if you insist on riding on such terrain, PLEASE use much larger, inflated wheels backed up with a suspension system. Lower your seating position, as well. Good luck, you're gonna need LOTS of it. The wife wants to know if you'd name her as beneficiary on a life insurance policy if she pays for it.
This trike was just a test of ideas leading to a functional trike. I am hard pressed to think of any design that went from plans to function with no flaws....
I remember first trike I made I to did test run without glider on top. I had walked centre of the field and seen the ground was safe. First run engine not hot so only did slow run. After warm up I again shot off down the field at about 50mph+. So happy with this. but as I had no hang glider on top so in afect no brakes. I did big sweeping turn. I then run up side of field on untested ground. Yes, big mistake . Mottor in my back and off to hospital, still suffer with back now, 26 years on. Pete
I had taken the bungee cords off that help center the front wheel. I was testing to see if the wheel would stabilize itself under speed. Obviously, it did not. I ran through a hole that caused the wheel to turn.
Try changing your front wheel so it is facing forward with a rake angle of at least 70 -72 degrees or at least the front wheel ground contact is behind the axle. My first recumbent bike had the same problems that your trike is having. However if you still want the front wheel facing backwards - as you have now - check out an English recumbent bike called the "Rat Trap". Hope that helps you.
Pay no heed to the cartoon characters in the audience, I think you're onto something. Little tweaking and you've got it. Let's seeeee. Larger wheels, lower seat, extended steering fork, and 1/2 size twin counter-spinning blades. ( from this_ O _to_ oo ) Drink holder, smartphone mini-desk, I-pod with external noise suppression headset. Little larger motor to go 85 MPH. Yup, now yah got somethin!!!
Either a four wheel sys ( the best) or the distance between the front and rear wheels have to be 28% bigger than the distance between the two rear wheels... The 28% is a joke.:) but depending of the angle of the propeller and weight distribution it has to be considerably bigger that distance ...
I admire your spirit, but this thing should never leave the ground. To be honest, I would not ride it while it's still on the ground. Let this thing go man, while you are still able.

Looks too short-coupled. Maybe move the operator forward and lower the center of gravity. I don't believe I'd trust that front steerage single wheel either, and would consider two wheels with steerable linkage to maintain better control. Lots of things to play with there, but a little more time and engineering would give you a nice, fun ride!
Rear steering by rear freewheeling trolley type wheels, and vertical rudders would work with no chance of that happening on a landing. Put a small shock absorber on the front wheel to soak up bumps, and limit the amount of left right steering to 30 degrees.
Id prefer to NOT strap myself to an unstable 3 wheel platform, where I am at the exact center of gravity, and it has moving blades ... that sounds like a bad idea.
Oh all the ways to get airborne, that has to be one of the most suicidal, short of jumping off a tall building and flapping your arms real hard, attached to a Mod Podged Icarus feathered wing contraption. I draw the line at strapping a salad shooter to my back.
No rudder? Well, hot air balloons don't have rudders either, and which ever way the wind blows is about as good as any, I guess. Man, what a stupid idea.
This is a common mistake (that can be fatal) a trike has no counter couple . when you have a wing (or a sail) you can counter it. All the trike maker say DO NOT TEST TAXING WITHOUT SAIL ! this vidéo show you why
I'm sorry to say this but you need to redesign your trike from scratch. There are too many serious flaws in the current design.. I hope you haven't hurt yourself.
I wonder, who's the laughingstock here, the person that actually believe he's trying to fly a three wheeler with a engine stuck to it, or this guy doing a simple test run of his paramotor sans parachute :)
this is one of the dangers on inventions. could be funny but we should thank brave inventors, we are using more today of it. unlike china who's just been copying free that is stoling.
