is the pistol halo reach 4 and 5 it’s the dmr. You need to get this weapon down for whatever halo you want to learn first. I’d recommend looking up a guide on how they work especially with halo 3s br. Id recommend playing either halo 3 2 or reach since these are most players favorite in the mcc. If you guys have any questions just reply to this comment and I’ll try to respond as fast as I can.

The game mode that's helped me get better at Halo with KB+M is SWAT It feels unreal to me having this much precision in a Halo game and it's night and day compared to controller

It used to be hella funny when people would be in multiplayer fighting like they marines in campaign.

I used to play a lot back in the reach days, and I was pretty good back then. But my biggest issue is lag. Like not on my end that I can tell. Literally looks to me like some people glitching. The sad thing is it’s not everyone so I suspect cheating. Am I the only one who thinks this is happening?

After playing infinite and getting good at that mcc felt like a whole different entity, I found myself asking the people in game chat on halo 3 what the reload button was

I used to dominate halo 2 and halo 3 back in the old days now I cant even get passed rank 8 because its so different now , just keep playing and playing don't give up

The quickest way to improve if you're a mouse/keyboard player is to switch to a controller. Like, if you have a good grasp on the game and can do decent with mouse/keyboard, switching to controller will immediately put you in top 3 of the majority of social games. Seriously, controller is OP. I'm not really a console gamer so I don't use controllers much, but when I eventually got sick of getting curbstomped in MCC I swapped to my PS4 controller and oh my gosh it was like I was playing on easy mode. It's ridiculous how overtuned bullet magnetism and aim assist are for controllers.

In original halo 3, i was trash lol. Lone wolves was the first 50 I pushed for and let me tell you. Lone wolves improved my game immensely. Made the other 50s I got seem trivial. (Except mlg. Came close but never quite got it)

Am I high or just using the battle rifle wrong cause it usually takes like 2 mag dumps to get one kill and the pistol seems way stronger. Just seems weird

As an Onyx player, I highly recommend training your Battle Rifle in bot matches. The BR is the best weapon in the game and is extremely useful as you start with the BR in Ranked mode. Use academy mode and set the bots to Spartan difficulty. Then turn on God mode so you can’t die. Practice killing each bot in 4 BR shots for the “perfect” medal. Make sure to practice your strafe and make it unpredictable.

Your aim is really good. Are you using a mouse or a game controller.

Me personally I think bloom for halo reach was a good addition. I think the reason why you don’t like it is because you just don’t want to learn it. I simply prefer the DMR from halo reach than in halo four and five because in those game you just spam it and there’s no strategy or thought. I’m not saying it was a perfect feature I don’t hate it at all.

Thank you so much for this video, I've been a Halo fan since Halo 2 came out and now with Infinite out I'm trying to convince my friends to play the franchise with me, however, they find it to be difficult and claim it to be "impossible to get used to the mechaincs without having pure nostalgia for the Entire Franchise" (They're used to Overwatch and Call of Duty). Honestly another tip on how to get good in Halo if you're scared of PVP is to literally just play all the games on legendary which honestly I know doesn't sound like much. Although You'd be surprised how much that boosts your skill. Especially after you play Halo 2. Especially after gravemind. God help you.

I like halo 4 multiplayer alot but these days it seems like I can't get any matches anymore, I'd only get matches when I set it on 'any 4 vs 4'

These are great tips, and will definitely help, but all the tips in the world won't save you from some very frustrating moments. - Hit reg often feels off (Halo 3 is horrendous, especially sniping, even when leading shots) - Aiming with Mouse and Keyboard is very inconsistent and has a noticeable disadvantage vs controller players (You will often lose to controllers as their shots are compensated with aim assist but yours barely miss... somehow) - Spikes of latency can completely ruin a gunfight Sadly, games built from the ground up for controller and aim assist will always be clunky when adapted for Mouse and Keyboard. There are a whole host of other inconsistencies unique to each games multiplayer that will frustrate you the more you play, but they're too numerous to mention. I love that they've brought the game to PC and done all this work, but my mates and I are getting frustrated more often than not now, and it's getting harder to enjoy playing.

Is it just me. Or do enemies do more damage in multiplayer. Because it seems like every enemy player seems to do way more damage then me and I do almost no damage

Can someone help me understand what's going on I just re got the game after having it at launch and got into a match of slayer in 2a on bloodline I grabbed a br and hit a guy with a whole mag didn't crack his shield died respawn he then uses that same br to 2 burst me. Next match on zenith a guy hides in the shield has a shotgun and magnum I get to the little pile of boxes he steps out and one shot kills me with his ass still in the shield I respawn and get insta killed by a frag I respawn again toss both frags into the building top floor cover where a guy with a sniper is sitting no kill jump my ass up and not even shield cracked, guy never moved. So am I missing something is there a damage drop off based on rank because my plates copper and everyone I got matched with was gold to onyx or is there something else, before I get the "just aim better" I've been playing halo since it first released in 2001 and had just gotten back into MCC after hearing that all the broken shit was finally fixed. I don't want to make hackusations because I don't know so if anyone can answer and explain why I take so much more damage than my opponents do tyvm.
