Today's video is my weekly Trader Joe's taste test of all the new items in March 2024. We are tasting 2 new items & 2 secret item including the winter frost pineberries, dulce de leche ice cream, brown butter salted caramel biscotti and fruity jellies. Follow along each week as I grab all the new seasonal items at Trader Joe’s and do a taste test and review. Watch to find out if we found some new favorite must haves for 2024. Biscotti are meant to be dipped to soften.

Biscotti translates to twice baked in italian. You bake the dough in a form of a log, you remove it from the oven and let it sit a few minutes then you take a serrated knife and make long slices. Then you place the slices flat side down on a cookie sheet and back in the oven it goes for the second bake. That's why they are a crunchy cookie. The second baked dries them out. They are meant to be dunked in coffee or tea, not to be eaten on their own.

And the biscotti is intended for dipping. Tell Brent to dip it in his tea. Having said that, putting some ice cream on the biscotti sounds great too, although all too sweet. Am getting a sugar rush just from writing this comment 😊

Dolce de leche means sweet milk in Spanish.

I watched your review on the Cheery lemon animal cookies and don’t really like cherry flavored things but I love lemon flavored things so I bought them anyway. I loved them so much and was like, “Hooray! These don’t taste like cherry at all” 😂 It was a nice surprise

Based on your pineberry taste test experience, either you have a bad batch or they are not ripe enough yet...yes, they are supposed to mostly taste like a strawberry, except sweeter, not less sweet. And the "pine" refers to them having a hint of a taste of pineapple. Some pineberries even have a hint of pear and apricot taste to them, but your batch sounded rather eh. As for ice cream, it is interesting how people like eating it in different ways. For me, licking it is the way to go! I do not want a cup or spoon, just the ice cream!

I had some from Fresh Market, and they were awful. Sour and very bland.

@juanita-where was this "fresh market" as pineberries origin is in Chile, so they are delicious in South America. "Sour and bland" sounds like your market was in the USA, si?

I haven't tried the Pineberries as my Trader Joe's hasn't had them the last two times I looked. Couldn't get them last year as well. They are suppose to taste like Pineapple. Glad you got to try them.
