I absolutely love the Trio Zip Pouch pattern from Sew Many Creations. It is so simple that even a beginner bag maker can conquer it in an afternoon of sewing.
It's just four pieces of fabric, a simple zipper install, a boxed corner and you're done! I made a bunch of these sets last spring as end-of-year teacher gifts for my daughter's instructors from canvas and cork.
