footage!! i like the motor mount, i like how its fully supported. I've killed so many motors on rigs were its only held on one end. Maybe a hybrid system could work? conventional style mount with the traxxas style all in one. Saves gears and motors! maybe
Avery Looper I'd like to test some M2C stuff for my fireteam just wondering if I should use basherqueen towers and tower to tower brace than m2c parts just don't what I need to make it a tank. Beefcake!!!
Dude... so sick....Strait savage every time. By far the hardest bash ive seen per usual! You got some killer handles my guy. Never a disappointment and without a doubt $f%=A lot of fun to watch, bro! You deserve way more subs! Thanks for pumping out killer content, i always get atoked when i see your clips in my feed. I tell all my friends and fellow hobbie lovers about your videos every chance i get and the ones who follow through and check you out become instant subscribes and thank me for tellin them about you. Keep it up Dude! You the man!!
That was a killer run with that thing man I’m really enjoying mine I was going to gear mine up but after feeling the motor without that little black piece that seems to keep the motor straight I was hesitant but that was definitely a great run buddy.
That was definitely a smackdown test on the sledge Bro. Seems like she can take some poundings for the most part. I'm diggin the quick release body mounting system. Bummer on the tires and gears. Typical TraxxASS quality for you lol 🤣. I'm glad M2C is committed to beef this sucker up. Wicked first bash with the sledge Ramp Blast Bro.
I was so hoping you would pick this up. Besides acouple small things it seemed to hold up pretty good. You bashed it hard and showed what it can do. Once again thank you for such a good video!
And finally, a true proper bash for this new thing. Definitely took a beating but not as tough as a Kraton out the box obviously. Cool features but arrma still holds the crown for overall bashing imo. Your ability to drive these cars full throttle like you do, is as always, very impressive. Good stuff as always Eric!!
Just ran mine for the first time today! I over did it on my XMAXX and put to many upgrades making it to heavy causing so many breakages. It sitting in pieces in a box now. I’m going to try and keep this one a bit more stock as t becomes a pain having to fix one every time out. Did the same w the Mojave! Kept the Maxx stock and it rarely breaks. Not to say upgrading is wrong for everyone by any means but it’s finding the balance so it can be fun w out breakages all the time! Love what you do jj
The truck takes some beatings, I like it and it appears strong. Is this finally the one that competes with Arrma tough? In my opinion, unfortunately Traxxas budget gives more to marketing than engineering but hey....., I wish the best for all top level RC brands and no matter what, we all get better with competition. The greatest fun is swapping parts across the spectrum and designing our own frankenbeast with whatever we have on hand. Fun is fun... especially when it's fast and strong and wild. Thanks for another excellent show, brother. Hope to be back soon.
Your stock out the box Arrma v4 I believe it was, took way more abuse and lived! I’ll be sticking with Arrma and Tekno for bashing. Thanks for another great vid brother 👍
I’ve been a traxxas guy since I started in the hobby way back in 1997 when I bought my Nitro Sport. I Was always a nitro guy as back then, electric couldn’t compete with nitro. Now, it’s the opposite. What I’ve always loved about traxxas is how durable and reliable they are. And every hobby shop I ever went to had traxxas, and any replacement parts you needed if something did break. I’m a basher, but never anything like what you put this sledge through 😂 I recently fell back in love with the hobby after about a 6 year hiatus as I fell out of love with the nitro cars. Too messy, and require too much maintenance especially when stored since engines gum up and seize over time even when oiled and stored properly. Now I’m all about the electric cars. Recently I bought the traxxas XRT and man is that thing a beast! But, you need a LOT of room to bash that thing. I’ve been looking for something a little smaller, like the rustler or Hoss. But, after watching your video, I’m definitely going the route of the sledge. Great video. And what awesome jumps. Subscribed!
I can tell the excitement you were having while bashing this animal. Awesome experience watching this video. Makes me feel like I’m there along for the experience!
Sure wish there were good hearted people out there. I've wanted a Traxxas X-Maxx for year's. I like this one as well. Unfortunately I've never been able to afford one. Living in low income housing isn't fun. Enjoyed watching!
Seems that the Skeeter took the same abuse, did you tweak a chassis or chew up a spur? Bang for buck, it's a tough and fun rig. If the initial price point wasn't $800 for the Sledge, it might be a consideration. The Kronos XTR and Kraton EXB rollers are a better value IMO.
Just ordered 1 of these and looking forward to it. I’m just getting back into RC from having nitro 1s years ago. But if it can handle ur abuse I’m sure it will last up to my nervous restart. 😂😂
Your driving skilles and honest review just got you another Sub LOL! You beat the hell outta that car, and it took it. Looks like Traxxas getting some cash from me EPIC
5:36 I thing kevin talbot does not need a shoutout😂😂. Awesome video, I am also not a huge fan of the motor mount. It might make the motor last long, but that adjusting from the bottom is just stupid. But the car does really take a good beating considering it was stock. Looking forward to m2c coming out with some killer parts for it! And congratulations on 20k subs!
Thanks for the glue tip, not needed to re-glue, but glad to take advice. Nice to see it's as tough as it appears to be. Too bad that price is a little out of my range
That was putting this new RC to the test!!!! I am not a big fan of the sledgehammers, I put backflip 4s tires on my Maxx V2 and it is so much better. I really think the sledge might be a new "must have" from Traxxas. Great run, will keep an eye out for more sledge videos!!!
I needed a heat gun and 20 minutes to get my Sledge tire off. The other one I soaked in acetone for 27 hours and that did nothing!!! Luck of the draw with the tire glue lol Also you do an awesome job running the car!!!
