It’s a good machine

Man dude, you got a great deal on that extractor! With that HEAT function, that really helps to super clean whatever fabrics you are cleaning. I don't have heat on my extractor but I usually will heat up the water on the stove to just before the boiling point and dump that into my machine and it works really well. But the heat function alone is a great addition to an extractor. You made a great point about using plain water for the extraction part and using your cleaning chemicals manually and then scrubbing. I do the exact same thing based on tutorials i've watched on extracting the correct way. Spray your fabrics with your chemicals first, agitate the fabrics/product with a brush or drill brush. Then extract everything using plain hot water which extracts out the spent chemical(s). This normally cleans the fabrics much better and leaves the fabrics in their natural state after they dry. The only other thing I do after extracting is lightly mist them with P&S "Finisher" which is a peroxide based product that effectively neutralizes any leftover chemicals that the extractor clean water may not have pulled out. It's an extra step and may not be necessary, but I do it anyway and I've had great results. It just gives me peace of mind that i've neutralized any residual cleaner that may have been left behind. It's a cheap product too so it's worth it. You can get a gallon of it for about $22. I do add the extractor solution to the hot water on really dirty interiors such as my SUV rear section where I carry my Doberman. She loves riding in the car and I cover everything in blankets but in that area, I will add the solution to the extractor for extra cleaning power and follow up with the P&S Finisher. P&S makes some really good carpet/upholstery cleaning products and they a priced really great. Gallons for $22 each! You can't beat that and man do they work good, especially as a 3 part system. They have 3 different products (Pre-Treat, Carpet Bomber, and Finisher). Thanks also for the "sleeve" idea. I'll be contacting Mytee and buying one of those sleeves (hopefully they sell it as an accessory) and use it on my own extractor as my hose assembly is very similar to that and it should work perfectly on my machine. I've heard nothing but great things about all the Mytee machines. The machine and the fittings look very robust and super well made. That machine should last you a lifetime. Maybe someday i'll be lucky enough to have one! Enjoy using it. Oh, by the way, not sure if your machine has the "CREVICE" tool, but you should buy that attachment. It is WAY COOL and is very effective at getting into the tightest places that 99% of extractors cannot get into because the head just won't fit. It's $99 but very well made and it's worth every penny. I think it would make a great addition to your machine and you'll wonder how the heck you did without it the first time you can clean and extract between the seat and the center console!! It's also very useful in other areas but it's worth it's weight in gold for in between the seats! I'm not sure why they don't include it with all the higher end Mytee machines. Check it out. Here's the link. www.amazon.com/Mytee-8700-Stainless-Steel-Crevice/dp/B07K8S6YXP/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=Mytee+extractor+sleeve&qid=1593231679&sr=8-9

Hey, I love the extractor. And thanks for the recommendations on the P&S products. I was just looking at them. Yes, a final neutralizer would be great as well. I also have been looking at the crevice tool and will be picking that up soon enough. Thanks again. Let me ask you, have u ever heard of Flex powder for the extractor machines. I’ve also been recommended these different powders by carpet cleaning companies.
@joevanseeters2873
@joevanseeters2873 4 года назад
@@DetailingBreakdown I have heard good things about the FLEX powder but I have not yet tried it. It supposedly works much better than the stuff you can get either at Target or Walmart or even the specialty extractor specific solutions. In addition to the P&S products, I currently have the Xtreme Solutions Carpet Extractor Solution Gallon size. It's called GENESIS GOLD. It's got a nice scent and works really well just like all their products. Good value for the money too. The FLEX powder is supposedly more of a commercial grade product for professionals so no doubt it will probably work very well. I thought you'd like that crevice tool. Hey, why not. If you've got the Ferrari of extractors (the Mytee) why not add the upgrade crevice tool! It just makes sense because the one area that's very difficult to get with an extractor is down in between the area of the door sill and the seat (down in the narrow crack there) and in between the seat and the center console. Most detailers have to remove the seats in order to get to those areas which is not something I would want to do unless absolutely necessary and the interior was trashed or something, but I don't let my interiors get that bad anyway. Taking seats out isn't practical in my opinion. I do like to do as thorough of a job as possible though, and that's where that crevice tool for the extractor would come in. It's the perfect add on for doing those areas with ease and getting them super clean. Those areas are difficult to deep clean without that crevice tool attachment for the extractor. It's a bit pricey, but you saved quite a bit on the extractor itself so go ahead and splurge and get it. You'll be happy you did i'm sure. I'm definitely going to get one for my extractor. While I don't have the Mytee, i'm pretty sure it will work because I have a very similar set up with the quick connections and my head looks almost the same.

Really awesome video, man. I really learned alot. I was cleaning up the old junk around the shed at my job place and found this unit just sitting collecting dust. They said they hadn't used it in 4-5 years. They said they couldn't make it work, but I think they just didn't know what they were doing. Anyways, I know I'm telling a whole story, but I can't wait to get out there to clean it up and get it working on our trucks and floor mats. I do want to know how to clean them. With the unit at the job, it's been in disuse for so long that crystals of somesort is growing in the fill tank and it looks gross in the dirty tank. I'm hoping the unit can withstand a pressure washer to flush it out. Maybe I can use some solvents?

Buy products in gallons and that can do multiple jobs like Americandetailergarage.com. Don’t discount your jobs, and learn to say “NO” when people are trying to discount your prices. Work hard and when ur ready to pull your hair out then work harder. Good luck!
