Hi Brian would you be willing to answer a quick two part question? Can leveraged ETFs have splits? Is there a way to check the history of stocks to see all the dates and split information? On things like Robinhood I'm afraid you see "all time highs" and think maybe it will go back BUT it isn't giving those important details to factor in. Thank you in advance from everybody this question possibly helps. *I believe YINN would make a good example, I can't make sense of the max chart.

I can't believe putting in 85k and then 2k a month for 12 years, (373,000 total?) Could have turned into over a 1million just investing in basic ass VOO, my god. I'm gonna be sick.
@daloriscutone6380
@daloriscutone6380 6 дней назад
My portfolio cracked $50 million this week I always tell people it is unbelievable. Like really, I don't believe it. Compound growth is a crazy thing. It helps that 'my mix' has outperformed VOO the market by 1.57% over the decade too. 1.57% doesn't sound like a lot, but it is a difference of nearly $200,000. I have outperformed VT (Boglehead dream) by about $545,000. Little wins add up over the years.

VGT outperformed SCHD and VOO over 5 and 10 years. Despite having most of my $500k retirement in VGT, I try to beat my Roth with my taxable account but still underperform the S&P 500.
@Nernst96
@Nernst96 8 дней назад
I'm taking a hybrid approach with VGT, SCHD, and VOO as my foundation over a 20-year horizon. I still enjoy life, travel, and buy what I love. It's the best combo, plus I enjoy the small victories of dividends, dividend growth, and share price appreciation.

ETFs are great, but don't rely solely on it for retirement. I retired at 62 with a $1.5M portfolio, starting with $35K, thanks to an adv1sor and dividends. Invest wisely, build your nest egg, and don't sell the chicken that lays the egg!

Its worse here, our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.
@klunnikov
@klunnikov 20 дней назад
People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyperinflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.
@ragingchimera8021
@ragingchimera8021 18 дней назад
The economy is splitting. There is now the economy of people that have been able to keep up with inflation and maintain their lifestyle, and there are the rest of the people who will live in tents and be forgotten, falling out of the tracked economy all together. The businesses and companies associated with the former will continue to grow, the businesses associated with the latter will suffer.

People often underestimate financial advisors' importance. Over 50 years of data reveal that those who work with advisors typically earn more than those who go it alone. fyi FNGU, which ive made $$$ on, is actually a note, so they don't actually hold any equities and notes are subject to credit risk (BMO is holder), and of course, market risk, unlike an ETF, which actually holds the equities.

Expense ratios are too much of a concern as long as the total returns (after expenses) are better than the S&P 500 index. I do agree it is harder to overcome higher expenses but looking at the leveraged funds, it does so in spades. I've had CURE for several years as my first foray into leveraged funds and am fairly happy. If I were more active by putting stop losses and buying back in, I'm sure my returns would've been better but hard to time the market; so, time in the market is proving to be pretty good.

Hi Brian, I respect your technology recommendations and your tech analysis. I like having the leveraged funds in my back pocket that you mentioned in this video. But J H Cris. Don't put people in leveraged funds at a what is likely a local maxima in the stock market. The five year prediction along with the possible returns from a leveraged fund will make some people so greedy that they'll lose half of their money. I just sold my SMH, which is likely a mistake given the long term trend. But there is no way I'd buy leverage to the upside right now. I'll definitely buy SMH if it corrects back to 230. I'll heavily overweight it if it corrects back to 190 or so ( $190 is the 200 day MA.) I'll back up the truck if it hits $135 (the 200 week MA), because I do believe in the long term trend. Being in the stock market for the long term is OK. Being leveraged in the stock market for the long term is not OK.

With a leveraged fund, say I buy $1000 worth and I don't add to it, can I lose more than the $1000 if the fund went to zero? I want to purchase and hold and like you said sell quickly in a downturn but am unclear as to how much I can lose?

So, USD is good for short term right?
@BusinessWithBrian
@BusinessWithBrian 29 дней назад
According to its prospectus, they state it is best for short-term management. As all leveraged funds state. But as I mentioned, at the slightest wind of a downturn, I sell my leveraged fund. They are great in the good years, and horrific in the bad years.

What is the length for short term management like is 1-3 years considered a short term? I’m actually quite new to this industry (I’m 21). I’m planning to do DCA (5-10 years) for most of my portfolio and finding 1-2 good ETF or stocks for short term to speed up my growth.

I'm glad to have stumbled on this video as it is an eye opener and I'm curious to know best how people split their pay, how much of it goes into savings, spendings or investments, I earn around $250K per year but nothing to show for it yet.
