I see videos like this and it just sparks more questions. I’ve had the misfortune of caring for my mom after she was diagnosed with both GBM and Oligodendroglioma. She had surgery. She went on Temodar. She had radiation. And even though every doctor who saw her all agreed her cancer was caught in an extremely early phase, from the day of her first symptom to her passing was 7 months. What bugs me beyond that is the frequency that diseases of the brain seem to occur in my extended family. The cancer I mentioned, my uncle had benign tumors and even though he participated in trials of RU486 and gamma knife, it made no difference. Now add to that relatives with strokes, seizures, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, other forms of dementia, depression and mood issues, suicide, and substance abuse. And then, as if karma/fate/god were making sure I was paying attention, my neighbor across the street has so far survived a massive brain tumor. And one of my customers lost her husband to GBM. I realize some of this can be contributed to simple improvement in early diagnosis, but I have issue swallowing that as the whole story. I ask person who have had a relative with brain diseases and they don’t have this frequency.

Since December of 2011 I have become and official stalker of damn near all info related to GBM. I see articles, journals and videos with promises of treatments yet in the end, of anything is accomplished, it’s a marginal amount of time. Strangely, 2011 was not my first introduction to diseases of the brain. Both my grandmothers, my mother, my paternal uncle, several cousins, a great aunt and myself have all dealt with disorders/diagnosis involving the brain. That list doesn’t even take into account addictions that are rampant in every generation. When I speak to others, most people have maybe one relative with a brain disease. So how is it my family tree seems to have hit the crap lottery on illness. It gets hard to believe it’s simply statistics when it’s happened on both sides of my family, through multiple generations. Yet there are a couple of shared traits between families.... at some point in time we all lived within a 30 mile radius of one another. The other shared trait is the link to military service. People may read that and think I’m nuts or some conspiracy lunatic. That would be fair if not for 2 things: the military knew/knows the naval hospital in Charleston, the business offices, were surrounded in asbestos. (Didn’t leant about that until my mom was found to have scarring in her lungs from it). The 2nd was the notice I found dated April 2020 where the VA advised people stationed at particular bases, the Charleston SC Naval Base being one, were possibly exposed to nerve agents as they were warehoused/loaded/transported to be dumped off the SC coast. One of those included mustard gas. The main impact seen years after exposure is skin cancer. My family was stationed at Chas 3 times. Matter of fact I was born there. For diseases that are so damn difficult to treat, maybe the more viable option is discovering how they’re caused and preventing that. I sure as hell don’t want to watch another family member be robbed of their mind, their dignity and their lives over these issues.

I am Gourav Dey from Bangladesh. I have a little nephew who is 7 years old. In December, 2015 she was taken to the local doctors for her headache. They had done MRI scan of her brain and said that she has brain tumor (Brain Stem Glioma). We have taken her to India and all the doctors said it is an incurable disease. After coming back to our country she was treated with Radiation therapy and from last few months she is going through Chemotherapy. Her condition is getting worst day by day. After seeing a post on a social media regarding the treatment of tumor and cancer I am contacting with you. Sir/mam, she is the youngest and most closest member of our family. Please sir give us a proper direction so that we can rescue her . Sir, we are eagerly waiting for your reply.

Maybe if our smartest people weren't busy wasting their brains on being influencers on instagram, we would have the number of researchers to actually make some meaningful progress in finding the cure for these illnesses.

You think SMART people are influencers and Instagrammers??? I'm sorry but this is one of the stupidest statements I ever came across. No, I'm not really sorry for saying that..because it really is. The smartest people are the ones who never seek attention and are usually unheard of, which reflects that society is 95% of reptile brain users, seeking pleasure, fun, comfort and nothing else.

I’d rather have the knowledge on how to make him better not necessarily money because it’s in our nature for when it’s life or death we come up with it at all costs