I've driven one, will buy one soon. Seems super smooth and quiet for such a tank, loved the handling and air control. A little overpriced, but also some great new tech in it,the motor cradle is cool, the body is the best part,T bar should be super strong and the chassis is beautiful, even tho u bent it.
That glue is awesome, i use the same stuff, used them on my belted badlands and on my non belted tires, holding strong with more than 10 packs on each set of tires
Nice, I was wondering when you'd be launching a Sledge, I really like mine so far. Couple of issues but solid platform to build from. Cant wait to see what M2C has in the works! Looking forward to round two
Get a set of the E-REVO 2.0 tires and wheels to run on it and anything else!!! I'm not a big Traxxas fan but that Truggy looks good and honestly it's difficult to mess up a bash truggy but I guarantee you will like the tires I suggested!!! They're great for wheelies with the flatter tread and they'll hook well on that dirt where you're spinning a lot
I got a nice setup for my team associated mgt for electric conversion using transmission, 4 holes to slide in but also has a pivot mount for more mesh adjustment
killer bash brother Eric, you of all put some serious bash on it..motormount, tires or not..the car looked like it was made of you❤..i an early wait to pic mine on Friday❤. gonna be a epic journey ❤❤❤❤
@@RCDUDE81 I think there are definitely a few issues, but there always is on a new release. Seems like ppl want to sacrifice this poor truck on an altar. 😉😉 It will all get worked out. No real need for all the shade ppl are throwing around. I don't have a horse in this race, but it does seem to be a good platform. 👍😎
I had to wait to see the video first before i say anything...Alot of people have been complaining about the teeth breaking on the spur, also the chasis, along with the tires...it's insane that people have to pay so much to upgrade it right out of the box 📦 traxxas needs to do something about this and that puddy metal they put on these trucks...i still enjoyed the vid brother because i knew you were going to send it to the moon 🌙 she held up pretty well besides the minor mishaps. 🚀🔥🚀🔥💪👍🤙💯🍻 😎
Very nice jump. What about using 20T pinion, in this case motor mount will be on the edge and have no place to move? Only can rotate.. On the other hand, glue and over-tight these 4 screews before first run is suggested :-D Hope that aftermarket better motor mount some company makes for us.
De boots look like better tires immediately. Great driving. Glad you got this car cant wait for the M2C upgrades . You should run stock chassis till you destroy it😛😎
If Rich Duperbash or RC DUDE81 aren’t testing it, I don’t value what anyone else has to say 💁🏽♂️… Rich and Eric (RC Dude 81) bash with PRECISION, they don’t purposely try to break shit, there’s a difference 🤙🏽.
If all that breaks is a spur gear and little tweaks in the chassis I’d say she’s a winner. You beat the hell out it. Idk why people are complaining so much for your average person it seems to be a great truck
IMO, the average person would break it more. As most of these other YT videos show, driver skill has alot to do with longevity. We may not have seen all the bad landings or cartwheels in this video but by and large its took a lot of massive air landings and still kept going.
Ditto. All these whack (probably kids) calling it junk. They want to say Arrma is better or this or that is better. I’ve done Rc my whole life and I’m smart enough to know that all vendors have an upgrade path. You send anything as hard as this and it will have problems. The average person doesn’t treat them this bad and if they do then oh well crap breaks. To see it stand up to that kind of punishment is pretty dang good for out of the box. Haters gonna hate but this is a good platform and will have large aftermarket support. I’ll be getting one but sending it less than that unless I have a really good transition to land on.
@@Shadows-RC I know what the gears are made of. Didn’t see any of them bust. The motor mount shifted and then homey lost some teeth. Would it be better to have machined gears? Yes. Would it be better if the truck was cheaper, yes. I can’t think of anything that is perfect out of the box. My 4 seater sxs. Needed all kinds of shit. Should have come with beadlocks, winch, off-road lights. My boat should have come with a better sound system, better trim tabs. My mtn bike should have been carbon fiber. My computer should have a better graphics card. You see the picture? Just about everything these days is mediocre at best. Nothing new here with Traxxas. I have over a grand in my xmaxx. Did it need it? Nope, did I want it trick? Yes…so I paid for it. You could drive that sledge all day without problems or you could break it in one squeeze of the trigger. Stop whining and drive like you stole it.
@@DJ_SHANNIMAL Well said, I'll bet half these guys crying over the price have way more in upgrades on whatever they're running. If its this tough out of the gate, it should'nt need much. In the end, you're looking at $1000 or more no matter what price you start with, pay more up front or after it breaks. No difference
Bought a sledge. Its a lot of fun, but the foam fell apart on the tires after 5 runs and i keep loosing a screw pin. The screw pin is $3.50 for a pack of 6, but traxxas wants $65 to ship them to Canada. I asked their support about just throwing it in an envelope, and they told me if i didn't want to pay the $65 that i should go search the field for the screw. They had a lot of smart ass responses. Completely unreasonable, support is terrible and listen to the other reviewers who say they won't buy traxxas ever again.
It's unfortunate about the chassis and mounts, I'm really 50/50 on this one, awesome video dude! I'm keen to see what m2c come out with, awesomeness I'm sure haha 😄
Sir i dig your bashing style! Similar to Rich Duperbash, your sends into the "abyss" are insane lol. Ive been watching your vids for a while, first time i commented and subbed.
Awesome bash with that thing and nice location🚀🔥 looks like with some M2C beef fixes and good driver skill, that Sledge may be a contender. I think I will take your advice on the glue also💯 Curious how those temps were? You think it could go a whole pack with that 17t pinion bashing hard? It looked aggressive and game no doubt especially with the Backflips.
