Ford Transit & Tourneo Custom in Plug-In Hybrid version (PHEV) doing 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration and reaching its top speed of 125 km/h (77 mph). Attempts with low electric range and with battery closer to being fully charged. I believe that after the range on battery drops below certain level, the car does not use its full potential and sticks to around 82 kW of power use instead of 92,9 kW.
The last attempt was done downhill, so don't treat it as a real life acceleration as it was not - gravity's help was clear. However, the battery was charged to higher levels at that point and we could see the car using more of its power. This was the purpose of adding it to this video now.

80-100 km/h was not the quickest. However, for city driving the powertrain felt pretty agile. I assume that these cars will be driven mostly in the cities as that's where their advantages really show.

@@VToldsMotoShow The ecoboost 3.5 hauls ass, drove a transit for work with one and it would get up to 70 only using half the interstate on ramp. Not too bad considering it was full of tools with ladders on top.

Rhy Dynamic mine also gets great Diesel milage, I Drive 1 litre to 17-18 kilometers, and i fill it up once in the 2 weeks, when i have about a quarter left, and I have driven like 700 - 750 km

ford agriculture very slowly I imagine, a diesel powered has an unladen mass approximately 2500kg so god knows what this weighs

Well, obviously it will be slower - just like any other car. How much? I guess that would have to be tested, however it's pretty punchy at lower speeds thanks to 355 Nm available anywhere and anytime you want..

18 seconds?! I can drink a beer faster than that! Guess in the future we won't be getting anywhere fast. A 1970s Mercedes 300d did the 0-60 in 17.5 seconds and that only has 80hp XD It'll last a lot longer too...

Actually, you may be right regarding not getting anywhere fast. I mean driving in the cities. This van is designed mostly for city use. I'm the first one to praise great acceleration but I'm not sure if it's that important when carrying load. Definitely a 1970s MB 300d won't take your fridge inside ;)

I hate it’s acceleration but this is designed for city use. Also it’s in electric mode, with the engine revving up it should be a bit quicker.

It’s not even run in yet only 970km on the clock. It will get faster after a set mileage. Anyway are vans about speed (especially one with a hybrid engine)? No, so long as they are reliable and efficient then that is a good van, not one that is the quickest. Ford know what they are doing.

Remember that the petrol engine must be able to generate enough electricity to maintain that speed with load etc.

That seems possible. I till recently had to drive a 120 hp Ford Mondeo as my daily job car and boy what a nightmare that thing was to drive. 1.5 liter diesel with over 12 seconds to do 0-100 km/h. A Fiat Ducato was smoking it off the line... Disaster. Ford has got a serious issue with performance in their cars.

As long as it can enter the city :). This hybrid can be driven on electricity only or on petrol or on both. Driver's choice most of the time. That's how I understand it.

Yeah, at the moment this is the first vehicle. Just as the Custom itself is the first van ever to receive 5-star rating in crash tests. That was the world's first too, I believe.

Oh, a 3.5 EcoBoost would be a hell of a lot of fun. But this would never ever happen in Europe. Not with the fuel prices. Especially now with them going like 20% up in a few weeks. 1,5 USD for 1 liter of fuel is quite serious - that's 5,7 US dollars for 1 gallon of the cheapest fuel.

Chicken Chaser 125cc Gdyby chcieć rzeczywiście ładować sobie pod domem, to jednak powinno robić różnicę w kosztach jazdy. We also have a transit phev, and the speed is maximized at 125 km/h. We brought the van to a Ford dealer, they say they can't remove this limitation. Is this indeed still is accurate?

Yes, the 1.0 only provides electricity and nothing else. There's no physical connection of it to the wheels.

My very first car was a hand-me-down Toyota Previa All-Trac without the supercharger. I timed it once....14.5 seconds to 60 mph (100 kph). I didn't ever think there would be a car almost thirty years newer that was this much slower.

I feel it's time to share the story of a car that I was driving years ago. It was a Nissan Patrol with a 3,0 l engine and 158 HP. The car's weight was exceeding 2400 kg and it would do 0-100 kph in 15,4 s according to data. And yes, it was very slow. But slow and steady from the beginning. At least the Mondeo that I drive today is quicker than these two, ha!

This van is designed for the city, if you want a Transit for motorway driving, get a 2.0 EcoBlue 130 (130hp, turbo-diesel) or the EcoBlue 170 (170hp, turbo-diesel) they are both faster, a lot faster

In addition, in the diagrams and animations, you can see that the Transit Hybrid's 13.6 kW Lithium battery is placed on the left side inside the floor. It seems that the symmetrical part on the right is vacant. Is it really vacant? To increase the autonomy in electric mode, would it be enough to add a battery? Or would it require some intervention in the software? If this operation is possible without reprogramming the software, could any battery be added? I'm thinking of adding the battery of another model that would have more amperes (why not the biggest battery on the market that would be the one of a Tesla). What do you think about it?

I'm now not sure about it but I think that on the other side there is something, perhaps a fuel tank. I understand your thinking but I think it's not only about the "size" or capacity of the battery itself and the thing is about other components as well to match the size of it. So I believe it will not be possible to simply add another battery. Definitely not through Ford. However, maybe a kind of a "power bank" will be developedd for these electric/hybrid vehicles soon. That could be a solution perhaps. But it's just my imagination.

Maybe its speedlimited for safety or endurance reasons? Our diesel wagon does 0-100kph in 20 ish(?)but marches to an 150 kph indicated although the transit is probably more unaerodynamic than our shoebox and far heavier than the 1550kg our wagon weighs if not double the weight.

Haven't tried 800 kg in the back since it was a Tourneo (it's heavier with all the seats etc.) but I believe that Transits that were available to test were having some load in the back. I just don't know what its weight was. But here torque is what matters and 355 Nm at any point should be enough to move it I believe. Still, it won't be a sports car as we see in the vid.

There is regenerative braking in general. There is another mode to make it stronger though but it was not engaged during these rides. It doesn't influence car's performance at all. It works only when you take your foot off the accelerator.
